I have been using allopurin for about 12 months now as a gout relief treatment. I have noted that I have been getting outbreaks of rashes - brownish red spots, slightly raised which develop into dry, flaky skins patches - concentrated around the lower back, and upper buttock. This has become concerning now as they have now spread to the legs as well as under the arms. My wife says it is the Puricos (allopurin) and thinks I must discontinue. Any comment or view ## Have you consulted your doctor? It is rare, but Allopurinol can cause a rash, in some people and, when it does, they usually do have to discontinue use of it. Can anyone identify the name of the medication matching this description (small round orange/pinkish pill with NO21 on front & a scoring mark on back to easily break it in half)? Pharmacist filled with entirely different description of pill. Does anyone know what kind of drug this is? I am looking for help identifying a larger round orange pill with the imprint N021 or NO21 on the front.
