Co-diovan side effect?
I've been taking 80mg/12.5 for some months now; bp when measured with two different monitors (upper arm and wrist) has averaged 106-110/61-63, with diastolic figures at times lower than 60, heart rate 55-70. Readings are elevated at the doctors clinic ~ 130-140/75-80. Main problem is regular tension like headache, with similar burning sensation feeling occasionally behind the ears / neck region. CT scan results okay. Electrolytes figures, kidney & liver function tests, and sugar level tests results also okay. I'm strongly convinced that the co-diovan medication is responsible for the headaches / burning sensation feeling described early. My doctors are still observing and this has affected quality of life for me. Is anyone with a similar experience and how can this be addres...

Diovan 160 Mg Vs Losartan 100 25
Are the ingredients in Diovan 160 mg and Losartan 100-25 mg comparable if I run out of one can I switch to other? ## Hi Elaine, As far as comparing these drugs, I think it's not wise to assume that they have similar properties, since everyone can react differently to one or the other, despite having an equivalent dosage. If you're used to taking one or the other and have your doctors permission, I'd say it's fine to switch off between the two. However, at the same time I wouldn't necessarily anticipate having the same relief or results from two entirely different medications. On a side note: Eating whole foods that have little to no sodium and which are high in potassium and magnesium are solid dietary options for lowering blood pressure. These foods primarily includ...

expiration date diovan hct
diovan hct expired 2007 I ran out of prescription and until I replenish can I take this pill which was a sample from doctor ## No, that is way to old for it to have any efficacy left. Even in the original factory sealed container, they are only good for about 3 to 4 years from the date of production, after that they start to lose efficacy. the best thing to do would be to dispose of them and see your doctor for a new prescription. Learn more Diovan details here. Learn more HCT details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have sample Diovan 160mg from Doctor I just found, sealed from 2009. Is it still safe to take now in 2014?

Diovan expired 5 months ago
I found an unopened bottle of Diovan (90 tabs) in my medicine cabinet. It got pushed back by my more current orders. It expired 5 months ago; are they still good? ## Hello, Ann! How are you? They don't get dangerous once past the expiration, but they do begin to lose effectiveness. Are they in a factory sealed bottle or one from your pharmacy? The factory sealed ones usually have a longer expiration date. ## Thank you Verwon. I was told it is still good until the end of the year so I started taking it right away. At least my 3-month supply won't be wasted.

i am allergic to sulfa drugs can I take hydrochlorothiazide
The doctor wants to change me to Diovan and Hydrochlorothiazide. I am currently on Lisinopril 40mg. I am afraid to change. I am allergic to sulfa drugs. I have had a cold/flu for about 2 months and he thinks Lisinopril may be causing the cough. (this is a new doctor to me). I have been on Lisinopril for 10 years and have had no problems. Not sure what to do. Also Diovan is a tier 4 drug. Lisinopril is a tier 1. ## Hydrochlorothiazide is a sulfonamide, but they don't always cause problems in people with sulfa allergies. Learn more Hydrochlorothiazide details here. I've taken it without a problem, but had a very bad allergic reaction to the antibiotic Bactrim and am listed as being sulfa allergic. However, it is best to proceed with caution. Have you discussed the issue with your ...

diovan htc still sealed and unopened doctor s sample expired last oct 2011 will it be safe to take in
Had not taken BP tablet for a while, then had a test that showed the pressure was high, finds the med. I take has expired but still has a lot, should I just discard them or can it still be safe to use? ## Hello, Bingbing1956! How are you? Medications start to lose effectiveness over time, so it's not going to work as well, since it's been expired for 2 years. Beyond that, you need to see your doctor, get on a good, non-expired medication and stick with it. There is no cure for high blood pressure, it has to be continually controlled and you can't just take a medication until it's at normal levels and then stop, because it will go up, again. The medications also take time to reach their full level of efficacy in the body, so they aren't something you can just take as ...

calvit,sangobion,locartan
prescribed in the philippines ## This is a form of a blood pressure medication made in the US called Diovan. It is used to lower high blood pressure. Side effects include dizziness, lightheadness, headache, among others. ## Actually, the name brand in the U.S. for Losartan is Cozaar. Learn more Cozaar details here. It's an ARB that's used to help treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. It and Diovan are in the same drug class, but Diovan actually contains the active ingredient Valsartan. Learn more Diovan details here. As to the Calvit, that's a supplement that contains Calcium Carbonate and Cholecalciferol and the Sangobion is a multivitamin nutritional supplement. Is there anything I can help with? Are there any comments or questions?

corzaar
blood pressure ## I have no comments. How can I make a comment on something I have no information on. ## Is Corzaar, or its generic Losarton, a good replacement for Diovan which has no generic and is extremely expensive? ## Losartan is an ARB that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Learn more Cozaar details here. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain. And in regards to Cheryl's question for anyone that wants to know… Since they are in the same medication class, yes you could try the other one and it's worth asking your doctor about. Are there any other questions or comments?

