Suboxone Shot

I've been on suboxone for 2 years now. I was addicted to pain pills. I've had withdraws from the pills and withdrawals from the suboxone, and the suboxone is 10 times worse. I don't know who discovered this drug but they should be shot. If I would've known suboxone was this bad I would've tried to quit cold turkey. They even have me on a higher dose than i took with the pills. But now I'm stuck!!! At least my Dr that I have to pay every month is happy. My advise is whatever you do don't go with suboxone. There's bound to be something better out there. ## Hello, Whisper! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems you've had. However, Suboxone does work well for many people, because though it takes awhile and must be very slowly tapered, it has ...

I have been on 1-4mg of suboxone/day for about 1.5 years and I just took 25mg of ms contin. How long should I wait to dose again on my bupe? ## Until you are in withdrawal, just like when starting Suboxone, to avoid precipitated withdrawals. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## You have kind of helped me. I was on 640mg of ms contin daily. Am now on 16mg of suboxone. I was wondering what would happen if i had a shot of ms contin. Going by what you have said, i wont get a withdrawal from the shot immediately? ## Gayrobbie, That's s really heft...

I have been on a suboxone program for 3 days @ 16mg a day. What will happen if i have a 100mg shot of morphine sulphate? I have previously been told that i need 5 times the amount of morphine as i take of suboxone. So 16mg dose of suboxone means i need at least 80mg of morphine to jump the naloxone? Is that true? And can i take the 100mg shot of morphine without any dramas?

I was addicted to Percocet and Vicodin for 4 years I finally got off of them and immediately was prescribed suboxone 8mg a day. 3 weeks in I started getting tingly arms and hands and was so painful it would wake me up in the middle of the night. Suboxone doctor told me it was probably carpal tunnel so I got a wrist brace and a shot in my wrist. About 6 weeks in I couldn't wake up on time for work. I wasn't enjoying anything i was just going through the motions. I almost lost my job but my boss gave me some time off. So 9 weeks in I quit cold turkey. Day 1 and 2 were not bad as suboxone was most likely still in my system. Day 3 a lot of anxiety horrible chills and cold sweats body aches fatigue day 4 depression and anxiety and stomach issues. Day 5 stomach issues. This is day 6 a...

Need to talk to someone very bad. I've been taking methadone for 20 years, in May I started winging myself down. I got to 5 to 10 milligrams then ran out so I started taking 5 milligram oxycodone. I have a few 2 milligram and 8 milligram suboxone. When can I take them? Living in Mountain Home, Arkansas is there any Doctor I can go to that prescribes? I have been shot and have a lot of nerve damage. Also I have not been through serious withdrawal. I think I've been on methadone so long that it has covered my receptors and it is not leaving my body. NEED HELP ## You have to be in full withdrawal, before you can take Suboxone, unless your doctor has instructed otherwise. Taking it before then could cause you to go into dangerous precipitated withdrawal. If you want to check for a d...

So there's a new kind of SUBOXONE out and it's called SUBLOCADE. It's a once a month injection done by a medical professional that lasts ALL month. So no more having to take it sublingually (under the tongue) daily anymore. I just found out about this last week and was wanting anyone's input about it. I don't know how I feel about it. What if it doesn't work ALL month and on week 3 you start feeling like s***? Can you go back to the doctor and get another shot or will they just give you a couple sublingual suboxone to make it through till the next week? I guess it's a pretty big dissolvable thing that slowly releases about 2mg a day into your bloodstream. Once again, I'm not sure how i feel about that. What if something happens and it ALL gets released at...

I am on suboxone and I am sick. Can I take cold multi-symptom with acetaminophen / phenylephrine HCI / Dextromethorphan HBr? Just want to know if it is safe to take together? Can not find anything on this on the internet. ## Hello, Rayrad! How are you? I didn't find any interactions listed between them in the databases, but it's always best to double check this information to be sure. The cold remedy, as listed by the FDA, may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and headache. Suboxone is listed as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I am on 12 mg of suboxone a day. I got a flu shot last week a...

Could my chronic idiopathic hives (of 5yrs) be caused by 2mg Suboxone? I've been on sub for that long. And if so, is it the bup or naloxone? I'm sick of getting Xolair shots and just masking the underlying issue. ## Hello, Mike! How are you? Yes, it has been known to cause that, in some people that take it, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. Unfortunately, I am not sure which ingredient is more likely the cause, but your doctor or pharmacist may know. Are you on any other medications?

I have taken 8 mg of suboxone for the past 2 days, the last time being last night around 8pm. I just received a prescription for 60 mg morphine for a back procedure and am hoping to be able to take it by tomorrow night. The doctor told me since I only took it for a few days that's all I should have to wait (although I sure felt the shot they gave me!) Does anyone have any experience with this or answers that may help? ## Hello, Lolly! How are you? It usually takes about 72 hours, before other opiates will work, though it could be different for you, since you felt the shot without any issues. If your doctor doesn't feel you need to wait longer, then it is always best to follow their advice. It isn't harmful to try taking another opiate sooner, the Suboxone just prevents them ...

