Hello, I live in Australia and wondered if anyone could suggest an alternative to Targin 10/5 mg twice a day, morn & night. I have been taking this for nearly two years. I have a really severe reaction to it, the worst being the itching at night which often prevents me from sleeping at all. I believe it is the codeine in the drug that cause this as the same reaction occurred in the past when taking oxycodeine. I have tried Norspan patches but they are very hard to keep on in our climate as it is so hot in Perth, also they wear off after the second day and don't work anymore on me unfortunately. I have told my doctor about this on more than one occasion and as the reaction is 'itching' he dismisses it and says to put up with it. I use it because I have Anyklosing Spondaly...

Vicoon C literally saved my health. Can't find it anywhere, so hoping to see if there is a replacement for Vicon C that was as good or very similar. ## Hello, Jancann! How are you? Vicon C is just a nutritional supplement that contains a bottle of B vitamins that's used to treat or prevent a deficiency in them. There are many other alternatives available, but the potent once usually require a prescription, since too much of them can also be dangerous. Have you asked your doctor about it? They may be able to suggest something that would be good for you to take. Most pharmacists will also know. ## You might try Z-Bec. This is what my Dr. put me on, after Vicon C was discontinued. Hope it works for all of us!! ## I spent many hours online looking for a replacement for Vicon-C, and ...

I am using Loprin 75 for the last 5 years. I am also using Lisinopril/HCTZ 20 mg ( for blood pressure) and Lipitor 20 mg (for Chloesterol) regularly. In USA Aspirin (NSAID) is available in 81 mg. Can I use this in place of Loprin 75 mg. ?? ## Hello Qamar, Based on my research there are potentially unsafe interactions between Aspirin and Lisinopril/HCTZ. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Before taking aspirin, tell your doctor if you also use lisinopril. You may need dose adjustments or special tests in order to safely take both medications together. If you are receiving therapy with this combination you should check your blood pressure and may need your kidney function monitored. Why did they decide to replace the white xanax bars with green ones....and whats the difference.... My Mom alway gets white bars and she came home today wondering why they were green???? ## The color actually doesn't mean anything other than that your pharmacy is probably using a different supplier for their generics, because they got them cheaper. Same medication, no difference, just made by a different company. ## were the green ones with 3 or 4 segments?

I am currently on 10 mg of methadone 16 times a day. I have to have something for my backpain but cannot deal with the side effects of methadone anymore. What would be a replacement drug that would be as effective? ## Hi Sara, Sorry to hear that your pain medication isn't working as well as you'd like it to. Some of these side effects can be pretty horrible, so I don't blame anyone for trying to find an alternative. A few suggestions I can give you for other prescription pain medications include: Demerol, Morphine, Vicodin (extended release), Percocet, Dilaudid, Opana, Oxycodone, and Fentanyl. Your doctor would have a better clue as to which one of these would best replace the drug you're currently on, but honestly, there's no way of telling ahead of time how you...

If it were me, I'd print some of the pages and take them in to show my doctor that I am not the only one with a problem with them. Here are the links to just some of the discussions on our site about it: As to the problems you have had with the new formulation, I strongly suggest you report it to the FDA and Purdue at the following numbers: Purdue Pharma number for drug safety/medication issues: 888.726.7535 FDA MedWatch number: 800-332-1088 The strongest medication for pain that is currently available by prescription is Fentanyl, it is actually over 80 time stronger than Morp...

I have been taking hydrocodone for leg problems an back.I recently had esopugus cancer but bear it.The funny thing I had a me I for my back and it barely showed anything. Now I am starting to think my stomach is the main problem. Is there any over the counter meds to replace my 10/325 hydrocodone I haven't found nothing yet.thx mike ## There is nothing OTC that will help the pain like what you've been.taking. Talk to your Dr. ## I can't attest to whether or not it's true, but I've heard speculation that certain strains of Kratom were probably the closest type of OTC alternative you can get to the analgesic effects of opioids.. This is not to say that it'll have anywhere near the same type of effect on your individual pain levels/tolerance to various treatment proto...

Bp for last 10 years have been using Concor5 For last two years now it is highly fluctuating after lunch, can I replace with metzok 50 tablets ## Hello, Vinu! How are you? How high is it after lunch? What is it at other times of day, such as when you first wake up? According to the information provided by the NIH, it is normal for your blood pressure to fluctuate throughout the day, depending on when you've eaten, your activity levels and etc. It will never hit certain numbers and remain there all day. What has your doctor advised? You shouldn't make any medication changes, on your own. The FDA lists the typical side effects of blood pressure medications as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, stomach pain and hypotension. Do you also watch your d...

On the web I found a replacement drug for Oxycodone, but now I can not find it. Can anyone help me find this so I can get off the Oxycodone? ## Are you possibly referring to Suboxone? It contains the active ingredients Buprenorphine and Naloxone, it is used to help treat addiction and enable people to eventually become drug free. The Buprenorphine is a narcotic, so it may cause the same side effects that others do, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. The Naloxone is an opiate agonist, to prevent the abuse of other narcotics, while under Suboxone treatment. This medication does require a doctors approval and prescription, for treatment, because it must be used properly. Learn more:

I have been on 50 mg of methadone tid for a 3 months after 2 years years on 40mgs tid. I am also on 2-3 30 mg oxycodone for breakthrough and 100mg ms contin bid. I have reached this stage due to tolerance after 8 years of use for 9+ pain due L3, L4, and 3 cervical herniations, and spinal stenosis. I am also on 1mg of clorazepam tid. I am not getting relief from the methadone and the Pain Doctor wants to look to lessen my methadone due to QT cardiac delays. My doctor is open to reasoned regimen and that is what I need. I will see him next Wed. so I am in a hurry. Thanks in advance. ## Well, you should be aware that regardless of what you try to replace it with, you are likely to still experience some problems, if you stop the Methadone. I have been taking Ativan for 8 years now, prescribed to me by my doctor, after being hospitalized for drug use. I am doing great now, but after a motorcycle accident got prescribed Ativan "lorazepam" again for pain and muscle relief but now I am at 6 mg of Ativan daily and it's not doing the job anymore. It helps me and relieves my pain and anxiety for one hour, then nothing. I need to find a replacement if possible just like Ativan. It's addictive I know, but very helpful in many ways and not heavy or disturbing the next day. I am 43 years old. ## I feel the same way. I noticed a difference in the brand name Ativan made in Germany. It was made by MEDA Manufacturing and I never had a problem until Mylan took over the manufacturing. I'm taking oxyneo 3x20mg dayly for fibromyalgia. Can I replace the oxyneo with Ralivia or Tramacet. At what reduction rate should this be done safely? ## Hi pibird, I have read of Oxyneo users switching to the medication Ralivia, so I'm sure it's possible. When it comes to the dosage you should really ask your doctor, since it will be based on a number of factors like medical history, age, weight etc.. If you'd like, you can post in this thread where other users discuss switching from Oxyneo to Ralivia: /Discuss/Oxy-Neo-235700_s2.htm I hope this helps! ## @pibird, In my honest opinion, switching over from such a high dose of Oxyneo (oxycodone extended release) to what's considered to be a much more noticeably weaker opioid, should probably be done under the supervisi...

Does anyone know what a good replacement for vicodone since they took it off the market? My dr. put me on norco 7.5-325. These are a joke.
