I was on Enbrel ten years ago with pleasant results. Then Humana Insurance stopped paying for it and I went on Methretrexate for several years. As I aged it seemed my rheumatoid arthritis got worse so doctor put me on Remicade which I had to obtain financial assistance for. Five years of wonderful help on disease, my funding ended and doctor put me back on Enbrel with new insurance company. Enbrel had a program that helped me financially and I received my first shipment last Friday. Followed directions for new version of giving a needle. I had no trouble with old system of physically injecting needle myself. This tubular, self contained needle and medicine required concentrated action on my part and I did all the directions said. When it came to pressing the purple tab on top, my arthri...

I've been on methadone now for about 5 months. It's a pretty low dose. I also unfortunately top it up with alot of codeine. I have a really great doctor and team who are doing their best to help me and I am a difficult client! Anyway, long story short, the last 6 weeks or so I am in alot of pain at night time. I mean alot. It's extreme cramping and muscle pain. It lasts into the morning and I walk badly for the first hour or so after getting up. I'm plagued with nightmares too. I think I suffer from ptsd. I thought maybe the nightmares are causing anxiety and tension leading to body cramping? Does any one here know what is wrong or am I alone ## Methadone does not cause muscle cramps. Lack of water causes muscle cramps. Increase your methadone & get off those codeine...

I suffer from chronic chest pains, and it feels like someone is crushing my heart, i get sharp pains, and it debilatates me. in the ER the have given me this green goddess and it worked wonders, hard to swallow after, but it killed the pain, well my ignorant Dr. refuses to subscribe it to me, she tends to think that the nexium will work one day. So i figure ill make my own green goddess, but all i know is that it contains lidocain,, maylox, or mylanta and something else. so if anyone could help me with my problem i would greatly appreciate it, i have dealt with this pain for 12 years, and im tired of it,. Thank you ## The name of this mixture varies from region to region, from what I can discover it contains Lidocaine, Mylanta and Donnatal. The Lidocaine is a mild, topical anesthetic. T...

Does anyone know a good substitute for Topamax? It has be about ten days since I took the last dose of Topamax. The Dr. lowered my dose to 10mg, I took 200mg twice a day for maybe 3-4 months before it started to cause problems. I even fell 3 times!!! I am a 55 year old grandmother & I help with my grand kids. I have severe migraine headaches at least 4 times a week, I've had TMJ surgery 10 times, just chewing can give me a migraine. The Topamax seemed to help before the bad side effects started. Now I can't get rid of the dizziness, numbness, pin & needles and pain in my hands arms feet and legs. I am back to sitting on the couch all of the time with my ice pack tied around my head! I also take Paxil and pain meds just to get by. ## Have you tried any of the beta blocker...

The color eans different companies make them some put less tylenol in them some have more ifs its a ten its a ten same effect as as 10/325&10/500 the color doesn't matter in tens now the white with red specs is a five mg an white with blue specs is a 7.5 mg that's the only difference ## Thanks for taking a moment to share this information. A lot of patients may not even realize that their generics might contain up to 20 percent less active ingredients than the brand name. However from "brand to brand", are you saying here that different companies could also mean a difference in the percentage of ingredients? I wouldn't be surprised if there actually was, but it would definitely raise a red flag on the topic of quality control if brand names are getting dosage cut...

My doctor will not believe me. When I take prednesone then methadone, the methadone does not seem to work at all. Now if I wait until then next day, putting up with pain all night long, the methadone does work the next day. Does anyone have any medical literature on this topic? ASAP please, she has me on 5 mg t.i.d. Down from 10 mg t.i.d. The ten barely worked, why she would think 5 mg will work is beyond me. LLS07 Old Hickory, TN. ## Hello, Larney! How are you doing? Yes, it is documented in the possible medication interactions that Prednisone can decrease the absorption and effect of Methadone. Learn more Prednisone details here. top of my left foot hurts - My x-ray shows no arthritis, but may have tendonitis. I was give a specially made prescription which contain DIC 5/ GAB 5/ AMI 2/ LID 5 which come in a pump. Trying to find out what each ingredient is ## Hello, Hip! How are you? Diclofenac, Gabapentin, Amitriptyline and Lidocaine, in such a mixture, it is used to topically to relieve pain. The FDA lists the typical side effects as including headache, skin redness and irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

