U.S. law requires that all prescription drugs have a unique imprint on the tablets or capsules so the medication can be identified by manufacturer, substance and dosage. However, the way a pill looks is entirely up to the whit and whim of the company making it, so there are many, many pills on the market, both over the counter and prescription that could look like ranitidine. I was prescribed Ranitidine 150 mg manufactured by Amneal. Is it gluten free? I've been having stomach pain since I started it. ## I have to break Amneal 300 mg tabs in half and my throat gets sore. I have been told by the pharmacist and the doctor this is fine to do. May I say how dare BCBS limit me to 90 days only per year of Protonix because it costs more; sure I could appeal it. I can not take any pills that contain lactose. ## Does Ranitidine 300 MG ip 250 contain any lactose? ## Are you referring to the yellow tablets with the IP 254 marking? If so, the inactive ingredients are listed as being collodial silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polydextrose, titanium dioxide, triethyl citrate and D&C Yellow #10. Most medications, such as Ranitidine, don't get dangerous when expired, but they do begin to lose efficacy after that point. Thus, the older they are, the less they are going to work. Are Cimetidine and Ranitidine the same? The doctor told my daughter (who is 8 months pregnant) she could take Ranitidine for acid reflux. All she has is Cimetidine. We were just wondering if it's the same? ## They are different medications, but both are generally considered safe during pregnancy, but it is always best to double check with her doctor to be sure. Hi. My daughter has dental surgery tomorrow and her Dr now says she needs to take Pepcid ac or similar "acid blocker" the night before. This surgery was scheduled with no warning. Now with blizzard its dangerous to go out. We have ranitidine 150 mg exp Jan 2012, its now Feb 2014. Is it still effective? Should she take two (300 mg)? There's no way to get fresh OTC meds. I had taken Rantac 150mg, 2hrs back for G.E.R.D. It expired in August 2016. Please help me. Is it dangerous? ## No, that is nothing to worry about, Vivek. It doesn't become dangerous, once expired, it just starts to lose efficacy, according to the FDA. If you have anymore that is expired, it would be best to dispose of them and obtain a fresh supply. My ranitidine 300mg tablet was made on November 5th, 2016. When is my ranitidine tablet going to expire? ## If they are in an opened contained, then they expire one year from what they were dispensed to you. Simply right ranitidine bought at Sam's club is marked made in India? Is it made by that Co reported on 60 minutes as making substandard generics in India? ## Hi Jack, According to the product labeling, Simply Right Ranitidine is distributed by SAM's West, Inc. out of Bentonville, AR 72716. However the labeling also states that this product is "Made in the USA"; if you check the bottom left-hand side of the package (underneath the Drug Facts). For verification, you can even view an image of the package itself if you google "Simply Right Ranitidine" and follow the second link to amazon. Unfortunately, they don't list any more information than that in regards to where the product is sourced from within the US. Do you think they might be trying to hide something...

Please let me know if too much of this medication taken for a long period of time can cause worms? ## No, that is not a known side effects. This is an antacid and the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, headache, dizziness, flatulence, and diarrhea. Did someone tell you that it could? Are you on any other medications? Worms are most commonly caught via pets, undercooked foods, or walking outside barefoot and stepping in pet waste.

how does it effect to a liver disease or any other diagnosis. ## Ranitidine is a histamine H2 receptor agonist that helps lower the production of stomach acid. In the U.S., as well as many other countries, it is available over the counter. It can react with certain other medications and in some cases an alternative must be used or it has to be taken an hour or so away from the other medication. Can Gas-X be taken with Librax and Ranitidine? Thanks. ## I didn't find any interactions or problems listed, between taking the Simethicone in the Gas-X with the Librax and Ranitidine, but you should check with your doctor, or pharmacist to be certain.

I have celiac disease and have to check my rx to make sure they are free of wheat, oats, rye and their derivatives.
