Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 151)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Thank you. I took Cymbalta (anti depressant) for several years, for fibromyalgia pain. Suppose to help, but I'm not sure it helped the pain at all :). But it may have kept me from hitting the pits as often. I started having side effects, so I couldn't take it any more. Someone was saying that Welbutrin (sp?) works, so I was thinking that when I see him again, that I may talk with him about it.

Susie I am sorry that you fell again and I'm sad that you are sad, lol. You keep everyone on here up beat always, having encouraging words for us all. Have you ever tried an anti-depressant because I think it may help you. It is so easy to get down when you feel lousy all the time and a small glitch in the road can seem like such an obstacle. Think about talking to your Dr. about one next time you see him. Until then (((HUGS)))) from me!

Rainbow hang in there. I know you are an incredible Mom and Grandma and they all appreciate all the hard work you do for them. Sometimes we just grow apart in a relationship, and we do better apart, however heartbreaking that it is.

Just a little side note. I didn't know at the time what caused the divorce. Still all these years later, I don't know. People who knew us, would ask me, what happened. All I could ever say was "don't know". I spent some time trying to figure it out, but never could.

I was telling you before, that when I did the divorce, it seemed as if a part of my person (my whole world) was falling apart. My children were at home, so I had to carry on, even when I didn't want. As awful as the whole thing was, if it had not happened, I would not be with the wonderful man I am with now (17 years so far).
Lots of people care very much what is happening to you. I know you can reach out at any time to almost everyone here. Luv and prayers for you.

It's wonderful that you will help people like that. It must be nice to have you as a friend, cause it's always wonderful to have friends that will go out of their way for you. I'm lucky cause I have a friend that I can call on when I run into a problem. A gift from god.

I missed most of what has gone on, but wanted to put my "2 cents" in LOL. My doctor (wonderful guy, long story) asked patients specifically NOT to put his name on the internet. Someone did so at some point and caused lots of havoc at his office. His staff was overwhelmed with "new" patients and he had lots of "filtering" through patients to do. Over 90% of the "new" patients were not "legitimate sick", so they aren't current patients.

I understand what you were saying about it being hard for someone new to read all the posts that we "chatty" people have on here. But I'm sure you understand how "touchy" some of the people are. They've been burned and are "gun shy" now. Not all of us agree with each other all of the time. Sometimes it can get heated, but it would be very boring if we did agree all of the time. It's important that (after the heat dies down) all of us respect each others right to have a different opinion, and I believe most everyone does. Some of the people who disagree with each other the most, have turned out to be VERY good friends.

Very glad you were able to find a doctor in the Denver area, because you had mentioned that you were considering going back to WA. I asked you not to give up on Colorado LOL. Hope you consider coming to a support group meeting. I was able to make the first one and am so glad I did. I live a long distance from Denver, so I know I won't be making many, but I think it's worthwhile for everyone.

Thanks for asking, but no, still not doing well. I am physically almost completely mended from the fall, but it does seem that I cracked a bone in my face by my eye. All the little cuts are scabby now :). Warning to anyone taking a blood thinner. They are not kidding when they say you can bleed lots and it's really hard to stop the bleeding. The second fall, who knows, my back and knees give me such fits anyway, that I don't know if this pain is from the fall or just me being me :)
I can't seem to pull myself together mentally. I hit the pits that Sunday after I fell, and for some reason I can't seem to pull myself up. I've always fought depression, even the years before sick was a word that meant more than a cold. I'm having a very difficult time with this and can't get a handle on why.
I did go to lunch with my disabled friend today, and that always helps some, but part way through lunch, the cloud hit me hard again. I've told everyone before, he and I are a "funny" pair. He (and his brothers and sisters) all suffer with depression, so it must be something chemical in his family. He had a horrible time of it years ago, when we worked together. It's strange but we are usually able to lift each other out of it.
I've been trying to analyze it, cause in my crazy brain, I always feel as if I can figure out the "why" then I can control it :).
It is baseless and stupid and I know it'll pass. May be I just need to sit and cry. People say a "good" cry makes you feel better LOL
I see my doctor in a few weeks, so if I'm still in the pits, I'll talk to him about it, and see if he has a "magic cure all" LOL

Rainbow, don't take this wrong HE IS NT WORTH IT. Hold your head up high and forget why this or why that lean on us I've been thru two bad marriages. Rainbow do you have a place to go thanksgiving? I discovered ebay omg Tom bought a 70 inch smart tv and I can email from it. Yes I never had anything like this before. I'm technology retarded. I tell the tv to text u and it does lol. Tom can program it to tell me to take my meds what next. I'm happy. I want everyone else happy, you are all my dear friends.

My original post that ruffled y'alls feathers was a direct response to Wendy, and her reply to Treehugger, who was asking for the name of a decent doctor or clinic.
As I have said in at least 3 separate posts, I have found a great doc that is simply continuing the treatment that my old doc had started after 1.5 years of trying various, unsuccessful treatments.
I have tried to help at least one person here when they asked about some of the "work from home" type of jobs, even though their abilities to spell and use the language correctly were questionable, and I will always try to help when and where I can. I have left my warm house in a blizzard to go help someone from a BMW forum who was driving through and broke down by Idaho Springs. I happened to live by DIA. This is the kind of stuff i do, just because it is the right thing to do. So, when I see someone get brushed off after asking a very simple question that would hurt no one, but could help someone greatly, I get upset. I don't apologize for it, and so if feathers got ruffled, either they will get over it, or not, either way, I don't care.
