I have morphine sulfate tablet (100)mg and wanted to know what CR means? I know the R is for release but what is the C stand for?, Thanks ## Controlled, this means that it's a time released formulation, which would be a generic for MS Contin, other similar markings that mean the same thing are XR, SR and ER. This is a narcotic, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. Learn more: Is there anything else I can help with?

Round grey Pill with m on one side and 100 on the other ## Hello, Scott! How are you? That matches the description of a time releases 100mg Morphine tablet that's manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What leads you to believe that it's fake? ## There not fake there time release tabs . Which means you will control the pain for 12 hours .

Can a 10mg morphine pill have NO markings or NO coating on it? Also does it melt on your tounge? ## No, all Morphine tablets have markings on them, to enable their identification and there aren't any that are meant to be dissolved in the mouth, in the U.S. Two that are commonly designed as sublingual tablets are Suboxone and some forms of Methadone, but even those in the U.S. have markings on them to enable their identification. However, all of this information isn't relevant to foreign medications, because other countries have their own laws. Does anyone else have any ideas what this might be? ## i have some small white pillswith an M on one side an #4 on lthe outher , what would thay be

My Dr doesn't want to treat my chronic pain cause she says it's untreatable...? Here's what she's done in the meantime, she prescribed 10mg max 3 per day of Morphine sulfate and she thinks that's a high dose, which does nothing for me. I've had my right knee replacement done 3yrs ago and my left knee being scheduled this fall. The pain is unbelievably awful. Pain is shooting from my knee up into my thigh and lower back. I've had over twenty surgeries so far in other areas of my body including amputations. The new doctors won't help people in pain anymore. Ridiculous. ## Hello, Joey! How are you? Have you tried seeing if you can consult a different doctor? Someone else might help more. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has t...

I keep reading that fentanyl is 80% stronger then morphine. However, most people are talking 100 mcg fentanyl patch over 72 hours, so now I wonder what this means? How much morphine totals fentanyl in 3 days? Confusing eh, anybody know?? I am on the 100 mcg patch every 3 days and have 4 mgs hydromorphone every day for back up pain. I don’t like the hydromorphone, I believe it’s making me constipated and I have to take meds for constipation now. I've been on this for over a year. I have stage 4 rectal cancer. I like the fentanyl and it works, but it’s weak when spread out over 3 days. I'm thinking of asking my doctor to let me take one type of opioid instead of two high doses. I’ll leave it up to the doctor but I’ll suggest maybe giving me 75 mcg eve...

Does liquid morphine come in a blue color? ## Colors actually mean nothing, it is entirely up to the manufacturer and what they wish to make it look like. So, it is highly possible that it could be blue, clear or any other color. Why do you ask? Etoshine contains the active ingredient Etoricoxib, this is a COX-2 Selective Inhibitor, used to treat pain and inflammation. ## The liquid morphine I have is yellow in color. Is this really morphine? ## Does it come in purple liquid? ## What color is the 100 mg liquid morphine made by a company called Lanette? I have an old bottle I found in a house I just moved into.

Just prescribed for on Morphine Sulfate SA. Would like to know to what effect this will be different from 4-10 mg hydrocodone/500 APAP, daily ? ## They are both narcotics, so the side effects are going to be very similar, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. However, the SA stands for sustained action, so the Morphine is a time released product that is meant to help give you better pain control. Is there anything else I can help with?

My doc has changed my pain meds. I am taking 90 mgs. a day, and have been for 6 months. It doesn't work anymore. (Nerve damage from 5 failed back surgers and scarring from healing attempts.) He put me on 100mgs of MS Contin twice a day. I NEED to know what if anything I need to know about the transition. Scared as it a high dose. ## email me i have a question ## you're suppossed to get 100 mg of morphine to every 10 mg of methadone which means you should get 900 mg a day. Same thing happened to my wife. You need300 mg every 8 hours ## Pip is actually very accurate, Methadone is much stronger than Morphine and, if you've been taking 90mgs of the Methadone a day, you will need 337.5mgs of Morphine in a day to be at an equivalent dose. A twice daily dosing would require around ...

I'm taking norco 10 mg 3 x day. I was taking 5 mg oxycodone along with the Norco at different times. I was starting to get no pain relief. My doctor recently changed me to 15 mg ir morphine tabs and now because it was not relieving the pain increased it to 30 mg er morphine taking it every 12 hrs. It's making me sick and not relieving the pain. Can I cut the er morphine pills in half safely. I'm still taking the Norco as needed. I've been taking pain Meds for 7 yrs for chronic pain and I can't go on like this. ## No, the ER means that they are time released, so it is not safe to cut or break them. Doing so could cause you to get too much of the medication at once, which creates the risk of overdose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it ha...

I understand oxycodone is 1.5x stronger than morphine, but does that take the oral bioavailability into account? I've seen someone say 20mg of oxycodone is equivalent to 30mg of morphine, but is that taking into account that only 30% of the morphine is absorbed by the body whereas with oxycodone it's about 80% So when taking 30mg of morphine you're body is really only getting about 9mg but when taking 20mg of oxycodone you're getting 16mg of it absorbed into your body. I think I am going to be switched from 30mg of Morphine to 10mg of Oxycodone, in terms of bioavailability that means instead of my body getting 9mg of morphine, I'll be getting 8mg of oxycodone instead. Will this be as effective? ## Yes, all of this is taken into account, when the medications are studi...

My doctor put me on the morphine to try to wean me down from taking 4 percocets to 3. I took my first morphine at midnight - and I still feel pretty good 10 hours later. My question is, how is the morphine released into my blood stream? i.e. do I feel relief immediately - or 45 mins later and then every 1/2 hour or so more is released? Maybe this benefit of 10 to 12 hours relief will dissipate over the next few days to lasting only 5-6 hours? I meant to preface this by saying I'm taking the percocets for a laminectomy fail. ## Since it is a time released medication, it is generally released by absorbing some of your stomach acid, or other fluids you drink. Think of it like a sponge that is very gradually absorbing fluids from one spot, and as it is expanding it's forcing the med...

I have reduced my pain medication over the past few years from around 8-10 immediate release Percocet a day, (which in retrospect seems kinda crazy for my intractable pain), to 3 morphine er 30's a day, with 2 15mg IR's for breakthrough pain. Desperately trying to reduce them had been MY desire, not doctors. That being said, my constant, chronic pain was hard to manage at 3 ER's a day, so my doctor had raised then to 4 a day. That dosage seemed perfect for me, and after a long time, had enabled me to work and try to get my life back on track after years of suffering. I've moved recently, (which means new doctors, so you know the drill), and he had immediately reduced what was finally working, back down to 3 a day. I should mention that just before moving, I had requested th

Hello, My name is mark. my doctor said that the new drug laws only allow for 200 mg of a opioid daily. I currently am on 4-30mg oxycodone and 2- 30mg 30mg morphine sulphate. He say's that he is going to have to remove 1 30mg of the morphine because it add's up to 220 mg daily. This makes no since to me because I take 1 long term in the morning and before bed I take the second, Is my doctor correct, becouse that means I will have nothing in the morning which will increase my pain level thru out the day? ## Hello, Mike/Mark! How are you? The new directives from the DEA are supposed to be the equivalent of no more than 120mgs of Morphine a day, though some states have lowered that further to no more than the equivalent of 100mgs, thus your doctor really has no choice, sadly enough.
