Betametasona/clotrimaol/Gentamicina. Will it work on dark spots on your face? ## This is a combination steroid, antibiotic and antifungal cream. And no, you shouldn't use it on your face, unless your doctor has specifically instructed you to do so, because there are some conditions that it may worsen. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## This is not a steroid cream... this cream is a generic to QUADRIDERM....which is another creme for infections and other diseases that US meds cant cure. We have been using this cream in our family for about 35 years. Quadriderm! ## Hey AL - just to let you know the betamethasone in the cream is a steroid. mixed with the other ingredients it is used to treat infection and reduce redness and inflammation. ## I had a very bad case of rosacea.w...

A doctor in mexico prescribed this for a rash i had on the back of my hand. I used the cream for a month till i could not see the rash anymore. Once i stopped using it, the rash tried to come back. Fortunately the rash slowly went away on its own after about 6 months. It's summer time now and appears the rash has completely went away. I hope so but continue to monitor it. ## I am using this medicine for ulcers on my legs and so far it is doing a good job. I live in Missouri. ## Thanks to you both for sharing your experiences with this cream. From what I could gather, the combination of Betametasona + Clotrimazol + Gentamicina is marketed towards treating various skin conditions such as pain, inflammation, redness, dryness, itching, bacterial/fungal infections, etc. Now it seems we c...

I live in San Antonio, Texas. Is this cream available in the States? And more importantly, is it safe? ## @ERQ, The combination of Betametasona [1] + Clotrimazol [2] + Gentamicina [3] is marketed towards treating various skin conditions such as pain, inflammation, itching, bacterial/fungal infections, etc. From what I've seen mentioned in another thread here, this cream is allegedly available with your doctor's prescription here in the US. However further reports suggest that it costs only a fraction of the price down in Mexico for the same ointment (i.e. $30 in the US and less than $2 in Mexico). Given this information, my suggestion would be to just get it prescribed in the US since the cost of driving to Mexico and back from Texas is probably a lot more than the difference yo...

I previously developed cellulitis, which started on my leg, I ended up going to my doctor and he prescribed antibiotics and an ointment and it did go away. That was three years ago. Recently I began feeling that same itch on my leg and figured it was coming back, and sure enough the rash is starting to develop. Before it gets any worse, would I be able to use this cream for cellulitis on my leg? ## Hello, Lorraine! How are you? It may help, but you should check with your doctor, first, especially since you may also need a systemic antibiotic. Are you on any other medications? The FDA lists its typical side effects as including skin redness, irritation and dry skin. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have an abcess. Can I use this cream for an abcess?

I would like to know where I can find it here in Los Angeles, Ca. ## Hello, Muffin! How are you? This isn't available in the U.S., though the ingredients are, but by prescription only. The Betamethasone is a potent steroid, so there can be some risks associated with using it, such as CHF. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Kind of a late reply, nevertheless this cream is actually broadly AVAILABLE in LOS ANGELES! I use it whenever I need it, really not that hard to get a prescription in the L.A area.

I suffer from psoriasis and a friend picked up a couple of tubes for $2 each in Mexico its better that gold to me.At first it took it all away now it just helps keep it under control.Love this stuff and I have had no side effects that i've noticed. ## That's great you were able to find something that worked so well for your psoriasis! My brother used to have it all over his arms and ended up getting light treatments until it was gone; and hasn't came back since. It's just good to know that there are some other options out there for treating this sort of skin disease. Does this cream contain alcohol? I would like to know if this cream contains alcohol. ## Hi Maria, In order to determine the list of inactive ingredients one would need to know who the manufacturer is or at least have a product on hand to check the label. Generic Betametasona + Clotrimazol + Gentamicina cream may contain any set of fillers if there's no way to identify who makes it or what the actual packaging has on it. However I do see that one company by the name of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals does use a combination of "benzyl alcohol + cetyl alcohol + stearyl alcohol" in their particular Clotrimazole + Betamethasone dipropionate cream [minus the Gentamicina]. So I think it would be normal to assume that they use alcohol in similar products, but you should probably contact t...

I cut my nose with my nail and I decided to put A & D on it. I spread it around my nostril and within two days it blistered the area and now I have redness and what looks like an infection. Will this reduce the blisters and heal my cut? ## Hello, Paully! How are you doing? No, that likely wouldn't be a good idea. You should see your doctor. Have you ever gotten cold sores? If so, you can also get them in the nose area and, sometimes, trauma such as that will cause a flare according to the NIH. If that's what has happened, the steroid in the cream you've mentioned can actually make it worse. ## Can i use betametasona clotrimazol gentamicina for a cold sore? ## For those who want to know where to buy quadriderm, you should be able to find it in most small Spanish stores be...

