I have Medicaid & I'm under a lot of stress & need a dr to prescribe Xanax in the Dallas Texas area. They have to accept Medicaid as I have no insurance. ## Medicaid Rules are Wild. Xanax for Children! Texas has a handful of physicians taking advantage of Medicaid rules by prescribing inappropriate medications for children. This is not only bad for the kids, but eats up Medicaid money that should go to other people. The problem was detailed in an editorial in the Fort Worth Star Telegram. Here are excerpts: With little oversight and apparent carte blanche, a relative handful of Texas physicians wrote $47 million worth of Medicaid prescriptions for powerful antipsychotic and anti-anxiety drugs over the past two years, according to a Star-Telegram analysis. The top five doctor...

I suffer from tmau, rare metabolic disorder that causes my body, sweat, breath and urine to smell like feces, garbage, fish, rotten cheese but mainly I smell of s*** 24 hrs a day. I'm obsessively clean, shower.2 or 3 times daily. The remarks made In public, work,.anywhere I go have caused anxiety at a level beyond explanation. If I just go to Walmart, convenience store or the bank my anxiety causes me 2 sweat, hands shake, voice starts to shake n I often leave. Going to work is terrifying. Listening to. I need xanax or Im gonna lose my job. This tmau is type 2 and was acquired after a bad infection. ## Hello, I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through. What treatments have you tried for the Trimethylaminuria (TMAU)? Drugs will only cover up the pain you feel from y...

Please help me get a prescription for Xanax or other benzos I'm clinically depressed got a referral from a counselor and the waiting list is so big it's nonexistent. Need help with this depression is deep and I need a doctor. ## Benzos do not cure depression? A qualified M.D. would tell you that! ## As EDDY has already stated, drugs in the benzodiazepine group do not cure depression and are not used to treat depression. To be 100% fair, two benzodiazepines (alprazolam aka Xanax; adinazolam which has never been marketed) do have some antidepressant qualities. When Upjohn first applied to the FDA to have Xanax approved, the company requested that one of Xanax's uses be listed as a treatment for depression. The evidence was shaky, and Xanax only received approval for anxiety di...

I need help locating a doctor to write me a prescription for Xanax and Percocet in Utah. I would even drive to Arizona if I had to. My doctor lost his license after prescribing these to me for 6 yrs and now I can't seem to find another doctor that will write for them or take chronic patients. ## Well, one of the biggest problems you're creating for yourself is due to the fact that you are looking/asking for specific medications. Regardless of whether or not they treat chronic patients, almost every doctor out there is going to view this as drug seeking behavior. A doctor expects to make the decisions on what the appropriate treatments and medications would be. The best thing you can do is to let your medical records speak for themselves. A doctor will be more inclined to follow ...

I was wondering if someone could tell me how long I should wait to take a 1 mg xanax after taking a 10 mg hydrocodone at around 11 am this morning? ## There's no specific time that you have to wait, if they've both been prescribed for you. However, taking them together could result in your experiencing more severe side effects than usual, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and sedation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Interesting warning box at the Pfizer Xanax site: WARNING: RISKS FROM CONCOMITANT USE WITH OPIOIDS Concomitant use of benzodiazepines and opioids may result in profound sedation, respiratory depression, coma, and death [see Warnings, Drug Interactions]. ? Reserve concomitant prescribing of these drugs for use in patien...

My Doctor left Montefiore and joined Westchester Medical. I been seeing him for the past 15 years. When he was affiliated with Monti I could call and come by the office and pick up my pricripion of 30 3mg XR Xanax. I live less than a mile from his old office. Know I have to make an appointment every month and see him to get a refill. It's a 40 minute ride. My question is can he prescribe 90 pills. Or is it legal for him to give me three seperate scrips and post date them. Seeing him every month to pick up a scrip. along with the drive is a nightmare. ## The laws vary from State to State but your Doctor can do a few different things, including prescribing more pills per month and or write for refills. Writing multiple paper prescriptions is not a good idea and they expire in 180 days...

