When Does Seroquel Expire

I have 50 mg tablets and they expired on 2/20/2015. I recently found them buried in my closet and started taking them. What harm can it cause? ## No harm, but they may not be as effective as they were, when new. Medications do tend to lose efficacy over time, according to NIH reports. However, the caveat I will add here is that the U.S. is one of the only countries that requires expiration dates, most others do not. But, it is always best to check with your doctor or pharmacist. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

My serouqel is expired, how long after expiration can I use it ## Hello, Barb! How are you? This medication doesn't get dangerous, once expired, but it will start to lose effectiveness. How far expired is it? When was it filled? ## Hi, iam taking seroquel 2014 old. is that really bad and how? ## I checked this out too. What I see is Seroquel has a shelf life of 3 years. I recently ran out and am having a tough time getting refills. This is the second time I've run into this problem over the last few months. I found an older bottle of Seroquel from 2014 in my medicine cabinet. And I'm using that with no problem. ## Seroquel due to the way it is compounded is totally ineffective after three years or when it's expiry date claims it expires it is totally ineffective ## hello...

i have a partially used bottle of seroquel 100mg that expired on 1/15/15. is it still suitable to use? today's date is 3/4/15. ## Hi Jiffy, According to two different articles - one from Harvard University and the other from LA Times, many medications remain good for up to 10-40 years past the listed expiration date, depending on the substance and how it's stored...I don't have a complete list of these exact medications, nor do I encourage taking something that's been expired for quite some time - but seeing as your medication is less than two months old, my opinion is that it should have most if not all of its efficacy still intact. Found a bottle of tizanidine filled in 2015. Will it be safe to take? If so, will it still work? Also can you take seroquel with tizanidine? ## This medication does not become dangerous once expired, but it may start to lose efficacy, according to FDA reports. They can be taken together, if they have both been prescribed for you, but you may experience more severe side effects than usual, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, and confusion. When was it filled in 2015? Usually, the expiration date is a year from the date it was dispensed to you by your pharmacy. ## It was filled 4/2014 and it says expires on 4/2015. Sorry looked at the expiration instead date filled, so I guess that tells me its too old, right? Thanks for taking time to reply. So are they really bad? ## I have a bootle ...

When will 50 mg of quetiapine fumarate expire once the prescription is filled? ## Based on my research, Quetiapine fumarate has an expected shelf life of 36 months (or 3 years). However it's come to my knowledge from a Harvard Medical School family health article, that most medications can last up to 10-15 years without expressing many signs of degradation or loss in potency. So you shouldn't have any problems using it later down the road as long as it's stored properly. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Quetiapine Details I hope this helps! ## I was given a prescription of 100 mg seroquel in 2009 i stopped taking and have 1-bottle unopened still has safety seal on it. I was recently given a new prescription of same serouel from the same pharmacy my new meds...