I used this cream for an allergic reaction to an antibiotic a few months ago at the suggestion of a pharmacist. (I livein Mexico). Now I have an allergic reaction to Ibuprofen that looks the same - red blotches on my face and chest. Will it work for this, too? ## Hi Lilly, Based on my research, Clotrimazole/betamethasone cream can be used to relieve redness, itching, and swelling due to infection. It is a combination of an anti fungal and corticosteroid- which can help to reduce inflammation and help prevent the release of symptom-causing chemicals due to an allergic reaction. Antibiotics are very strong in relation to Ibuprofen, therefore, if this cream worked for a reaction you had to an antibiotic I imagine that it could also help you with the allergic reaction that Ibuprofen caused....

I have fungus in my hand just in one finger and I want to know if it'll take it off I used it before and it made it disappear but now it came back ## Hello, Cris! How are you? Actually, if the fungus is returning, then I'd suggest seeing your doctor. This might not be the right medication to fully eradicate it for you. Additionally, the steroid in this may actually worsen some conditions, as well as cause the side effects listed in the PDR, like skin irritation, redness, rash, acne and dizziness. Was this prescribed by your doctor, or just something you decided to try yourself? Has your doctor diagnosed it as a fungus? What type of symptoms do you have? ## Well like its only on one hand and it went away for a couples of months and then it disappeared and it came back , its only ...

Can I use betametasona clotrimazol gentamicina for underarm fungus/darkening? It itches from time to time, but my biggest problem is my skin is dark/black. Will this cream help? ## Hello, Johnny! How are you? Have you consulted your doctor? Before trying to treat it with anything, you need to see if there's a problem, such as a fungus, that's caused it, and if so it can be treated properly. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this ointment as including skin rash, redness, dryness and acne. The steroids in this may actually worsen some conditions, if used improperly.

Could you please let us know how and where we can obtain a couple of tubes of Betametasona Clotrimazol Gentamicina ASAP!!! I don't know where it is available to buy, but we would greatly appreciate any details. Thank you sooooo much, Cindy ## Hi Cindy, The medication which you are referring to contains Betamethasone + Clotrimazole + Gentamicin. This specific combination of active ingredients is not sold as-is in the United States, which is probably why the label is in Spanish. I think you have a couple of options. (1) See if you can get a doctor's prescription and have a local pharmacy compound it for you (2) If you travel to Mexico you should be able to bring the product back through customs provided it is for personal use You might also find a related discussion thread to be h...

I have psoriasis really bad and this cream is the only cream that helps me. Where can I find this cream? ## Hello, Alexander! How are you? I'm sorry, but this medication is not available in the U.S. The FDA is generally not happy with these types of combinations. Have you spoken to your doctor? My guess would be that your psoriasis might be responding to the Betamethasone, which the FDA classifies as a steroid and it is available here, but only by prescription. Its typical side effects may possibly include skin irritation, redness, rash and itching.

can I used this medication for a yeast infextion? I don't have any symptoms on the inside \, just curious? ## Hello, Sadie! How are you? No, the Gentamicin is an antibiotic that can actually cause them or worsen an existing one. To treat a yeast infection, you need an antifungal medication. What types of symptoms are you having?

I've used betametasona clotrimazol gentamicina ( Gelmicin Brand) For years specifically for itching in my crevices due to being overweight. Now a few years later I've have very thin skin in those crevices and I didn't realize that this cream had steroids! Should I assume this is what caused the thinning of my skin? Totally transparent in those areas specifically underneath my breasts. ## It is possible, though there's no way to say with certainty, but Betamethasone has been known to cause skin issues as side effects, including acne, and there are known to worsen with long-term use. Other side effects can include redness, and flaking. Are you on any other medications? Do you use any other creams, or ointments regularly?

I have jock itch and I've tried a couple things, but I feel like this one helped me due to it not being super itchy anymore. Also is it safe to use if it's around the testicular area? ## Hi benjasmin, I'm glad to hear that you're able to find relief by using this cream and hope it continues to work well for you. Re: "Is it safe to use if it's around the testicular area?" - There have been reports of skin sensitivities, skin irritations, and acne, but I have not read any specific details stating that it's harmful. And this is not to say that you'll even experience such side effects, rather it's just something to be mindful of when applying it. If you did encounter these symptoms, my guess is that they'd probably dissipate after so many days of ...
