Day 10. 150 mg. Have some more energy, sleep less. Maybe a little more positive outlook, but still waiting for it to kick in. My bigger question is..whats with the prices of up to 400 dollars A MONTH?! What the hell?? The original name brand here in the EU is 10 euros for a monthly supply. In Estonia atleast. The price you guys pay is like something that you pay for cancer treatment. And our average wage is something around 20k USD per year..

Do pay attention to the company brand names. I've been on Sandoz brand for years with no problem. In fact, I was doing pretty good. Then my pharmacy closed or retired. The new pharmacy sent me Mylan brand, a blue color with an M non it. They make me lethargic and doped. So generic companies ingredients are not all exactly the same. ## I started taking the blue pill by mylan a week ago and do not like it. It makes me irritable, dizzy, anxious. I was taking the generic brand by Watson before that for 2 weeks and I felt great. Not waking up depressed or feeling down. ## @Just Wanted to Help, You are right, inactive ingredients are not always exactly the same in generics as well as other brand names. It has come to my understanding that they can also have an affect on bioavailability, m...

My pharmacists gave me teva buproprion Xl 150 which stayed on the market after the 300mg dose was withdrawn. It has a different absorption profile than the brand name and I'm wary of it. Any insights? ## The only thing you can really do is try it and see how it works for you. Learn more Bupropion details here. If you experience any unusual side effects, or it doesn't seem to work, then make sure to inform your doctor and pharmacist. Have you taken any yet? ## No not yet. Starting Sunday. The brand is $118 even with insurance, so I plan to try the generic to see if it works. Thanks for the comment. ## Been on it 4 days now. A little dry mouth, a little headachy, a little more energy, possibly loose stool but that's a rare side effect. Could just be something I ate. It's e...

wondering about pill appearance and markings /color on the canadian version ## Just as it is in the U.S. this medication is available as both a generic and name brand in Canada. This means there are many on the market and they will all have different markings. Can you post back with the markings on the tablet you are asking about, so I can look it up for you?

is there a difference in wellbutrin and wellbutrin 150mg sr tab actavissou? i was taking the regular wellbutrin then my new prescriptson is the tab sr. a round pale yellow pill. other coment said it causes sezures? ## Brandy, the "SR" means sustained release, meaning that you take a single larger dosage less often because it is gradually released in your body. There is a minor risk of seizures as a possible side effect of this medication - the chances of it are low but do increase with a higher dose. I'd say since you are starting this new dosage that you either make sure you're around others, or at least have your doc on speed dial to report any side effects. More details about this medication are available at: Hope this helps and good luck!

FYI: The drug manufacturer Watson bought out Activist. Watson "made a business decision" to no longer produce the Watson generic brand of Wellbutrin and only produce the Activist version. Watson was the brand that worked for me (I've tried many) so it's unfortunate they have made this business decision. I've called the company to request they continue to manufacture the Watson version. Anyone going through the same situation may want to call Watson 1-800-272-5525. *** if anyone takes a generic that doesn't work they should notify the F.D.A. 1-855-543-3784. ## Thank you for sharing this info Trace. Ever since Actavis bought out Watson, it seems like most of their meds have all started to go down hill. I mean if they're making these kinds of business decisions ...

Please help me to understand exactly what drug I'm really taking. I was prescribed Wellbutrin, but was given Bupropion HCL. At the bottom of the bottle, it says substituted for Wellbutrin TBS B/W. When I look up Bupropion HCL I'm shown Zyban. Thank you for any help. ## Hello, Mimi! How are you? They are all the same. Wellbutrin and Zyban are both just brand names for Bupropion. The FDA lists it as being an antidepressant that can also help with smoking cessation. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, insomnia and nervousness. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi, Sweetie, I'm doing okay, thanks. I appreciate your advice. Embarrassing question, will it cause very bad gas also? ## You're very welcome! And yes, it can do that i...

little tiny white pills to loose wieght &quit smoking ## how does wellbutrin 150mg help you to quit smoking? HOW DO YOU KNOW ITS WORKING ## It is not usually a tiny pill, they are usually a bit bigger and thicker than an Aspirin. Are there any markings on the tablets? Can you please post back and clarify? Sissy, overall it is an antidepressant that can also help reduce the cravings to smoke. Years ago, it was frequently sold under the brand name Zyban, specifically to help with smoking cessation. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, headache, dry mouth, nervousness, and weight loss.

children found pills in a home with supervised visits- found out they were some sort of generic wellbutrin; but need to know what brand they are, the makers and any info you may have, i need to research this and cannot find a whole lot on it. The pills are white, round, words- WPI 839 on the pill. need to know the dosage on this particular pill. Thank you it would be so much help if you can find any thing on this pill. ## Here is some more info for you: The drug Bupropion is indeed the generic chemical form of Wellbutrin. It is classified as an antidepressant and is commonly used to stop smoking. The imprint WPI 839 indicates that it is the 150 mg Extended Release Tablets. Hope this helps! Liza ## To add some more specifics, this tablet was manufactured by Watson Pharmaceuticals, and th...