Diovan & diabetes
My mom just started taking diovan for her hp and she has diabetes.Sence she has started taken it her sugar level has gone up to 200. Is there anyone else who is on diovan and has diabetes? Any input would be great!CArrie ## Diovan should not cause your mother's blood sugars to go up. Diovan works to protect her kidneys from renal failure, a common disorder with diabetes when not in tight control. She should be monitoring her blood sugars four times daily if they are high and be careful of what she is eating. ## Yes my Mother takes Diovan and has diabetes, since she started her pressure is really low(confused on that). she's 90 ## Yes, I called the company & they stated it should not affect my blood sugar, however, it was 200+ for the 2 days I took it. My meds have been chang...

Sidemedication
Im on co-diovan 160 and bilocor 5mg twice a day + trepelene 25mg. My docter prescribed demetrin 10mg twice a day. I want to know if it is safe to use all these medications together. ## I haven't found any interaction information on Demetrin (Prazepam), but as far as the others go, there are potentially unsafe interactions found between all of your medications. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: The following applies to: Trepiline (amitriptyline) and Co-diovan (valsartan + hydrochlorothiazide)… "Hydrochlorothiazide and amitriptyline may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate. These side effects are most likely to be seen ...

Divan b p , drug ,
what will this drug cost a month ? ## Diovan contains the active ingredient Valsartan, it is an ARB that is used to help treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. The price, however, will vary depending on where you buy it and it will also depend on the dosage and amount of tablets you are buying. A generical range, however, is anywhere from $80 to $130. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Is there a generic of Divan?

can you take Esculturex with Diovan
can you take Esculturex with Diovan 160/25 mg ## Esculturex is listed as containing Sibutramine, a drug that was used to aid in weight loss, until it was banned from the market in 2010, due to the increased risk it caused of adverse cardiovascular events. Learn more Sibutramine details here. That said, it you are taking the Diovan HCT for high blood pressure or a cardiac condition, then no, it isn't safe to take the Esculturex, or any other stimulant type of weight/appetite control drug. Learn more Valsartan details here. Learn more Hydrochlorothiazide details here. Stimulant medications, such as the Esculturex can cause elevation of your blood pressure and heart rate, which can be dangerous for cardiac and hypertension patients. blood pressure medicine combinations
Im taking Diovan HCT 160/12.5 for my blood pressure but it is still little high.I have a second medicine I used to take Labetalol HCL 200mg.Is it ok to take them both? ## Okay first, what numbers do you consider a little high? You have to understand what when someone has high blood pressure, the basic goal is usually 135/85 or right around there, because in many cases it isn't practical to try to get them to 120/80 or lower. You also need to be watching what you eat, such as keeping your sodium as low as possible and not overdoing your fluid intake, to help lower it. On top of that you also need to be getting regular exercise. Learn more hypertension details here. Other factors that come into play would be the time of day you are checking it, because it is normal for some fluctuatio...

Diovan Bystolic Augmentin Fluimucil
is it safe to take diovan, bystolic, augmentin, fluimucil together? ## My best response to your question is always discuss your concerns with your doctor, he or she can give you the best advise on any drug interaction with another drug. ## Actually, doctors are not as well educated about the finer points of medications as pharmacists, so if you want accurate answers your pharmacist is your best bet. .....or this website, since that's what it's here for! I did run a check for interactions and I didn't find any listed between any of these medications. Learn more Diovan details here. Learn more Bystolic details here. Learn more Augmentin details here. Learn more Fluimicil details here. Has your doctor prescribed all of these? ## Not to belabor our point your doctor will always ...

Does Anyone No The Long Term Effects Of Co Diovan Bp Medication
I as put on Co Diovan BP medication 15 months ago after being admitted to ICU with what the cardiologist seemed to think was arterial fibrillation. He said it was exactly the right medicine for my problem. I have just come out of ICU again now after having a transient ischemic attack. I am now on 5 different medications. My question is could the Co Diovan which I was taking before, have had anything to do with the second problem. The specialist I saw now said no. My second question is what will the other medication I am on now do to me. I am onCarloc 12.5mg, Exforge 10 ml, Adco Simvastatin and aspirin. The cardiologist said I did not need aspirin, now I do. I also have to be very careful of any medication with sulphur in it as 10 years ago I got Stephen-Johnson Syndrome from a sulphur d...
