my daughter 10 years old.she face frequently UTI even after giving antibiotic after doing culture docter priscribed septran suspension 5ml daily for 1year.Is there any side effect to my child for giving septran for ! year ## Has your daughter been tested for vesico-ureteral reflux? A condition where urine from the bladder is pushed back thru the ureters into the kidney during urination. The bladder never completely empties due to a defect in the valve between bladder and ureter. The residual urine gives bacteria a chance to multiply causing chronic UTI's. I was told by a pediatric nephrologist when my daughter was diagnosed at age two that this is condition primarily affects girls and is one of the main causes if chronic UTI's in children. ## Yes,vesico-ureteral reflux ... ...

my daughter is 4 years and 5 months.. she is suffering from cough congestion in her chest. doctor has prescribed 5 ml of septran syrup thrice a day... is it effective.. any side effects? ...

my son aged 3 years & 8 month suffering from Blader extrophy , he is giving depsonil tablets ( dose half morning & half evening) , now doctor advised to start septran syrup , one table spoon at night, please tell me what will be the benefit by starting septran for blader extrophy patient & what will be the side effects, as when i give him septran , he also takes iron suppliment with it, he feel redness at one year , he is coughing, what anti alergy drugs can be given if any symptoms arised. ## Septran contains the active ingredients Sulfamethoxazole withTrimethoprim, commonly prescribed in the U.S. under the brand name Bactrim, it is an antibiotic, it is used to treat or prevent infections. My child has been operated for choledocal cyst six yrs back and now she is o.k but unfortunetly she has been detected typhoid. which medicine is suitable for her. her age is nine plus. dr has given her septran. shall we give her monocef injection or some other medicine. after six hours her temp raised 102 then we given her lotemp paracetomol after consuming lotemp her temp remains normal ...

Dear Doctor, My son is 2 year and 7 months. he is suffering from loose motion (4-5 times a day) and high fever 100-103c. first doctor given enterogermina (twice a day) + zinconia syrup (5ml a day) + calpol syrum 250mg. but not progress in health. then they asked for stool test and bound bacterias and Pus cells 6-8/Hpf then doctor added septran syrup 5ml twic a day. but unfortunaterly no improvemnet seen in next 3days. then he asked for blood test. blood test result show PLATELET COUNT 5.62Lakh/cmm, ESR 70mm/hr, TOTAL COUNT-14300 CELLS/CUMM and typhoid is negative. now (today) doctor asked us to stop septran and added new medicine TAXIM -O forte syrup twice. we are very worried as it has been 9-10 days and he lost 2kg weight. please guide us best regards ravi ...

what is the best treatment for my daughter, age two years who is suffering from VUR ## is there any side effect of Septran. my son is of 4 years. we are giving him 5ml septran daily. when he was of 3 years E-coli infection was found in his urine test.
