I am a 32 yr. old female who is on methadone maitnance. I did 8 dilaudid yesterday and had a drug test today. Someone told me that dilaudid shows up as methadone on a drug screen, is that true or will I loose my take home status for being dirty? ## what happened? ## She likely tested positive for hydromorphone. No other drug shows up as Methadone because they test specifically for Methadone and the metabolite of Methadone. ## No it doesn't show up as methadone. It shows up as an opiate. I take one 2mg Dilaudid at night at 7pm regularly with one 50mg Amitriptyline and two 500mg of Tylenol. When I saw the Dr the next morning he wanted a urine test. He said that he could not detect the presence of Dilaudid in my urine. Why is this so? ## I Googled my dilemma and the result was the reason, that the hydomorphone 2mg was (short acting) which would be out of the system in 6 hrs ## Concerning my previous post, I had printed out my research and showed it to the Dr. He was satisfied with that.

I went to my pain doctor today, and received a drug screen. I only take diluadid 2mg 2ce a day and took one about an hour and a half before I went to the doctor. When I went back into the room with the nurse practioner she said I failed my drug screen for Morphine and Codine. I've not taken anything but dilaudid and also neuroton that they prescribe me. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!?!? Does dilaudid metabolize into morphine in your system a little while after you take it? my drug screen came back positive for dilaudid which i have never taken. i do take loratab & soma along with blood preesure meds and statins. i have also been taking antibiotics & nyquill, dayquill, & alkaseltzer cold plus for bronchitis. could this make the test come back positive? ## In this case, it may have been the NyQuil, it has been shown to cause false positives for many substances on drug tests, including various opiates. I take dilaudid 4mg 5x's a day which are prescribed through my pain management Dr.. I ran out so I started taking Norco (lortab) 10/325 which I was told will be safe when I go to my next pain management appointment and go through my drug screen that they will show the same thing... I need to know why this is not showing up on my urine test. i have had about five tests and they all come out negative. ## I take 2 mg of Dilaudid almost every evening for chronic pain & 2 mg of Clonazapam at bedtime each night. I had severe diarrhea from magnesium for 3 wks to 4 wks. I was in ER x2 for dehydration, nausea, vomiting & diarrhea. I have an appointment with my pain clinic Friday at 4pm. I've been seeing pain drs for many yrs due to several severely painful immune related diseases & rarely get uaed, but this will be the 1st time I'll see this particular dr so am not sure if I will this time. I been taking 4 10 mg. loratab for years for broke back. This month I ran out.
