My dermatologist prescribed acticlate 150 mg once daily for treatment of my acne. I am taking this medication for two months already. I took one dose of Acticlate as indicated by my dermatologist. I experienced side effects of tummy rumbles, pain from the navel up, sinus headache, & general malaise; shoulders hurt, back hurts. I have not taken any further dose. How long should these side effects last now that I have stopped taking the medication? ## Hello, Dave! How are you? This just contains the active ingredient Doxycycline, which is an antibiotic and its common side effects usually include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. They shouldn't last more than a few days, if you only took one dose, but it would be best to have things checked out by your doctor. Are you on any other medications?
