Watson 853 The White Ones

So recently I received a white Watson 853 that looks identical to the yellow ones; size, shape, imprint. Everything checks out except it does not feel as strong as the yellow. I was then told that Watson is not manufacturing yellow ones anymore so I checked the Watson/actavis website. They had no info on white 853. Are these fake? ## Hi Michael, Where a bouts did you get the pill from? If you didn't purchase it from an authorized seller, you could most definitely have a counterfeit. The only other thing I can think of, is that it may just be an old version that is no longer on the market. I believe Actavis pharmaceuticals now owns Watson pharmaceuticals so here is a link to the contact page of Actavis Pharma's website if you'd like to ask them about the pill you have: actavi...

I have taken both and let me say that there is nothing different in the white Watson's vs the yellow ones except the yellow dye. Its all in your head if u think that they wont work as well they wont and they are FDA regulated so believe me the people calling there pharmacy saying they dont work are looking like drug users. ## I had both yellow and white 853's, asked the wife not to tell me which one......after two days outside of a lucky guess which was which.....never could tell difference. Keep in mind hydro looses effectiveness quickly - old ones don't work that well.... ## Do they pay you people to come on these boards? Really? There is not one single person who is to dumb to notice that these pills are garbage. Stop insulting us! ## Can anyone tell me if I can exchange ...

I just recieved a new prescription of norco 853 10/325. The last script was yellow and the new ones are white. The pharmacist said that Watson changed the color but the pill is the same, does anyone know if this is accurate? ## Watson has change a few different medications and the colors are different. But the Norco you're referring to is the same medication that you were prescribed prior. It is just as effective as the script you had filled before this one and it's a good thing that you ask the pharmacist, the pharmacist is correct. ## LuLu is correct and so was your pharmacist. There have been several posts on here recently about various Watson tablets being white now. It seems that some people were sensitive or allergic to the dyes they were using, thus they decided to do awa...

I have a white oblong pill with Watson 853, is this the same pill as the Norco m367? ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? Yes, they are both listed as containing 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, they are just manufactured by different companies. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## How come the Watson 853 does not give me relief? I have taken the yellow and the white 10/325 hydrocone for a while and these new pills are clearly different. ## I noticed Lisa another person asking the same question I am asking why doesn't the Watson's work as well as the yellow ones. It i...

There is a diff between yellow and white pills. Been taking yellows now for eight years or so. I was switched to the white ones about six months ago, and let me tell you its been a nightmare. pain is still present just a little weaker. Only last for 2-3 hours unlike the 5-6 hrs on yellows nausea 24/7 have to eat when taking them or I throw up. itchy everywhere cant sleep, extreme dry mouth, constipation much more frequent. Finally a bad buzzing in my head that wont go away. So YES there is something that was switched not the dye only. But I did read somewhere that Activis will lower hydro amt until sales increase then they will fill all ten mgs back into pill. Ok I see what there doing there making you addicted by lowering content so you need and buy more the after being hooked they res...

I have been taking this medication for 5 years. I experience no difference between the yellow ones or the white ones. I think that some people may be building up a tolerance and that is why they believe the formula has changed, when you n fact they have simply just removed the dye. Discuss your concerns with your doctor. ## Hello, Jkerr! How are you? I'm very glad that this medication is still working for you. There can be slight fluctuations from one generic to another and some people are sensitive to any slight change, so they may find that it doesn't work as well for them. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are there any questions or concerns? ...

White Watson 853 not near as strong as the yellow ones. WTF has changed? I know I used to take about 5-6 doses per day of yellow tablets. Now with the whites, I'd need to double or even triple my dose to get the same relief?! You tell me they're the same?? Bull... I couldn't take that many of the yellows if I wanted to. If I had to guess, coming from someone that took these everyday, is that the white ones are like half the strength as the yellow ones. No way they are the same. Don't care what the box says. Try them and you will see. Government I'm sure controlling meds, just like turning the good, helpful OCs into completely useless OPs. ## Hello, Eight8! How are you? I'm sorry that you're having a problem. However, I can't really check this out for just...

THE 853 NORCO DOES NOT HELP MY PAIN AS WELL AS THE YELLOW TINTED ONES. PLUS THEY UPED THE PRICE DOUBLE. ## I used CVS for my prescriptions until last month, when I tried Walgreens to fill my script for Norco 10/325. When I saw they were white instead of yellow I thought I was given the 5/500 strength in error, since I knew those are white. I called Walgreens and was assured these Watson 853's were the exact same ingredients as the Norco 10/325. After taking my usual dosage, I was shocked to feel almost no relief....maybe 10% relief. After this happened, i went on the internet and read about others who had the same bad experience. Today when I got my new script I went back to Walgreens and told the pharmacy I wanted the other generic, NOT the Watson 853. They said that's the only...

Whit oblong say . Watson 853. Divide mark on back. Is it vicodin 7.5mg? ## This tablet is manufactured by Watson Pharmaceuticals and they actually list it as containing 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## How do you know the fake on the street Watson 385 compared to Pharmaceuticals ones

My latest Watson 853s are slightly smaller, the score line a tad thinner & the color isn't as white. It looks like it's not as shiny, maybe less coating, & the color has kind of a bluish tint to the white. I had a few of my old ones to compare them to, otherwise I might not have noticed. I read on other boards that Watson had been bought by Actavis & didn't know if this was their version of the Watsons. Has anyone else noticed this? ## Hi Sheba, Did you get these from a real licensed pharmacy or are you just ordering them off the internet from overseas? Reason I ask is because Watson was in fact bought out by Actavis, but their legitimate pills are recognized as being a white, oblong, scored tablet imprinted with "WATSON 853". They are NOT known to have a...

