Trying to find out how to get on pain medication for my back pain how to get a good doctor to trust and help me with what I need ## Hello, Kid! How are you? Well, to be honest, pain medication should be the last resort, after trying other options to solve your problems. They carry the risks of causing problematic side effects and many of them can be habit forming, such as opiates. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, that would be the best place to start, they can refer you for some exams and evaluations to see what's causing your pain and then refer you on to a specialist, if needed. Can anyone recommend any good doctors in WA?

The doctor I saway today is taking me off all pain medication as a way of reducing pain and even said the lesions in my brain are caused by the large amount of opiates. I'm at the point I should go to a methadone clinic for treatment. If anyone knows of a doctor who will treat me with dignity and treat the pain please send me the refferal! My depression and anxiety is out of control now... I am in desperate need of help! I have medicaid and some cash. There's a new Sub Clinic in Tri Cities, WA. Opening early July 2012. in Kennewick, WA. Name: Ideal Option Suboxone Clinic Address: 415 North Morain Street, Suite B Tri Cities, WA 99336 Phone number: 509-222-1275 Hope this helps! ## Hi Sub, Thanks for that information. I'll add some additional information regarding Suboxone for anyone who is curious: Suboxone (Buprenorphine) is a semi-synthetic opioid that is used to treat opioid addiction in higher dosages (>2mg), to control moderate acute pain in non-opioid-tolerant individuals in lower dosages, and to control moderate chronic pain. It is available in a variety of formulations: Subutex, Suboxone (Buprenorphine HCl and naloxone HCl; typically used for opioid addiction), Temgesic (sublingual tablets for moderate to severe pai...

I had just moved to Washington state and in need of a honest pain Doctor who understands the truth about pain for the back?? ## Hello, In regards to finding a local pain doctor, I have listed below a couple websites specific to locating pain management doctors in a given area. All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} You can give this other site a try too if you come up with different results for some reason or another: wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist Many of the results you find (in one or both of the links above) also list a phone number for that specific doctor; I'd consider calling up a number of them to see if they are accepting new patients; some aren't, but most usually are. Unfor...

I need a Dr that excepts medicare as payment. I now am paying for methadone at an outpatient clinic because my insurance does not cover. However, I need methadone not for addiction reasons, but I have fibromyalgia. So a Dr. That prescribes it for pain will also work ## Hello Keekee! How are you? I'm sorry, but if you've been going to an addiction treatment clinic, regardless of why, the fact that it is an addiction clinic will be in your records and a private practice doctor won't be able to prescribe it for you. Thus, staying with a clinic will be your only option. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does anyone h...

I live in NE WA State and have Interstitial Cystitis and have been dropped by my doctor for no good reason. I have been a good patient, have never failed a U/A, and always came to my appointments. They said they were being "nice" to give me 30 days worth of pills to find a new doc.. Well, those 30 days are past and I have called all over the place. No one will take a chronic pain patient! I can't believe this! What country are we living in? If anyone has any suggestions, please, please let me know! I've stretched my pills that are left just about as far as they will go. I take Oxycontin 30mg 3 x day, and Hydrocodone 10mg 4 x a day. I cannot face the pain that will come when I run out.

We are in Washington state. My wife has psoriatic arthritis, endometriosis, and fibromyalgia. She was force tapered to 3 30mg oxycodone a day and can now barely get out of bed, let alone work. Washington law lays out that chronic pain patients are absolutely able to be prescribed more than 120 m.e.d., yet the doctors we have seen won't go over that limit. We are trying to find a Dr that is willing to bring my wife back up to the dose she was on that let her live her life, not be bed-ridden from pain. Does anyone know of a Dr that is caring and is willing to prescribe more that 3 pills a day? Thank you for any help you can provide us. ## If my math is correct 120 pills would 4 a day not 3. ## I am so fed up with the politics of this BS. The courts have determined that pain is subject...