I am looking for a doctor willing to prescribe xanax. Please spare me the horror stories. I have spent at least 4-6 weeks trying all of the following Paxil, Wellbutrin, Zoloft, Tefronaul, and even Serequeol. I have been diagnosed with panic attacks and xanax is the only drug that provides relief. Anyone know a doctor in Harrisburg, PA that doesn't mind prescribing it. I am tired of being my doctors guineaa pig.

I need a new dr that will prescribe my klonopin and percocet. Either that or a mail order Ican get it thru. My dr retired. ## You can't get either one without seeing an actual doctor for a regular exam/evaluation. Those are prescribing requirements. And under the new laws, you'll most likely not be able to get both from the same doctor, since medications required for any type of long-term pain management will have to be prescribed by a pain management doctor. Learn more Percocet details here. Learn more Klonopin details here. By default that means you'll have to get your Klonopin from a different doctor. Can you post back with your general location? That will help you get more answers, since this site is open to all countries and someone knowing a doctor in San Diego isn...

I'm getting ready to fly and take Xanax prior to my flight. I don't want to have a coughing fit on the plane. Will taking Cheratussin AC along with the Xanax be a problem? ## Hi Karen, If you have a moment, I'd encourage you to check out the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool) for good measure, where you can plug in the name of each drug you are taking and it will search its database for possible contraindications. However based on my own investigation, there does appear to be a high potential for interaction between Cheratussin AC and Alprazolam, whereas it's generally not recommended that you take the two together due to a risk of increased respiratory depression. That said, it would probably be best to contact your prescribing docto...

I have had panic attacks for about 22 years. My first was when I was nine. I've been prescribed 2mg 4 times a day and my prescription hasn't run out but I'm having a hard time finding a doctor that I will prescribe benzos. I simply can't make the drive to the old doctor anymore because it's so far away and we totalled our truck. Can anyone please help? I've been on this dose for quite some time now and need a doctor asap before I run out. ## Two mg 4 times a day is a dose that many Doctors wouldn't feel comfortable prescribing. It is best if you deal with your problems without that amount. When you run out you will become very sick and suffer withdrawal issues ## What is the doctor that is prescribing that did you right now... I'm looking right now,I have...

I am in very bad need of a Dr in the Knoxville, Sevierville, or Maryville area who is not too strick on prescribing xanax. I just lost my Dr && I've been wrote since 1999 after my fiance shot himself in front of me. I am now a single (1st time mother) of a 2yr old boy. && Starting to run out of my last script. I am TRULY SCARED to end up having seizures while alone with my Son. ANY help at ALL wld be greatly appreciated. ## I am very sorry, your fears are well founded. How did you lose your doctor? That's awful. The problem is there is no way to guarantee that any given doctor will prescribe any specific medication. Since this is a controlled substance that can be habit forming, most will be reluctant to do so, especially if you go in asking for a specific medica...

I have been on Xanax for 15yrs. New provider doesnt want to keep prescribing it, why is he telling me its going to be taken off the market so I should back down now !!! WHAT???? IS THIS TRUE? I have no complaints. I am able to calm my panic attach because of the Xanax. ???? What is your professional opinion? I will not be staying with this new doctor who clearly doesnt understand how wondetful Xanax is . ## Xanax is many things, but wonderful is really not one of them? Look for a new provider? ## @LeeLee, The FDA has not made any official announcements on their website's list of drug discontinuations. So my theory is that your doctor just doesn't want to prescribe that type of medication anymore; probably for very personal reasons and understandably so. In my opinion the benefit...