I have been taking norco 10/325 and the pills say watson 853 for some reason the last ones I got where a smaller version and looked shiny compared to my older ones that were a little bigger and more dull looking with a chalky film left in the bottle these new ones that are shiny don't have that chalky film to them and the imprint looks a little different as well. It is not something u would really notice without really looking at them or having one to compare it to. Would these be some kind of fake pill or geneic version. Just curious? ## Hello, Just out of curiosity, did you order these off the internet from one of those overseas pharmacies in India? If you had got them from a legitimate retail pharmacy here in the US I don't see why you'd even have anything to be concerned...

There is something very wrong with the white Watsons besides being less affective ,I get headaches sleeplessness, irritability, and dry mouth, the only thing I know is that actual Watson company pharmaceutical sold to Activis which another pharmaceutical company. this is not the same pill. Waldgreens gave me these without telling me of the change after getting home I went to take one and found out they were white, I called waldgreens and was told they are exactly the same. I tested this pill for 10 days now and I still have the same negative reaction. If I cant get them to switch the remaining ones with the V script imprint I will be taking my business back to CVS ## They are supposed to have only removed the dye from them, but there have been many complaints similar to yours. And unfor...

white oblong pill #653 ## I think the marking your asking about is Watson 853 and it contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, the active ingredients in Lortab, this is a narcotic pain reliever. personally i think, the DEA, is cracking down, i know the doctors are scared their gonna lose their license, where i live they are getting ridiculous about it! there is an epidemic, which in return is ruining it for us folks who really need the stuff to just even feel a little comfort from excrutiating pain, there is even a brand called "qualitest" for God sakes! not positive, but i believe, food and drug adm., are lowering the strength, to get american's off the drug!!!!! ## From what I've seen, Watson does have a yellow and white version of their "853" generic Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone tablets. They list the dosage as still being 325/10 in the newer white ones, however, there have been numerous complaints from patients who have tried both versions, saying tha...

The Watson yellow 853 Hydrocodone are stronger than the white ones. As each of you know taken these neither are really strong compared to other types of pain pills. I have Fibro, along with so much more. I have a MVP heart problem so if these pills were strong I could not take them,. Some days I Can hardly move. Since the FDA has past that new law my Doctor is now sending me to a pain clinic. Maybe shots will help or what ever takes place at a pain clinic. ## Hello, Bab! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. The effect these pills have really depends on the person, since we are all different. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. The strength a...

I have been taking the yellow vicks with a v nd a 3606 or something well I just recently got these yellowish brownish looking watson 853 I've never seen them I've had the m357 I've had regular up ones and the white watson 853 but these are not solid yellow the have like a brownish tint to them has anyone ever had them? ## Hi Leo, I haven't had these one's in particular before, but from what I've researched, legitimate Watson 853 tabs should either be white or solid yellow in color. If they are brownish, I'd personally be hard pressed to think they were real unless you did in fact obtain them from a licensed pharmacy (which wasn't made clear in your post)? Manufacturers can change the physical appearance of their pills without prior notice and depending on...

My pill for hydrocodone 10/325. Is white, oblong and had 3601*v imprinted on it. Just got it from Walmart. Is this the correct pill? I am used to taking the yellow oblong. ## Yeah I got mine today and to my surprise they were white not yellow but very similar except for the white is V 3609 and the yellow is V 3601. I was dissapointed because I hate the white ones no matter what brand. I hope they don't stopped making the yellow like watson did. Now they serve u watson 853 in white! ## Many people here on MedsChat are saying the same thing about these V 3609 white pills being less effective. I think Post #1 is right about the white ones lacking efficacy all across the board from one manufacturer to the next. I've noticed a growing trend in action - Actavis's generic norco for...

I have always went to Krogers and got my norco 10/325 manufacturers are Mallinckrodt. Never really had an issue as I only take 4 a day as prescribed by doctor for a car accident and injury i was involved in years ago. Well i am now on an insurance that is cheaper through walgreens. My problem is because I love to read, and have read that the ones to be filled Tuesday at walgreens are watson 853 and are white..? Are these good for the pain and the effectiveness we all normally search for with such pill or is it a waste of time. Ive read they go through actavis now and have read that they are not effective at all..0% for pain. For years I have gotten the yellow Norco 10's for chronic back pain. They helped so much and made my day to day activitys such as work so much easier, but for the past few months I have gotten the white ones with the M367 they helped very little not like the yellow Norcos. The past 2 months I have gotten the white watson 853 and these are just awful! They dont help with pain at all and have made me feel sad at times (weird I know) Honestly they should be a sleeping pill because they make me sooooo sleepy!!! I just want to find a pharmacy here in Lexington or somewhere close that I can get the yellow norcos from! They helped so much. If anyone knows of any place here or close please let me know. Thank you all in advance! ## Need a Dr. to prescribe Norco 10-325, the yellow one. Had ba...
