I have the relatively new generic for subutex. It's round and white with the numbers 54 411 on one side and blank on the other. I was wondering if u ingest this sublingual like the original or if u swallow it. Please let me know. ## This is an 8mg Buprenorphine tablet, the active ingredient in Subutex and yes, it is meant to be used sublingually. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I took only a quarter of the generic subutex. about 43 hours ago and now i need to take a vicodon. dose any one know if its ok to do that. Cuz i heard if you take it to soon you can get withdrawl symptons or you have to take more than usual because of the opiet recepters.?????????? ## It should be fine, but you may nite get the full effect of the vicodin due to the high affinity to the receptor... ...

taking subutex properly

Hi my name is Chloe. I have been on a script now for just over a year. was on methadone. But now am on subutex. Im abit worried as you are meant to let subutex dissolve under your tongue. But I have never been able to do that as I gag and throw up. I crunch them with the front of my teeth and swallow very quickly with water. Can this cause me problems coming off subutex or cause me harm inside my tummy? I was on 6mg 3 tablets daily now im on 2mg 1 tablet daily. Also I keep having spouts of time where im sick every morning badly being sick. No explanation. And then im fine a wk or 2 then the vomiting again. This was my first time being on a script and H was never really my thing, so I do not ever use or take H, and stopping subutex is a must, but am so scared im gonna feel bad in the pro... ...

 Subutex Buprenorphine
Buprenorphine/naloxone (trade name Suboxone) is a combination drug formulation of buprenorphine, a μ-opioid receptor (MOR) weak partial agonist and κ-opioid receptor antagonist, and naloxone, a MOR silent antagonist, in a 4:1 ratio.[1][2] It is used in the treatment of opioid dependence.[1][2] The purpose of naloxone is to deter intravenous abuse; parenteral administration rapidly induces opioid withdrawal symptoms in opiate dependent individuals, while regular, intended use does no...

I am currently reducing off of subutex. s I am on such a low dose (4.5ml) I was wonderin if I could use tramadol to help with the final reduction. Can I take the two vogether? ## Hello, Budge! How are you? Tramadol is an opioid, so the Subutex will likely block it from having any effect. It tends to take a stronger hold on your opiate receptors than the others and prevents them from doing anything. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What has your doctor advised? ...

Taking subutex and methadone

I've been taking methadone for 10 years, I recently ran out of my prescription. Is it safe to take subutex or will it send me into withdrawals? ## Hello, Lucy! How are you? You have to be in full withdrawals, before taking the Subutex. It contains the opiate Buprenorphine and it tends to cling to the opiate receptors very strongly and will displace most others, throwing you into precipitated withdrawals, which can be dangerous. The FDA warns that this medication may be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

I took a subutex strip at 5:00 pm yesterday. How long until I can take a morphine and the subutex won't affect it? ## Hello, Dae dae! How are you? It usually takes about 72 hours. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm a chronic pain patient of 20+ yrs. All I can get from Drs these days is Subutex (I get the generic w/ half moons). I take 8 mg under the tongue 2x daily. So, I have some morphine and I swallowed 1 Subutex today. How long should I wait to take the morphine to get the best results? Thanx much! ...

Subutex instead of taking Norco's
1 Reply RSS
Been taking Hydrocodone now for about 10 years for back injuries. They don't work very well for me anymore and was wondering if taking Subutex would be something to consider if they can help with the pain. I never have enough Norco's to last the entire month. ## Hello, Nick! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. Have you ever tried Oxycodone or Dilaudid? One of them would most likely be the next step, rather than jumping from Norco to Subutex. They are other options to discuss with your doctor. Subutex doesn't work well for everyone for pain. According to treat he FDA,these are narcotic analgesics, and have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ...

Is this extremely harmful? Has anyone on here had to go through this before? Hopefully someone can help. ## No, it isn't a combination that is extremely harmful, as long as your doctor has prescribed them for you and is monitoring you regularly for any issues. However, you may experience more side effects, according to the NIH, which could include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and sedation. What side effects have you experienced, so far? ...

I have been taking subutex for about 7months now , before that I took suboxone for 2 yrs . I like the subutex a lot better not near as groggy and less headaches. I have been very careful about not getting pregnant and somehow it happened . I take half of an 8mg tablet 3 times a day but here recently since being pregnant it doesn't seem to be working as well , I realize I have a lot of extra blood flow and am assuming that's probably why. Also everytime I go to put them under my tounge within 2-4 mins the morning sickness kicks in and I throw everything up including the majority of the pill . Well it's 9 days till I get my next refill and I'm out and I don't know what to do. Should I call my Dr to see if I can refill early or what ? I guess I'm just afraid to ask ... ...

So I'm not sure where your friend heard this information, but it's possible that it may not be public news yet if she recently got these details in advance from someone within the company. My doctor just put me on subutex along with percocet. I've been on percocet for yrs for severe and chronic migraines. He told me to take the subutex and if it doesn't work to take a percocet. I usually take 15 mg percocet at a time. I've read some stuff online that worries me. Some people say if you take percs with subutex you'll go into withdrawals. Can I have a tooth extracted if I'm using subutex? Will the local anaesthetic still work okay? Regards, Dave ## It should, since there is nothing in Subutex to neutralize it. I've seen that people in the USA have started to get the new 8mg tablets which are smaller than the old 8mg one's and these were introduced in England as the old tablets were being abused. So they made the new pill smaller believing it would dissolve quicker but they were easier to hide and people had more risk of OD. This was mainly started by pressure from the home office to the drug companies because the abuse of subutex within the English prisons and the shadow economy within the prisons! ## I may of been stupid, but I took Subutex the whole time I was pregnant and my baby is perfectly healthy and scored really low with withdrawal symptoms. ## Mikeyf1973, what are the markings on them?
