My father (post CABG, 65 yrs) has been taking Telma AMH 40 instead of Telma AM 40 (which he took for a year or so post CABG) since last 3 months. Recently he was diagnosed with unexplained loss of electrolytes (hyponatremia, Na was 104 when detected, and corrected till 122). Can this loss be due to the usage of Telma AM or AMH? Rest of his reports are coming normal, so we are not able to diagnose the causative factor. ## Yes, it might be caused by the Telma AMH, which contains the active ingredients Telmisartan, Amlodipine and Hydrocholorothiazide. I am 45 years old having family history of hypertension. That's why my doctor advised to take telma 20 as 1-0-0 on daily basis. My BP is quite normal 120/80 whether I take the medicine or not. Only on account of family history I have been advised to take the tablet for life time as mentioned above. I am 78 yrs old. Dr prescribed Telma 40 but by taking Telma 40 my bp drops down therefore i reduced to Telma 20. Now i am maintaining bp as 125/62-65 etc. In case i do not take medicine it increases to 140/90 approximately. Should I ask my dr to change the medicine or stop taking this medicine? I am 60 years old. I have replaced amlodipine 5 mg with Telma 40 three months ago. Since then for the first time in my life my blood sugar has gradually increased up to 115 on fasting. It was always below 100. Can you advise me whether it is the side effect of Telma 40 or not? ## It is very doubtful, 115 is not usually a concerning number that causes a diagnosis of diabetes. I am 58 years of age. Just 10 days back I started Thelma H 40 mg for BP 160/90 as advised by my doctor. With regard as I am using telma am 40 per day one but my blood pressure is 125/95 I done all examination of my blood all was in normal range my question is why 95 rang not getting down. Thanks ## Have they checked your heart, or just done blood tests? It is possible that your heart is working too hard, for some reason, such as a partial blockage, according to the NIH. Do you also eat a healthy, low salt and low fat diet? I have been detected hypertensive seven years ago. Initially I took telmakind and later repace h 50 Mg with Amlokind. But after two three years when i went to see a Doc, he did ECG and suggested that I should continue to take Repace H and Ecospirin AV. I have been taking it since. And remarkably both keep my bp exactly at 120-25/80-85. But I want to know if I can continue like this. I havent experienced any side effects. I have been recommended the use of Amtas-M 5/25 to control fluctuations in hypertension ranging from 130/80 to 150/100 (2 years ago). I have been taking one tablet in the morning daily. The blood pressure has since come under control ranging from 110/70 to 120/80. However, I notice swelling of my ankles/feet during the day from the afternoon through the evening hours.