I live in Nampa, Idaho, 20 minutes from Boise. I just moved here and am looking for a doctor who has no problem prescribing Xanax. I have terrible anxiety. ## Xanax is a Benzodiazepine, so it has the potential to be habit forming and such prescriptions are also monitored by the government, so it's highly unlikely that you'll find a doctor that'll be casual about prescribing it. The best thing you can do is set up an appointment with a new doctor, but don't ask in advance if they'll prescribe any particular medication, because they will most likely see that as drug seeking behavior. Once you get an appointment make sure that they get a full copy of your current medical records, so they can see what has and what hasn't worked for you, as documented by a fellow phys...

Hello all I have been established with my Primary Care Dr. For some time now and he has been a blessing but I suffer from major PTSD, Panic Disorder as well as HAD and am on 3mg of Alprazolam per day along with a painkiller I am attempting to slowly wien off of. My question is whether anyone knows who may be able to inform me of a Psychiatrist who is lax in their Benzo prescribing of it is truly neccessary, for me it is. I am also on Busparone which practically ddeos nothing for the panic attacks I suffer from on a day to day basis. I have the names of a couple psychiatrists I saw when I used to abuse this type of medication but have now been on the same dosage over 6 years and would be willing to swap names of anyone can help please do. Thank you. ## Despite what you might have read or...

My dr has me on 1mg of xanax and I am still having anxiety, so he put me on buspar as well. Is it safe and will it work? ## Hi Mary, If your doctor prescribed both medications then I believe it is his or her professional opinion (after an in person evaluation & reviewing your medical records) that you can safely take them together in the doses that you were put on. My understanding is that your prescribing doctor also believes they will work well together... So I think if you're going to question their "expertise", perhaps it would be best to seek the opinion of another medical doctor (or pharmacist) outside of your network. I'd also encourage you to check out the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool) for good measure, where you can ...

Dr Murray Snook in Georgetown, TX has no problems prescribing Xanax. Will refill every month for years as long as you come in and complain of anxiety. ## What Dr. Snook does for one patient does not mean he would do for all patients. Also it does him limited good to post this info as the DEA or local authorities have access to the internet and could possibly sanction him. This is not to say that he won't give out these pills.

My doctor no longer practices and I need my Xanax and narcos. My son age 2 years 3 days old drown in a pool and I had a bad car wreck resulting in major surgeries with pins, rods and screws in my hand and foot. Please help me find a new doctor. Thanks. ## Hello, Amanda! How are you? I am so sorry about that you've been through, that's so tragic. Due to the new directives that were set forth by the DEA last year, you'll most likely need to see specialists to have such medications prescribed, so you'd need a psychiatrist and someone for pain management. Most general practitioners are no longer comfortable prescribing controlled substances. I think you would likely benefit greatly from a psychiatrist, since they do counseling, as well. The FDA classifies Xanax as a benzodia...

I am new here and looking for a doctor who will continue prescribing me the Xanax I am already taking. Any help is greatly appreciated. ## Hi, Butter! How are you? I am not familiar with doctors in Mobile, since I've never been there, but I can offer you some advice that may help. If you call a new doctor asking if they'll prescribe a medication like this, since Xanax can be habit forming and isn't life sustaining, both they and their staff will view that as being drug seeking behavior, so they'll usually just tell you that they don't prescribe it and won't let you get in the door for an appointment. Thus, the best approach for those that legitimately need such a medication is to make an appointment with a new doctor and just make sure that they are sent a full c...

Hi all, Short version: I’m based in Europe (London) after having lived in the US. I’m posting because I’d really love the names of some good doctors (private or otherwise) in or near London who aren’t afraid of prescribing Xanax and don’t see it as the world’s drug. It’s a miracle drug that saved my life and was used responsibly. Long version, here’s my story: I’ve been suffering from very bad depression, ptsd, and debilitating anxiety. In the UK, I tried at least 12 different types in antidepressants and more anti-anxiety medication than I can count. Nothing worked, nor did the copious amount of counselling and therapy. I did intense therapy, I tried CBT at least 5 times. So many years and effort was put in, but absolutely nothing w...
