I have dealt with chronic stress for years. I've sought help from counseling with really no help. Years ago, doctors were a lot more willing to prescribe things like xanax, but not any more. When I did take it, I was taking between 1 - 3 .5mg tablets per day, some days, none. ## Hello, Jay! How are you? And yes, such medications were prescribed more freely in the past, but they have since been found to be habit forming and are very commonly abused, so such practices had to stop. Just moved to San Diego from Jersey. Have been suffering anxiety my whole life but is unbearable since I moved. I've taken a couple Xanax in my day and honestly that's the only thing that helps. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a doctor in the San Diego area who is pretty liberal with their prescriptions who takes cash. ## All Doctors will take cash. You shouldn't have a big problem with California Doctors unlike other areas. If worse comes to worse you can slip down to Mexico and either just go to a pharmacy or see a doctor and go to a pharmacy there. I believe you are allowed to bring back up to a 90 day supply legally. I need help finding a doctor in San Diego ca or north county San Diego That perscribe xanax, valume ect. I know all do but some that are more freely open and are more ok with medication first. My dr retired. ## You can't get either one without seeing an actual doctor for a regular exam/evaluation. Those are prescribing requirements. And under the new laws, you'll most likely not be able to get both from the same doctor, since medications required for any type of long-term pain management will have to be prescribed by a pain management doctor. My doctor currently gives me roxicodone 30mg #360, Opana IR 10mg #180, Soma 350mg #120, and Xanax 2mg #90....the only problem now seems to be finding pharmacies willing to fill the oxy's. I was told by my pharmacy (cvc) that they now dont fill beyond 240. Anybody else have this problem in San Diego or know of a pharmacy that will honor the script? Has anyone heard of the Ashton Method as a way to detox off of benzodiazepenes? I know it is more popular in the UK. I’m trying to find a USA psychiatrist who follows this method. A lot of people have had success coming off without losing their minds in withdrawal. ## My dr. Did a similar approach. Switching me to Valium instead of Xanax and then we got 1mg, .5mg and .25mg compounded so I could make very small tapers. It was the only thing that worked for me after trying to come off on my own unsuccessfully. Dr. Royble at True Life Center in San Diego. There are also some groups that help you to micro taper on your own diluting the pills with liquid. ## I'm looking for one also.

Please help...I am looking for a pain management doctor in San DIego that will write scripts for opiates. Moved here from FL, was on Dilaudid, Soma, Xanax, Oxy's. I just got approved for Media-cal but will pay cash if necessary.
