What does Metformin 1000 mg look like in all forms? ## Metformin is a generic medication, so it is manufactured by several different companies and they will all have different markings to enable their identification, thus there is really no way I could post what all of them look like and the descriptions. I haven't come across any specific details on what "HER" would stand for after the drug name. Are you sure it doesn't just say "ER" for extended release? Other than the obvious difference in the dosage you mentioned, the presence of Hydrochloride appears to be the primary difference between the two tablets. Outside of that, there might also be a different set of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) used. Although, one would have to look up the pill ID in order to get more information on that.
