Sugary taste to pill
1 Reply RSS
I have taken thyroid medicine for most of my life, but just recently I have noticed that my Synthroid , 100 Mcg pill has a sugary, sweet taste to it. Why has this occurred, and what exactly is the reason for it? ## Hello, Einnor! How are you? Some manufactured use sugars or a sweetener in some medications. What are the markings on it? That would enable me to check the specific ingredients for you. However, you also should not be tasting your pill. If you're tasting it, then you're not taking it properly. The pill should be placed as far back on your tongue, as possible, short of choking on it and then immediately swallowed with water. ...

Skipped sugar pills

I have been on Tri-Pre for awhile now. I didn't want to have my period this month so I skipped the week of sugar pills. I started bleeding a little on Wednesday and it is now Monday and I'm still bleeding. Is this going to stop? It's really light, but annoying and thought I was skipping my period by going right to the new pack. ## Hello, Madi! How are you? It should stop, but it may take a few weeks. By not giving your body that weeks break, you've basically created a hormonal imbalance, skipping the placebo pills doesn't always work for everyone. When I was younger and taking an oral contraceptive, I always spotted, if I tried. If it doesn't stop in a few weeks, or gets heavier, you should consult your doctor. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly... ...

I got my period last month first 2days where heavy like normal the last3 where super light this month im on my day4 of sugar pill still no period im cramping like my period is post to br coming on my period tracker says im post to start my period on the the 13th which is when i take my active pill could i be pregnant since it hasn't come on wit the sugar pill ## If you haven't missed any active pills, then pregnancy is not very likely, but if you're concerned, then you should have yourself checked to be sure. Some women stop getting periods, while taking oral contraceptives, or occasionally skip and it's generally nothing to worry about. As to the period tracker, it seems like it's not factored in that you're taking this oral contraceptive, because once you'r... ...

tri-sprintec skipped sugar pills
2 Replies RSS
I recently skipped the white sugar pills while taking tri-sprintec, and I've been spotting for about two weeks now. Is there anyway to stop the bleeding? ## Hello, Emma! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. No, there is really no way to stop the spotting. Things will eventually get back on track and balance back out, most likely after your next period. Your body is expecting that break every month that allows a period to happen and by skipping that week, you've thrown your hormonal balance off. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain, breakthrough bleeding and PMS like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## emma the sugar pills are just... ...

Sir every day I m taking glaycomet go 1 forte tablet before dinner.but today by mistake it was taken twice so I want to know that any side effects happen in night & how much the one tablet cut off sugar???? Please reply as soon as possible....thanks ## This medication doesn't cut off your sugar, it just helps your body use it in a better manner, since when you are diabetic, you usually don't do so, which can lead to organ damage, and eventually fatal conditions. If you took it twice, you may experience lower blood sugar than usual, which the NIH reports as possibly including symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, extreme drowsiness, shakiness and headache. How are you feeling? Did you experience any adverse effects? Are you on any other medications? ...

why the sugar?

Just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this: I take Actiq for my migraines and works great most of the time but is really doing a number on my teeth. I've heard that the lozenge form of Fentanyl (Fentora) has no sugar in it at all, but a lot of people I've talked to say it's not as long lasting as the Actiq and their pain tends to re-occur quicker. Why can't they make the Actiq sugar free? ## I can't find any details on this, but my first guess is that it probably has to do with disguising the taste of the medication. Fentanyl is a narcotic and they are known to be very bitter and it would take a lot to make sure that they didn't completely gross someone out. In addition, the use of actual sugars as a sweetener opens them up to a much broader market, as man... ...

Does anyone know why Actiq cannot be sugar free? It works pretty well for my migraines but it's doing a number on my teeth. I know that Fentora is sugar free, but have heard it doesn't work as well and is not as long lasting as Actiq. ## I can't find any details on this, but my first guess is that it probably has to do with disguising the taste of the medication. Fentanyl is a narcotic and they are known to be very bitter and it would take a lot to make sure that they didn't completely gross someone out. In addition, the use of actual sugars as a sweetener opens them up to a much broader market, as many people can't use artificial sweeteners for various reasons. Please clarify ## All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, that is just the nature of how it works, when you add a chemical to the body to try to rectify a problem. However, if you do not take the prescribed medications, high blood sugar can be deadly, so there is far less risk to dealing with the possible side effects. The U.S. FDA lists them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, flatulence, and hypoglycemia. Is there anything else I can help with? ...
