Side Effects Of Altosec 20mg

I have been taking altosec 20mg for 4 days now and its giving me diarrhoea. I see that this is one of the side effects. Should I discontinue taking it. How serious is this particular side effect. Yes I know I should contact my doctor but he is not available right now. Everyone is on holiday. Would appreciate a response. Thank u! ## Hello, Meranz! How are you? It's not considered a serious side effect, unless it's causing you severe problems, such as making you become dehydrated. How bad is the diarrhea? Are you making sure to compensate for the fluid and electrolyte loss, if it is medically safe for you to do so?

Hi. My 90 year old Aunt suffered food poisoning a few months ago and was hospitalized. She has taken a daily laxative for years- which worked effectively and predictably. She has been put on Altosec 20 for months now - her bowel movements are now more urgent and frequent. Is this a side effect or an intolerance of the Altosec? Since the food poisoning, she is also taking a daily vitamin - DS-24- vitamins/minerals including iodine 140ug, 20mg calcium, choline 5mg and molybdenum. Is the Altosec 20mg perhaps too strong? I am from South-Africa and a breast cancer survivor. Was on Nexium tabs and it did not helped me all the time acid reflux and abdominal pain. I also got a sliding hiatal hernia. From 10/11/2014 on Altosec 20mg ..No more heart burn,no reflux sliding hiatal hernia is better. Side effects none!!! ## Hello, Princess! How are you?