I have read all the problems people are having with the generic versions of the Wellbutrin XL but I have had similar problems with the change in generics for Wellbutrin SR. I originally took 300 to 400 mgs of Wellbutrin SR manufactured by Watson. I have had several changes but did okay on the Wellbutrin by Watson and Sandoz. I went into a deep depression when I was switched to the Mylan but my insurance at first denied a different brand. Now they will switch to another generic with a special process. Has anyone experienced any side effects or improvement with the generic by Activis? ## Hello, Sorry to hear about your problems switching between all those manufacturers. It is however important to know that everyone reacts differently to these types of medications. So while one generic may...

FYI, see: fda.gov / Drugs / DrugSafety / PostmarketDrugSafetyInformationforPatientsandProviders / ucm322161.htm?source=govdelivery They also have a Q&A on what this means: fda.gov / Drugs / DrugSafety / PostmarketDrugSafetyInformationforPatientsandProviders / ucm322160.htm?source=govdelivery ## For anyone looking for information on this, it is referring to the product from one specific manufacturer, not all generics that are on the market. The one they have found to not be equivalent is the one manufactured by Teva and marketed by Impax. Thank you, LadyluckVA for posting the information, it is much appreciated. I just wanted to clarify so that people taking tablets made by a different company don't panic thinking they have a problem. :-) The ones under concern are sold under the...

I took one (1) week of the new generic drug (Budeprion XL) and went to my doctor's appointment. She told me that the Wellbutrin XL now has a generic pill but I was not to take the generic. I told her I had just refilled my prescription and received the generic brand, so she wrote a new prescription for Brand Only. I don't know what the difference is, but thought it might be useful information for someone out there. ## I know this was submitted years ago, but still today, in 2011, I can not take the generic Wellbutrin. I have tried here and there over 6 years to take the generic and it is like I am not taking anything. My insurance pays almost nothing toward the brand and I pay $280 a month out of pocket, but this medication works so well for me, that it is worth it. I have howev...

I've been taking Wellbutrin XL 150 (brand name) for 2 weeks. Will I experience withdrawal symptoms (weight gain) if i stop now? ## Hello, Luckytr! How are you? No, there shouldn't be any severe withdrawal symptoms, after such a short period of time, but it's always best to double check with your doctor to be sure. Weight gain wouldn't be considered a withdrawal symptom. As listed by the FDA, they usually include nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and depression. Is there anything else I can help with?

I started on bupropion xl 300 (brand zydus) on sept 14th this year for depression. It helped gradually over the month and by one month in I was feeling alot better. I went to pick up my refill and didnt notice until I got home that they gave me a different brand. It was bupropion xl 300 (brand actavis). While taking this new brand I seemed to gradually be getting my depression feelings back. I then found direct success and my doctor sent in a prescription for the brand name wellbutrin xl 300. I took it only 3 days but it was almost like I was not taking anything. I had all my symptoms back! Should I continue on the brand name because everyone says it's the best or go back to the one that worked? I am so confused as to why the brand name wellbutrin works so well for everyone but me. ...

The new bottle I received today contained an oblong pill manufactured by Clipla USA. I have been taking a round pill manufactured by PAR. Are these the same except the manufacturer? ## I have always taken Par (their subsidiary Anchen made the bupropion). Today I was told Par has stopped making it and was given Cipla. I have had major issues with other generic brands of Wellbutrin and am nervous about not having Par/Anchen anymore. The other generics were not the same, and bupropion historically has been the subject of many issues with inequitable generics. ## Hello, Kathryn and MK! What are the markings on the pills in question? Sometimes what's listed by the pharmacy is a licensed distributor, rather than the actual manufacturer. Have either of you tried it? If so, is it working fo...

I am prescribed wellbutrin 150 my XL. First month took 1 tab once a day. Got my period. Month two: I took tab every other day because of the other side effects (almost all of them except for seizures and other really serious one... even had a metallic taste in my mouth)... got my period. Following month I took one tab every day ... no period... I had to start taking birth control so i could "manipulate" my period ( romantic get away). This month taking the one tab daily ... now I am 4 days late. Took a pregnancy test ($ 4 Walmart brand) day after missed period... got a negative. I was told by a Nurse that it was too early to take the test and that is why I got a negative. She suggested wait at least 7-10 days and test again. Any thoughts, any advice, any medical professionals ou...

Has anyone else had bad experiences with the Zydus Wellbutrin XL? I responded really well to 2x150mg of the Activis brand, for about 6 weeks but 10 days on Zydus 300mg was like coming off it all cold turkey. Nothing done, scatterbrained, tearful and like I was back at square one! Thank God my Walgreen pharmacist had heard this before, called my Dr to get a new Rx for 2x150 Activis and squared it away with my insurance company. Is there anything that can be done? ## I had a 3 month supply of zydus wellbutrin...and it is summer and I feel the most depressed I have felt in a long time. I saw your post and I am going to talk to walgreens and see if I can't try another prescription. I have gained weight and thought when summer came I would feel better. But yesterday was my birthday and I...