can I take Tramadol for hemrroid pain? ## A systemic medication isn't really going to help much. The FDA classifies Tramadol as an opiate analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Hemorrhoids tend to be more on the surface and hurt due to being rubbed by your underwear, toilet paper, slacks and etc. Thus, a topical pain reliever usually helps more, such as Preparation H. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin redness and irritation at the application site. Have you consulted your doctor? They should be able to let you know what would be safest for you to try.

My voltaren gel expired 7/13. Is it still safe to use? ## Hello, Phyllis! How are you? It doesn't get dangerous after it expires, but it will likely no longer be effective. Liquids, gels, creams and ointments tend to degrade much faster than solid forms of medications. It would actually be best to just dispose of it and see your doctor for a new prescription. Voltaren gel is a topical NSAID that's used to treat pain and swelling. Side effects to topical use are usually limited to skin reddening and irritation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have Voltaren 75 mg pills that are several years old. Are they still safe to take ## Hi i'm beauty. My Doctor gave this to me. Its a free sample of a pain cream for the tendons in my wrists (I think she said I could also use it on my back for my scoliosis). I always look up side effects of any medication I use, but when I went to look it up I noticed it didn't have a name. It says "this medicine was specially compounded per your prescriber" on the side. I just want to know what this is so I can know the side effects before using it. Dose anyone know what this is? ## Hello, Anna! How are you? I know what some of these ingredients are, CYC is Cyclobenzaprine a muscle relaxant, LID is Lidocaine a topical anesthetic and BAC is Baclofen another muscle relaxant, but I'm not sure on the DIC and BUP. Yes I have. but they are in california. there are four of them that have started a co-op of sorts. They have come together to help us in pain and they belive that opiates are the only way to control intrctable pain. As I mentioned before Dr. Forest Tennant is the one that got it started and is in his 70's and is teaching three others about treating pain patientsThey are using high dosages of opiates and aren;t afraid to do so as long as you are legit. ## @f100ford, From the way you started your sentence, it looks like you may have meant to post this as a response to someone in another thread rather than starting a new forum topic. But I do want to thank you for sharing that doctor's information. It seems like many of the physicians who openly treat pain with opiates are a lot ha...

I have been prescribed diclofenac gel and was wondering if there are any side effects. I was given this as oral nsaids are very hard on my stomach. Also, is this beneficial for a condition called Trigger finger? ## It can cause the same side effects as other NSAIDs, however, since it is topical, your body doesn't tend to absorb as much of it, so this prevents these problems for most people. It can generally help with any condition involving pain and inflammation, however, as with any drug, it doesn't work for everyone. As with any medication, the only thing you can really do is try it and see if it helps. ## If there's anything else I can help you with, please let me know. ## To Verwon, Thank you for the input. So far the diclofenac gel seems to help with the inflammation an...

oval, white, pain ## just found this pill loose in the house. Need to know what it's for ## Just wanted to know what the pill is and what it's used for. ## I've been taking Zanaflex 4mg as a spinal muscle relaxant. I just started taking the tablets with the R180 imprint and not 100% sure its the same as the circular zanaflex. Its for spinal cord injuries or multiple sclerosis ## Pill Image This pill, R 180, is Tizanidine 4mg, a generic version of the muscle relaxant Zanaflex. ## And to the original poster of this topic, this is not a pain pill, as I said it is a muscle relaxant, so if you have muscle spasms, tension, or muscle injury that is causing pain, it can help, but it is not a direct pain reliever and will not help with other pain problems.
