Can This Drug Cause Tia's

Can eliquis cause TIA's and also does the dosage depend on age? My father had slurred speech, dizziness general feeling of being drunk after taking this drug for a PE. He's 85 and was given 20mg a day!

Yes, it has been known to cause TIA's, according to the U.S. FDA, and while the dosage isn't dependent on age, it is also known that the elderly are frequently more prone to experiencing side effects from a medication and often experience them more severely than those who are younger.

Other side effects of this medication may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising.

Thank you for that my dad as just come out of hospital after 5 months in hospital. I eventually got them to change his medication and yes now on warfarin. His speech is back to normal, his coordination and every thing. I'm convinced eliquis was the cause. Thank you for your response.
