OxyContin prescription payment assistance for disabled patient
5 Replies RSS
My husband is on OxyContin because he is disabled is there anyway to fill out a form for help of payment for these? Every year we try to find an insurance company to help out with paying for these and they are way over our heads. ## Purdue Pharma does have a patient assistance program, that may be able to help you, but only if you have no other type of prescription insurance. The other criteria include that you must be a U.S. resident and have an income at, or below 200% of the federal poverty level. His doctor would need to request an application and there are sections that both the doctor and patient have to sign, the doctor then sends the application with a prescription attached. If you meet the eligibility criteria, the medication will be shipped to your home. To get the application... ...

Cant aford my prescription so need help ## Hello, Mike! How are you? Purdue Pharma does have an assistance program for those that can't afford their medications. Your doctor needs to request an application for you by calling them at 800-599-6070. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does anyone else have any suggestions? ...

Looking for the manufacturer to see if they have a prescription assistance program. Our COBRA has ran out and no ins. ## There wouldn't be an assistance program for this, because it is a generic medication, however, the name brand MsIR is manufactured by Purdue Pharma and they do have some assistance programs. I am not sure if the program covers this, since it is a controlled substance, but here is the contact information, so you can check: Purdue Patient Assistance Program P.O. Box 66547 St. Louis, MO 63166-6547 (800) 599-6070 You can call them between the hours of 9am and 5pm central time. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for your response. company that makes oxycontin. Want to cintact them. ## I am looking for a prescription assistance program that prescribes oxycontin. I am recently unemployed and take oxycontin for my degenerative back problem. ## Well, you can try the PPARX they provide assistance for a lot of drugs, but only if you don't have insurance. ## Purdue Pharm makes Oxycontin. Look them up on the web. My son, who had no insurance, and was laid off so had no income, was able to get the drug for his pain management directly from them for a $25 copay monthly. It is highly regulated and involves much medical information from the pain management doctor before being approved, but was a godsend when he needed his pain management medication. In such cases, the person can apply for their program and, if approved, their doctor faxes a signed prescription each month, then their medication is shipped for them. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Thus, even such a program for Roxicodone is only of benefit, if you don't have any prescription coverage. 25 Replies RSS
I was laid off from my job after 18 years!!! I have been taking OxyContin 60 for over 5 years now for chronic pain. I have applied to Purdue for their patient assistance program to receive free OxyContin. Dr. Has been in touch with them but it takes at least four weeks to receive the medication. She is presently looking up the alternative medications that I can take in between now and the delivery of my medication from Purdue. Can anyone help me with the alternatives? I'm a wreck and so worried that whatever I'm going to be given will not work as well as the OxyContin 60. ## You may want to talk to your doctor about trying the time released Morphine, the name brand is MS Contin, but it's also available as a generic. I was released from the hospital today & they gave me four rxs one of them is oxycontin 40mg x 60 pills. My wife went to our local pharmacy & when they rang up the total she cried. It can to over $600.00 dollars $425.00 dollars was for the 40 milligram oxycontin pills x60 pills is there a generic or even better ( since we don't have insurance ) a way to contact the company to see if they can help ? ## No, there is no generic of Oxycontin currently available, they were all discontinued due to the great risk of diversion. The FDA felt that if it was only made by one company, then the supplies on the market would be easier to track and monitor. However, if you have no insurance, the manufacturer Purdue does have an assistance program you can apply for. You must meet the qualifi... ...
