I have been taking diclofenac for about 6 months. Had it filled at 2 different pharmacies who had different suppliers. One (Pack Pharmaceuticals) cost quite a bit more than the other (Actavis). Just curious if it is worth the extra money. Does anyone have a preference? Thanks! ## Which one worked best for you? That's what you really have to go by, since everyone is different. In theory, they are the same, but there can be some slight differences that may cause one to work better for you than another. Thus, if the more expensive one works better for you and is worth your money, then get that one. But if the other works better, then stick with it….or if they both affect you the same, there's really no point in spending more on it. Learn more Diclofenac details here. This med...

I was given diclofenaco 100mg in Mexico and I was pain free in 2 days. Can't count the pills I've taken over the years to no avail. Surgery and fusing is all my US doctors could see as a cure. Will taking diclofenac/misoprostol separately (generics for the drugs in Arthrotec) be as effective as taking them combined as one pill. It will be much less expensive to take 2 generics. ## It's possible, but hard to say, have you tried asking your doctor or pharmacist about this? The Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and the Misoprostol is there, really, just to help protect your stomach from the irritation and damage it may cause. what is the difference? They both are generics but cost different ## There is no difference, the DR and ER are both just abbreviations used to designate them as being time release products, but the medication is the same. The price difference is most likely just because they have been manufactured by different companies and it is normal for the price to differ from one to the other. There are generics available for the drugs that are in arthrotec and I am wondering if it will be as effective if I take them separately. It would be a lot less expensive. ## You can find Arthrotec 50 for about $ .50 per pill versus approximately 8 times that price from an americam drug company. These are made by Pharmicia Limited (a Pfizer subsidery) ## Yes, taking them separately will still work the same as taking them combined in one medication. It is often done, if it is cheaper for someone than buying the combined, or name brand medication. I have had headaches for about 30 years. I have been to many doctors and tried a dozen or so medications while spending well over $10,000 and having good insurance. Three years ago a neurologist proscribed Diclofinic pot 50. It worked like a charm! I was amazed. Now I get a letter saying effective 1/1/19 Humanna is not going to cover it, at all. Not put it another more expensive class but just not cover it at all. Does anyone know why? It’s not an opioid drug. They recommend Diclofinic sot? Never heard of it. Can someone please weigh in on this. I’m scared. ## Hello Kurtiss, According to the NIH Diclofenec pot 50 is simply a 50mg dose of diclofenac potassium, also known as cataflam.
