My Doc prescribed me 15 mg of Morphine. Ive been on vicodin 7.5 mg for three years. How much of a difference is morphine? I took half of the blue pill just now. ## The Morphine is stronger than the Hydrocodone in the Vicodin, it is also a straight narcotic, without the Acetaminophen that is in the Vicodin. It sounds like your doctor is trying to help you get better control of your pain. The main issue here is, what type of Morphine pills are they? If they are the time released version, generics for MS Contin, then cutting the pill in half could be very dangerous and should not be done. Tablets contain fillers and not all of them are meant to be broken down by the human body, this is especially true of time released medications. Normally, these leftover products are just expelled in your waste. However, if you inject them, you are putting this fillers into your body in a manner that it is unable to process them out and this creates the risk of blockages, which could lead to stroke or embolism.