I need to travel to Washington state from California next month because my sister has cancer and I will be providing her care for 2 months. I will need to fill my prescriptions for Methadone 5mg and Percocet 5mg. Will I be able to fill it there? ## Diane, I'm sorry to hear about your unfortunate duty to come.As your aware both Percocet and methadone are highly regulated narcotics. It is highly unlikely an out of state pharmacy will fill these without a advance communication between your prescribing PHYSCIAN and the drug store of your choice.Even with that pharmacists have the option to fill or not depending on their judgement. Sadly most will not but please make all attempts ahead of time so your not left without your medication. Wish I could be of more assistance to you. ## Since I ...

My script for hydrocodone was written by my doc in washington. I am currently in California, and they will not refill. Does Nevada or Idaho honor out of state scripts for same? ## Hello, Jerry! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Unfortunately, it's going to be very difficult to find a pharmacy that's willing to fill an out of state prescription. There are two reasons for this, the first being that it is much harder for them to validate the prescription to ensure that it's legitimate. The second reason is due to the fact that pharmacies are limited, by the DEA, in how much of any given controlled substance they can order in and stock each month. This means that most will only fill prescriptions for people that live locally. Many even require ...

I got a script in. Washington.state . Filled in Canada and its supposed to be xanax.5mg. They are unmarked wt a single score and no marks. Circle and peach /orange ## Hello, Mexico! How are you? Canadian tablets usually all have markings, too. Thus, if this one doesn't, then I doubt that it is actually Xanax. And unfortunately, without any markings, the only way to be certain of what it contains would be to pay to have it lab tested somewhere. Is anyone familiar with these tablets? I'll keep looking and post back, when I have information for you.

Hello, I am a student at a High School in Washington State. In my chemistry class we are currently doing research paper on a manufactured product. I wanted to know why Kaolin is used in medication and also in other products such as dishwear? What are the medical uses of kaolin? Is it safe to use? How can it become a medication or a product to produce a container? Thank you for your time. ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? Good luck on your project! There are actually many substances that are used in foods, medicines, and other things we ingest, as well as being used in non-edible products, so this isn't the only one. Kaolin is basically a type of clay that is essential to the manufacture of china and porcelain. However, in people, it is used to treat diarrhea and cholera. It can also be ...

I had a question about refilling Concerta. I live in Washington State and have been taking Concerta for about four years. It works wonderfully. However, I know that there are no "refills". You have to get a new prescription every thirty days. My doctor told me to contact him when I'm down to a 4-5 day supply. I do it, and he refills the prescription usually the same day. I go to the pharmacy to pick it up, usually only 25 days since my previous fill of 30. Am I missing something? Aren't refills on Schedule II drugs supposed to be really strict? I'm glad I can get them refilled early because of my crazy work schedule and the fact I inevitably lose 1 or 2 pills each month down the sink or into the toilet. I just don't want the pharmacy to say "Your Busted! No m...

I live in Washington state and to my surprise, was recently diagnosed with Hep C. Specialist says in early stage but will eventually treat. He doesn't use Interferon. Exclusively uses a new med. Not covered by any insurance. One pill a day x 8 weeks. Total cost 56 Thousand bucks. I'm only 53 and don't use any drugs at all, don't drink. My income is classified as low since cut to part time. After rent, utilities, limited personal costs (toiletries, etc) I am broke. Are there programs that pay for treatment before this disease has me at death's door? I think he said drug starts with a "S". He didn't write it down. Do Drug makers have programs to pay for treatment? He says it's my only option he will consider, and best option with best outcome. im moving in 30days and I need to guest dose first in washington state for 2 weeks and then me and my daughter will be moving again to hawaii and I need to know can I guest dose there until I transfer there? How long will it take for trandfer to go through? ## Hello, Jennifer! How are you? This is actually going to be up to the individual clinics, though it really shouldn't take long for them to receive your records and do the transfer. However, I would suggest asking those in charge at your clinic, I am sure they'll be able to give you a better idea of the time frame. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
