i recently took a urine test for a custody hearing and came up positive for oxycodone. i am taking 10mg methadone tablets 4x's a day for spinal issues. can the methadone come up positive for oxycodone in a drug test that probation officials give? i heard him say that he seen the methadone in my urine but i thought it had to be tested using a specific test. is it possible to get a false positive because of my methadone? ## Yes it will show up positive ## Methadone will show up on a drug test, but it WON'T show up as oxycodone. They can be used to detect Methadone, that is what they were originally designed to test for, but only if it has been taken while wearing the patch. I was positive for methadone on a drug test. I did not take it though. I had a severe flu and I took nyquil tabs, dayquil also q-pap (kids Tylenol) and suboxone. But the test said methadone, which I can't even take because of a bad reaction I had years ago when they tried to prescribe it for pain. I gave it back the next day to my doctor.

I go to a methadone clinic and i'm on 20 milligrams, it's not showing methadone in my system, and their denying me of my take homes. why isn't it showing up in my system? I've been clean for 4 years. Please, I need answers, they think I'm bringing in someone else's urine. Even in an instant drop it showed no signs of methadone. Thankyou. ## they need to do a test called peak and (trouft) that one im not sure of the spelling. It test how fast you metabolize it. They will take you blood in the morning and then hours later. I have been taking methadone for 6 year every day as prescribed. Just got off two 3 weeks ago. Is it possible for methadone to stay in ur system for longer because I was on it so long? Most standard urine tests do not, they just test for drug classes and concentrations, such as opiates, Benzodiazepines and Amphetamines. Are you currently taking some sort of opiate? I need help from the ER with maybe some lortab cough syrup due to being extremely sick with bronchitis but I'm afraid they'll drug test me and see I'm on methadone. If you take methadone 30mg two times in two days (30mg per day) and have not taken anymore at all for 7 days will you pass a drug test at a pain management clinic on the 8th day? I got a letter from my pain management doctor yesterday saying he was dropping me as a patient because I had NO metabolites in my system for for it on urine screenings going all the way back to November. I know this cannot possibly be right. I can get away with taking 60 mg daily, but not less than that.
