I was put on the 6 day methylprednisolone pack because of a back injury. I just took my first two tablets this morning. After I took them, I read its bad to take with high blood pressure. I have high blood pressure and take lisinopril for this but it doesn't always control it. Would I be okay just not to take any more of the pills? I only took the two, that's all. I would rather not take this medication after hearing all the side effects. ## Hello, Amy! How are you? How high is your blood pressure? There are cases where it may still be appropriate to take this medication, generally the doctor needs to evaluate whether or not the benefits outweigh the possible risks. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne and edema. Ho...

I have been on Methotrexate and folic acid for 3 weeks. Started with three 2.5 mg tablets of MTX for two weeks, then up to 6 tablets this week. The first week, I had terrible stomach pains, the second week I had bad fatigue. After taking my 6 pills on Friday, the side effects have been bad: nausea, no vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, back and right side pain and a rash. I finally reached the doctor on call in my practice (Memorial Day), and his comment was that it didn't look like I could take 6. My question is this, if you have switched to the injectable MTX, did you have less side effects, and at what point in your treatment did you switch? ## Hi my son started taking the injection 3 weeks ago he have had some stomach pain but no nausea. His doc told me pills have way more side e...

I have been weaning myself off Methadone! I was taking 10mgs 3 times a day. I am now down to less than one tablet a day and will continue until I can say goodby Methadone and I never want to see you again. Now to my real problem. Last week my doctor gave me the Fentanyl 25 MCG/HR Patch MYL. I need something to help with the pain I still have, although the Lyrica and Cymbalta have really helped. I did not know when she gave the Fentanyl Patch to me that I would have to taper off and that it carried baggage of bad side affects. I have read the messages here and have decided not to use the Fentanyl. Thanks to everyone! ## Sorry, I forgot to tell you that I have Fibromyalgia and IT IS REAL!!!!!!!!! ## That is true, the Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic, over 80 times stronger than Morphine...

Will 10 mg methadone work to relieve bad toothache pain? ## Hello, Eddie! How are you? It is an opiate analgesic, so it can alleviate pain just like the other opiates that are available. The FDA classifies this as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, you shouldn't take it, unless your doctor has prescribed it for you, due to the danger of overdose if you aren't opiate tolerant and it's great addictive potential. Is there anything else I can help with? ## All methadone should be burned 3 times and buried. It's addictive and does nothing for pain. No more methadone should ever be produced

What side effects have been experienced with this drug? I have been advised to take Repatha. Since I am sensitive, and had a bad experience with another Amgen drug, I am skeptical. What have others experienced? ## What other medication did you have a problem with? Reactions to a medication are usually due to an ingredient, and are rarely manufacturer dependent. Repatha is used to treat high LDL cholesterol, many of these types of medications are known to cause some very annoying side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and joint/muscle aches. Are you on any other medications? ## Currently I take Rosuvastatin, my Cholesterol has come way down to almost perfect, but I fo have a plaque problem. I hav...

Is it OK to take these together not at same time. I have been prescribed methadone for my pain for several years but I have needed Valium for my spasms and I also have anxiety fairly bad plus it calms my brain down at night so I can relax and sleep and that makes me feel better anyway I have discussed this with my primary dr. And my pain dr. And they both don't really want me taking it with my pain medication. Does anybody else have this problem. Because my life would truly benefit from taking them. Thanks in advance for any input ## The main issue is due to the aggravation of the side effects, taking them together can cause depression of the central nervous system, which could cause more sedation, drowsiness, and dizziness than usual. In some cases, it could result in your blood pr...

I was taking 69 mg methadone every morning at the clinic I've been going down 2 mg a week I'm at 8mg now till Friday am I gonna get sick or do OK with no withdrawls ## Hello, Jaymee! How are you? Methadone is notorious for causing bad withdrawals, even at very low doses, which is why many people treated with it end up on a lifetime maintenance dose of it and never truly become drug free. I can't say that you're going to have problems, but there is a definite chance that you still might. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are they stopping you at the 8mg dose?

I am a 30 year old female and in the beginning of March 2013 I got terribly sick with some sort of cold paired with a severe sinus infection. I was prescribed Methylprednisolone 4mg dose pack. I completed that with only minor side effects however it didn't really work and I was back at the doctor a mere week later feeling just as bad. I was then prescribed Prednisone 20mg tablets, taking 3 daily for 5 days. It helped my symptoms and I felt better. However, my last dose was Sunday 3/17/2013 and today is Wednesday 3/20/2013 and I am feeling incredibly strange. I feel weak, tired, irritable, depressed, dizzy and light-headed at times, off balance and I am getting mild headaches. I'm also moody and have a short temper.
