I've noticed that about a half an hour after taking my dose, my bladder starts leaking. I asked my cardiologist about it but she had not heard that before. My primary doctor suggested that this could be a side affect. ## Hello, Sandy! How are you? Yes, though it isn't common, the FDA does report that it has been known to occur in some women that take this medication. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension. You may need to speak to your cardiologist about trying a different medication. I'm taking Metoprolol (50mg) daily. I've experienced a noticeable measure of ED. I wasn't aware of this side effect when I started taking it. Is there another Beta blocker equally effective that does not cause any degree of ED? ## I am afraid that this can be a potential side effect of almost all blood pressure medications, so there is no way to tell you that any one will not cause any degree of ED. I recently had trouble with Metoprolol myself and my doctor recommended I switch to Carvedilol, it seems to cause less side effects and problems for people that have had trouble with Metoprolol. It is also more powerful, so you usually require half the dose of it, that you did of the Metoprolol. More information: Have you tried asking your doctor about alternatives?

I have been on bisoprolol for several months to control AFIB and hypertension. However, I do have asthma and have started wheezing and it does not go away. Metopolol did not work as well for the Afib. Is there another medication for the afib and blood pressure that would not cause the wheezing? ## Hello, Sani! How are you? Some of the other medications you can try include Carvedilol, Atenolol, Propranolol and Nadolol, however, they all risk causing the same side effects. It's really just a matter of trial and error to find which one works for you, without making you miserable. When I was going through that due to high blood pressure, it took almost a year to find the right ones for me. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increase...

Thank you.......... ## Propranolol is a beta blocker and almost all of the medications in this class are known to cause weight gain and hair loss as side effects in some people that take them. I am prescribed (2) tabs 25mg carvedilol, (1) tab amlodipine besyl 5mg,(1) tab potassium chloride 8meq sr, and (1) tab losartan k/hctz 100-25mg a day for HBP. I have been on this for past 8 years. I have severe leg/foot weakness and pain. I do not have diabetes but my family Doctor said it is probably neuropathy from unknown cause. This started since the onset of the meds. I also have poor balance. My pressure is under control but the effects are bad. Could the losartan be a major cause as I've heard a lot of negative issues with this med. ## According to NIH, the following symptoms are listed as known side effects of Losartan: -weakness or heaviness of the legs -unsteadiness or awkwardness -muscle pain or stiffness -numbness or tingling in the feet Source: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhe...

Hello. I was wondering if Coreg could affect my O2 levels? It just seemed that a few weeks after starting this medication my O2 level dropped to 85. I am now on O2 24/7, but all tests and imagery come back good, never smoke and my doctors do not agree on a diagnosis, maybe COPD but won't confirm. So I thought I would see if there was any connection since I passed all my tests including a stress test just before taking this medication for afib. Thanks. ## Whether or not it's listed as a side effect, I think because you noticed a change in O2 levels shortly after starting Coreg, that Coreg is likely to blame. Have you experienced any difficulty breathing since being on Coreg? According to NIH.gov, the following symptoms are listed as side effects of Coreg (Carvedilol): -rapid brea...
