I have taken Wellington for a couple months now and I am more depressed than ever..I have gained 25 pounds since March... Dr. is giving me Cymbalta to try with the Wellbutrin..I am terrified of gaining more weight. I CANNOT gain anymore..I have been so depressed I don't even leave the house and I am usually an outgoing person...I don't know what to do. ## I meant wellbutrin ## My advice as a Cymbalta user for a couple years is do not take it. It took me 4 months to wean myself off and they were not easy. I have been off almost 3 weeks and am still have some withdrawal symptoms. I quit by skipping my pill on Monday and Thursday for 2 weeks. Then added a third day for 4 weeks. After than I would try to go 2 days without one but if I got too dizzy I would take one. I've been taking generic Cymbalta Duloxetine for 6 months, since my insurance quit paying for the brand name. I've found that it made me more tired and more depressed. I changed to taking it at bedtime with much better results. Has anyone else observed any differences in the generic Cymbalta? ## I felt the same way with the generic. Hi All, thanks for this useful chat. I live in South Africa and have been on cymgen 60mg for about 8 months for anxiety and depression. It has helped a bit, but of late I feel it is working less and less. I work as a researcher at a university, and my job requires a good amount of creative thought and writing. Over the last 8 months, I feel that my creativity and ability to work effectively has been severely hampered. I tried to come off the cymgen 2 weeks ago, without knowing of the negative side effects. My withdrawal was severe, including vertigo, light headedness, flu like symptoms, diarrhoea, very poor levels of concentration and tiredness. I was supposed to get Cymbalta I ended up with this... I am nervous it says dont take with mental meds. Has anyone noticed a difference between generic duloxotine and Cymbalta? I changed in Dec '13 and have had heavier side effects if I miss one dose, esp. diarrhea,constipation and ears ringing. (I take 60 mg with 100mg lamictal.). ## Yes! My drug co. switched me to generic Cymbalta about 8 weeks ago and my anxiety is back with a vengeance. Cymbalta side effects. Have taken cymbalta for degen. Joint decease and severe backback(3surgeries in nine month, the last one, missylower fusion with side rods at base) i seem to be getting no benefit for pain from this drug and reading about all the side effects, i'm stopping it. Any one else go off of cymbalta and experience muscle/leg cramps? I'm on day 7 of going off and since day 5 I've had horrible legs muscle pain. I didn't quite realize it was going off the cymbalta till yesterday. Started taking 40 mg of Prozac I'm fine depression wise. I'm a bit cranky, but I can't stand the leg pain. Yes, that can happen if you abruptly stop taking these types of medications. Usually, the best thing to do is to have you slowly taper off of one, while going up on the other. Were you told to just stop taking it?

After only a week of being prescribed Cymbalta, (Duyloxetine Hydrochloride) 20 mg. cap once a day, for depression and back pain by two doctors working together, I fell victim to several of the side effects of the drug. Although I did not know that they were side effects at the time (most notably weakness, loss of coordination and balance). I consulted with the prescribing doctor, I was told that I had not been on the drug long enough, or at a high enough strength dosage to develop any of the side effects. After another week of Cymbalta I was falling down, could not walk straight, fell off my bike three times (once seriously) and could barely lift my arms over my head. Hi all, Unfortunately some of these drugs have nasty side effects, but this is nothing compared to coming off them. Take it twice as slow as your doctor recommends, if you're still feeling the 'flu', take half a pill and it will help you get through it. Never buy generics.

Concerta can slight increase the efficacy of the Cymbalta, but it is not considered a dangerous reaction for most people. However, if would be best to check with your doctor to ascertain whether or not it is safe for you take both. Side effects may include heightened drowsiness, weight changes and mood swings. I'm taking 60 mg of cymbalta and 1mg of kloanopin. I find that kloanopin relaxed my jaw and neck muscles. The cymbalta hasn't kicked in yet. It's only been a week. ## Hello, Steve! I recently tested positive for nortriptycine and cymbalta during a urine screen. I have been on penicillin and amoxycillin for several weeks following a tooth extraction. I have never taken either one of the drugs I tested positive for. What is going on here? ## Just today my doctor informed me that he had my sample retested and the false positive for nortriptyline and cymbalta were from nicotine and alcohol!! I have blisters on bottom of my feet. The blister is open on my left foot. The blister on my right foot hasn't opened yet, but it hurts. ## Hello, Mr. Rambus! How are you? I have been on Cymbalta for a couple of weeks. I don't have any problems falling asleep.Every once in a while I use to fight in my sleep or have nightmares, but maybe once every couple of months if that. But now since I've been taking the Cymbalta it's like every night I'm fighting and or talking in my sleep. Have you heard of anything like this? Thank you for your time. ## Hello, Shonda! Virtually all medications like this that act on brain chemicals cause disruptions to the sleep cycle, usually by REM onset latency, you spend less time in the REM stage and it is much more vivid, while you are in it. Have you consulted your doctor? It just might not be the right medication for you to take.

I have chronic lower back pain from two surgeries and also arthritis. Over a year ago I was taking opiates and had epidural injections. The doctor suggested Cymbalta. After two weeks at 60 mg my pain was nearly gone and I haven't had any opiates since. I also feel the Cymbalta help my mood because I may have been depressed living with pain day in and out. Here's the dilemma. I've read so many horror stories about Cymbalta withdrawal it scares me and I'm thinking maybe I should get off of it now. I did have a few side effects (dry mouth, sweating) but these have long gone. I went down to 30 mg a day and have a few minor withdrawals (ears ringing, small pupils, no zaps but the head feels congested). The problem is the pain has returned. I was taking Cymbalta for depression and anxiety for two years. I also have chronic back problems, and it was helping my pain. Out of the blue, whatever the name of the government prescription plan for people disabled and on Medicare decides to stop paying for it and, therefore, allowing me to take it! I was switched BACK TO Effexor's generic, Venlafaxine XR, which wasn't working nearly as well as the Cymbalta. I know it's not just because I have government based insurance because other people pay for insurances that do that also. I just wish that whoever is benefiting from the profits of this would realize that the maybe 50%+ in income from old medications and dispensing generic medications, is not fair to the sick if they don't work. Cymbalta was prescribed to help nerve pain as a result of a cut nerve during surgery. I have been on it for 6-7 weeks and have little relief.
