I been taking TOPAL XL extended relese 200mg once a day.How do I take Metoprolol which is not extended release 200mg? Do i cut each pill in half or should I used 100mg twice a day?At one time I was taking TOPAL XL 100mg twice a day until the drug Co would not fill the order for the 100 mg anymore. Now there sending me 200mg of Metoprolol. ## Take it the same, it may not be clearly marked as such, but it is still a time released version. ## I take 100 mg. twice a day, 12 hours apart. Total 200 mg. It works very well for me. If I forget one, I know it in a few hours by the way I feel. My bp is always low and my pulse never goes above 60. ...
