I was on Adderall XR 30 mg, 3X/day for a long time until all the generics came out with the ineffective fillers and they became ineffective. My doctor then switched me to Ritalin 20 mg, 3X/day. They did help to perk me up. I'm on a heavy dose of morphine thru an infusion pump for chronic pain for almost 10 years. I called the office to tell them about the side effects I was having: INTENSE sweating, ANGER, mood changes. I was told to reduce the script to 1/2 pill in the am and 1/2 in the pm. This was a little too low so I take 1 tablet in the am and 1/2 in the pm. So far, this seems to be working well and the sweating has decreased almost 98%, anger is gone. I have been on Adderall 30 mg BID for years but can only take the COR generic and in my area all we have is Barr. I had a very bad emotional recation to it. My doctor switched me last month to Ritalin 20mg BID. I feel tired and like I am on Xanax all the time. So now he is going to switch me to Dexedrine. well, I went off Mallinckrodt after being back on that for awhile at 80 mg and I had to go on the hunt again. Well there is a brand called Zenzedi that has the same 10 mg tablet as wilshire and i find those to last a little longer... not as much mentally hardcore in the focus area but at least the urge to pig out hits every 3.5-4 hours vs 2... They all beat the rest away (vyvanse, dex spansule, adderall, ritalin....) Now they need to go to a higher dose because 180-270 pills depending on the brand per month is nuts. And I respect that long acting generation and that it helps but don't think all of us on them are crackheads. I was prescribed this for a period of time and then there was some drug shortage and had to rotate between the numerous generics of Ritalin until it was available, some worked great and others were horrible and since generic focalin was approved under my insurance (TEVA 93 5277 10 mg white round pills) and my insurance has a mail order service and few people are on it so they have a rather abundant supply I switched back.
