I've been taking Propranolol 40mg tablets 3x a day. My doctor has switched me to 120mgs Propranolol extended release. Is there any difference other than one being instant and the other extended? ## Hello, Triss! How are you? No, that's it. The one was regular release and the ER is slowly released over the given time period. Time released medications can help give better blood pressure or cardiac control and increase medication compliance, since they don't have to be taken as often. Propranolol is a beta blocker that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, stomach pain and increased urination. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm doing well. T...

i have only been on propranolol for about 2 weeks now but i feel like i need to stop taking it as ive read and heard it can be dangerous. i take 2 x 40mg a day. i am only on it to stop the symptoms of my hyperactive thyroid so its not anything bad to do with my heart. ive read online that coming off them suddenly may result in angina or heart problems so i dont want to risk it. has anyone got any advice on how to gradually come off them? i was thinking of taking half of one twice a day instead so it would be 20mg twice a day which is half of what i take now. would that be a good way to do it or has anyone got any other solutions? i am a 17 year old female with type 1 diabetes as well. thanks! ## Hello, Jasmin! Why is Pur bloka being used in the treatment of migraine and Anachroid cyst? ## Pur-Bloka contains the active ingredient propranolol hydrochloride, in doses of 10 or 40mg tablets. Propranolol Hydrochloride's principal effect is to reduce the response of the heart to stress and exercise and it reduces blood pressure in patients with hypertension. The indications for this drug however, have no apparent relation to Arachnoid cysts or migraine headaches. The only conclusion I can reach is that Propranolol may help with specific symptoms or your body's response to such conditions; possibly allowing your body to relax when either of these conditions could make someone restless with insomnia. Just a thought.. but I hope this helps! Have you discussed this yet with any doctor or physici...

I was on 40mg of Citalopram and slowly over a few months I cut down to 10mg. On Christmas eve I cut it out totally, the main effect of this was sleeping terribly which I know is normal and why I waited until I had time off work. Now I'm back at work I feel very anxious and had diarreah yesterday quite a bit in work. Now I'm worries my ibs-D is making a comeback, or is it just settling back to work anxiety. Not sure if taking propranolol as and when would help with this. Does anyone have any advice? Need to wait around 4 weeks for an appt at my docs surgery so thought be worth trying forums 1st.

I think the 100 mg is a grayish color with 100 mg on one side and a TP inside a square on the other; I think the 10 mg morphine pill is a light blue color with pms on one side and scored on the other ## Since Morphine is available as a generic, the way it looks and the markings it has on the tablets is going to vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. That said, the one marked TP 100 is NOT a Morphine tablet, nor any type of narcotic. It contains 100mgs of Topirimate, an anticonvulsant medication. It is made by Apotex, they have a similar pill on the Canadian market that is yellow and includes their APO logo on one side of it. The tablet you have marked PMS is also NOT Morphine or any type of narcotic. It contains 40mgs of Propranolol, which is most commonly used to help lower blood pres...
