i have never tried this medicine, but my dr has presribed OPANA ER for me...even though i wanted the direct release...what are the efects? ## The effects of this will be similar to the direct release or any other opiate narcotic, this is just a time released version, so it slowly releases the dose over a certain time period, which means it takes about 20 minutes or so to start working in your body, but lasts much longer in your system than the instant release. ARE THEY ALSO GOING TO DO AWAY WITH THE OPANA ER 20 MG.??? ## The name brand is on back order and has been for a very long time however Roxanne Labs makes a generic that in my opinion works even better & I usually never take any generics. I have been on Opana for 4 years now and have been happy with the Generic vs the Endo brand. Plus ever since Endo change the ER Formula I am more then happy to not give them my business ...

im just wondering what the comp of the orange shell of opana is ## Hi eric, What is the imprint on this specific Opana pill? I only ask because each manufacturer may have completely different inactive ingredients listed; which help determine what the pill is made up of. There are a few different orange Opana pills; one of them marked "E674 10" has the following list of inactive ingredients: hypromellose ferric oxide black methylparaben propylene glycol silicified microcrystalline cellulose sodium stearyl fumarate TIMERx-N titanium dioxide triacetin polysorbate 80 FD&C Yellow No. 6 As I stated above, this list may be different with another orange Opana pill from a different manufacturer; so please post back if you can provide more details on the description of your pill. Please help me, I am getting prescribed opana and i want to know if it exists in a 30mg form, and if so, what the inscription is supposed to be? ## @the queen, To answer your question, 30mg Opana "ER" tabs do in fact exist. However they are not white as you mentioned in your description. They are actually depicted as being red in color and also eight-sided. As far as the imprint is concerned, the one's I'm finding made by Endo Pharmaceuticals have the number 30 on one side and are blank on the other. Just out of curiosity, what is it about the one's being prescribed that makes you question their appearance? ## She had the color wrong because somebody ripped her off telling her a 30 mg opana is white... Has anybody tried OPANA VS OC 80s. Any feedback would be helpful ## What dosage of the Opana? The Oxymorphone in it is actually twice as strong as the Oxycodone, so if you were taking 40mgs of it, then the equivalent dose of Oxycodone would be 80mgs. Both can be effective at controlling pain, it just requires a dosage adjustment. You should also know that there are no more Oxycontin OCs. Purdue has changed the formulation and they are now Oxycontin OP. Are there any questions or comments? Does anyone else have advice to add? ## i have and they work fair for pain but made me very tired. ## DO NOT GET THE NEW OPANA 40MG ER, THEY ARE JUCK A LORTAB 10/325 WORK BETTER BEFORE A OPANA WOULD BLOW OXYCONTIN THE NEW ONE (OP)AWAY BUT NOT NOW,MY DR PUT ME BACK ON THE NEW OPANA DO NOT WORK IN 2 WEEK... ...

i wanted to know when this will be available to the public? ## It was approved to treat moderate to severe pain by the FDA on or before June 23rd of this year. So it is simply at matter now of getting docs to prescribe it, and pharmacies to get it stocked on their shelves. It contains Oxymorphone Hydrochloride and there will be two forms available, an Extended Release for long-term pain control, and an instant release version. Here's the article announcing its approval from WebMd: FDA OKs the Pain Drug Opana This is an opiod drug, so it will be strictly controlled and regulated just like other narcotics, no refills, and you will have to see your doctor every month to get a new scrip to use it.  Opana Oxymorphone Hydrochloride
Oxymorphone, sold under the brand names Numorphan among others, is a powerful semi-synthetic opioid analgesic (painkiller) developed in Germany in 1914. Pain relief after injection begins after about 5–10 minutes and 15–30 minutes after rectal administration, and lasts about 3–4 hours for immediate-release tablets and 12 hours for extended-release tablets.[2] It is highly addictive and in June 2017 the FDA asked the manufacturer to remove its product from the US market.[4] T...

Is there a opana that is 30 mg and is round and white ## Hello, Nick! How are you? No, the 30mg tablets are listed as being colored. What are the markings on the pill in question? That is what would enable me to identify it for you. The FDA classifies Opana as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ...

I am in pain management and I currently take oxy 30mg 3x's a day... my doctor is willing to switch me to something else if I want, since the oxys do not provide enough relief. when I asked her what kind of dose I would start at the only thing she would match mg for mg would be morphine..opana she will only start me at 20mg 2 per day. does anyone know if this would be equal to the oxy I take now?? I have read all about how opana is supposed to be about twice as strong as oxy but still I was afraid to switch.. also, does opana " feel " the same as oxy??? thanks to all for reading and replying, HOUSE ## Hello, House! How are you? Morphine is actually weaker than Oxycodone, so matching mg for mg likely won't work. If you were taking 30mgs of Oxycontin, you'd need 45mgs o... ...

I have severe RA, hip and femur full of bullet fragments and severe muscle loss. I have been taking 3 x's a day mscontin 30mg. Dr put me on 30mg of Opana 2 x's daily. I took first 2hours and not helping yet with my pain. How long does it take to kick in fully? Thank you ## The ER designates it as being a time released medication, so it doesn't all take effect, at once, it is slowly released over a period of time, but you should start to feel some relief within a few minutes of taking it. Has there been any change? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. ...

I do not know why anyone hasn't mentoned methadone ? Opana. Diaudid are both IR drugs. The pain relief never lasts long and tolerance develops quickly. Methadone is an instant release medication whose long half life cannot be beat. There is a new law or regulation that if your pain management Doctor has you on methadone that an EKG has to be done each year. Evidently methadone can contribute to heart arythmias but lower dose's ( under 80mg ) seem to be fine. 80 mg of methadone will keep almost anyone pain free ( and possibly asleep) and the duration is 24 hours. I was on methadone maintenance for years but not for chronic pain I am an addict but now in recovery from all drugs and etoh but methadone is a great pain medication for chronic pain sufferers but has a bad reputation be... ...
