Is auro-metformin blackberry 500mg the same pill as RXP 500mg metformin, just flavored with blackberry? ## Hello Betty, The Auropharma manufacturers page only shows the ingredients for the 500mg metformin and does not list the inactive ingredients. This leads me to believe that the two are the same but one is simply given a blackberry flavoring for those that do not like the medicines bitter taste. The only noticeable differences in my findings are found within the list of inactive ingredients. The M 500 Metformin pills contain: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose type LF, magnesium stearate, methylcellulose, polyethylene glycol, and titanium dioxide. The RXP 500 Metformin pills contain: Microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, polyvinylpyrrolidone, colloidal anhydrous silica, and magnesium stearate; film coating: lactose monohydrate, methylhydroxypropyl cellulose, titanium oxide, and polyethylene glycol.
