I am taking. This medication for 7 days is making me sick from my stomach pai n I feel nausea and feel very sleepi and tired ## Hello, Ruth! How are you? Those can be normal side effects of this antibiotic, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. However, they should go away, about a week or so, after you finish your course of treatment. But, if they are very severe, you should consult your doctor to be sure. Is there anything else I can help with?

My two month old was proscribed this medicine. I feel she is sleeping way to much even for a two month old. Has anyone else had this problem? ## According to the dosing & administration guidelines, this medication is contraindicated in infants less than 2 months of age. Since your child is borderline on this age requirement, I'd question why the doctor decided to choose this drug over less riskier options? In my honest opinion, Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim is a very powerful drug to be giving a 2 month old, who's immune system is still developing. The number of potentially severe side effects is what really draws a lot of people away from this particular antibiotic. So if you believe your child is sleeping abnormally more than usual, it may be worth while to contact your ...

Is there anything that works naturally as antibiotic ; such as a leaf or something, in case things get bad!!!! ## Yes frederick there are plenty of natural antibiotics and with a bit of searching you might just find something to supplement your existing diet. Of course i am not saying to stop the meds that a doctor has put you on, but look into a few things like oil of oregano, other probiotics such as yogurt or culturelle supplement, etc. And there are tons of other essential oils with antiseptic properties. Does this help at all?

Because Cefdinir is also a antibiotc, wii it work just as well as Sulfameth tmp ds tabs. ## It really depends on what type of infection is being treated. Sometimes doctors choose one antibiotic over another, because they know has been proven more effective at treating certain infections. For instance, while it is a broad spectrum antibiotic of the Cephalosporin class, Cefdinir has been proven most effective at treat infections of ear, sinus, throat and skin. Thus, your doctor may not want to prescribe it for a urinary tract infection. The Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim, however, has been shown to be very effective at treating urinary tract infections, so when you have one, your doctor may prefer to use it as their first choice. And there are some infections that they are both proven...