Any1 had any luck w/this? I've been on Subo waaay too long and am more than ready to get off. My new dr suggests the Vivitrol shot. He says to go 3 days w/o any Subs b4 getting the shot. Very nervous. Not so sure I can even go 3 days w/o. Wondering if any1 else has went through this transition and does it actually help w/cravings and w/d? i don't crave so much, but I do w/d and THAT is terrifying when I am a single mother, have no parents or family and must do this on my own. Any answers are much appreciated. God Bless! ## Why isn't this doctor just tapering you off of the Suboxone? That is the way it is normally done, after a period of time, when someone is past the craving portion. The Vivitrol contains Naltrexone. However it doesn't contain any type of narcotic like t...

I have been on suboxone 8mg 2 a day for 13 years. I started taking goli apple cider vitamins about a month ago. My problem is my Suboxone quarantine test game back saying I have no Suboxone in my system. I never mentioned to the doctor I started taking Goli. Now I'm going through withdrawal from Suboxone because the doctor thinks I never took my meds and didn't write my prescription for this month. I just took another Suboxone level test yesterday and it gets sent out. I'm asking is the goli messing up my test? I swear I have not taken anything else and I was getting ready to take the new shot available to finally get off Suboxone. I've been trying for years to get off this an I can't do it. The shot looks promising but now I'm stuck because of the test saying I ...

The Doc put me on 5 a day 8mg pills. In all 40mg a day. It makes me really tired during the day, then at night I have Insomnia. I guess it's better then taking Opiates again. It's truely changed my life? If only I can sleep! ## My doctor started me on four a day, which happens to be way to much. I don't know the exstent of your using but I can tell you that I was bad as they come. If you want to sleep then stop taking so much, no one needs that much suboxone. After a while It becomes a regular part of your life which I am sure you know. I now take only eight milligrams a day, I have been on them for nine months. After forcing myself to lower my dose my sleep paterns became one hundred times better. I went from over three hundred milligrams of oxycontin shot intervenously to ...

I am currently on suboxone and have been on it for 7 years. I'm interested in switching to vivatrol (naltrexone). What I would like to know is can I switch without having to wait 2 weeks ?? I was a long time opiate patient and suboxone saved my life, but people have started stealing suboxone and this has happened to me. I figure they can't steal an inj. so maybe the shot would be better but I'm scared of the 2 week wait I keep hearing about. ## Hello, Pam! How are you? Due to the fact that there is an opiate in the Suboxone, yes you will most likely have a waiting period, before you can start the Naltrexone. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including diarrhea and abdominal cramping. Is there anything else I can help with?

I took a 1/4 of a suboxone a friend had given me around 6:00 pm today. How long do I have to wait until I can take a Percocet for pain and not get it and have it work? ## 1/4 of a suboxone isn't a very detailed description how many MG's was the strip?(i know this is an old comment but whatever) ## I know this topic is a few weeks old, but I do agree with josh (post #1) in that the answer to the original thread question would largely depend on how many milligrams of Suboxone you're taking. Based on some other cases I've seen, I'd take a shot in the dark and say it may be up to a week before it's out of your body. Although several personal factors such as age, weight, diet, etc, could also influence the excretion rate. I hope this info helps! Please post back if yo...

My friend has been going there for three years n he says they do n they pay for the gas money it takes to get up there I think if it's under ten miles they give u $180 if it is over ten miles they send u close to $300, does anyone know if that's true or not, plus it would be hard for me to get there cuz I'm in a wheelchair due to the gunshot wound but I'm willing to give someone the card if they can help me get up there everyday,,, let me know asap plz

Hi, I have been taking about 12 mgs of suboxone for about 16 months. I want to taper down and my doc suggested the sublocade injection so I went ahead and got it this week. I did as much research as i could but there really isn't much info from people who receive it. Anyway, I got my first shot this past Monday at 3pm (it is now Wednesday) The first day I felt great, yesterday and today I have pounding headache, and a tiredness I just can't shake. My doctor said I may need to continue taking oral suboxone for a few weeks after I get the first shot ( which makes no sense to me, isn't the the POINT of getting the shot, to not need suboxone anymore?!?) Anyway, I need some advice from people who get Sublocade. 1) What should I expect during the first month of my first shot? 2) S...

I was on suboxone for 2 years. Had surgery on my foot and was prescribed oxycodone. After that ran out I took methadone until I could get to a new suboxone dr. She saw that I had methadone in my system and wouldnt give me the suboxone. I ended up with a drug overdose and was rushed by ambulance to the hospital. After 7 days they gave me Vivitrol, with sent me into severe withdrawals. They want me to get a Vivitrol shot in 5 days, however I think it will be too soon. Any thoughts?

Both subutex and suboxone will cause precipitated withdrawal. It is the bupe that connects to the receptors and kicks the methadone out. Naloxone is just an extra blocker!! I am a social worker at a clinic. Waiting at least 12 hours only if on low dose 20mg or less should b OK. But 24 preferred. ## If you take a little less then half of a 8mg subutext 15 hours ago is it safe to take 20mgs of methadone does anyone know! ! ! ## Why do people always minimize Naloxone? EMTs give the ODs Narcan, which brings the patient into withdrawal. Naltrexone (Vivitrol) has been used with chronic opiate addicts and alcoholics in several forms, pill, 30 day shot, implant. It is a VERY strong blocker and has many side effects. I have personal experience with this medication & know that it is not somet...
