free coupons ## my son is in wrestling and has ringworm in back of his neck. can i apply this medicine on his neck? (Clobetasol Propionate Cream USP, 0.05%) ## I'm sorry, but this website does not manufacture nor sell any medications, so they are unable to help with medication coupons. There are some companies that have them available for name brand, life-sustaining medications, but as I said those would be through the manufacturer. As to Mom's question, Clobetasol is a steroid class medication, so no it will not treat the fungal infection that causes ringworm. That will require an antifungal topical ointment, so anyone with such an issue will need to see their doctor for an appropriate prescription. Learn more Clobetasol details here. Is there anything I can help with?

Will my old bottle of Clobetasol Propionate (liquid) still work if the expiration date is June 2011? ## A lot of information I'm finding states that you should discard this medication after the expiration date, but according to a Harvard Medical School family health article, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effective 10 - 15 years after the expiration date. I don't know whether or not the drug you have happens to be one of these drugs from t...

Can clobetasol propionate .05% be used to treat athlete's foot fungus on my feet? ## Hello, Jim! How are you? No, this is a steroid medication, so it won't help with athlete's foot, which is a fungal infection. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin redness, irritation and dryness. To treat it, you need an antifungal cream, there are many available over the counter, if your doctor approves of your using them. Alternatively, they can prescribe something for you. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Can I use renovate as an skin antifungal? not athlete's foot ## Can this ointment be purchased over-the-counter? I was using it on my hair at one time prescribed by a hair doctor. Now I find my hair in the same condition.

I was prescribed clobetasol propionate 0.05% for severe chronic inflammation on my genitals and vagina, now my mouth lips are burning and can I use this cream there? ## Many questions like this get posted, so I'd like to clarify the answer for anyone else seeking similar information… If a medication was prescribed to treat one thing and/or to be used on a specific area of the body, you should not try to use it to treat something else or a different area, unless your doctor specifically instructs you to do so. While such a medication as this may be safe on the vagina and genital area, it may not be safe to use on your face, or lips, which also adds the risk of ingesting some of it and that could be very dangerous. Please don't try to self-diagnose and don't ...

Have severe burnt lips for over two weeks from tropical sun. Can I use this ointment for the lip (.05) ? ## Hi Don, Sorry to hear about what happen to your lips. Regarding the Clobetasol propionate ointment, this is a corticosteroid used to treat severe inflammatory skin conditions as well as various skin disorders, ranging from eczema to psoriasis. While it's not intended to be a cure for the condition on your lip, it may help alleviate much of the symptoms associated with a flare-up of pain or discomfort by reducing inflammation, itching and redness. I used 0.05% clobetasol tropical ointment for a month for allopecia and its been 2 months since i stopped using it because my doctor asked me to use it only for a month. I'm wondering if i can use it again as my hair didn't stop falling out and the bald patches are growing bigger? Thank you. ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? These steroids have only been shown to have limited success at treating this condition and the creams/ointments are actually the worst. The tube I got from the pharamacy expires in 1 yr. Is 1 yr normal? It is for clobetasol propionate. Can I use it after the yr is up. The prescription tube is for the spray. Is the spray more potent then the ointment as it seems to work quicker but makes me very tired. ## I was given a prescription for Clobetasol. The prescription box says not to use it after 1 year. I live in N.J. Is it normal for Clobetasol to expire after one yr? The Clobetasol is advised to be used once in the am and once in the pm. I am getting terrible bruising in the area of my arm most affected by psoriasis. ## Yes, your pharmacy would not give you an inaccurate expiration date. Can you use clobetasol propionate ointment USP 0.05 on the vaginal area? ## Based on my research, Clobetasol topical is used to help relieve redness, itching, swelling, or other discomfort caused by skin conditions. From what I've read, most of the nerve endings are just outside the vaginal opening, so it would not be of much use internally in any means. "Unless instructed specifically by your doctor or gynecologist", you should only use it outside the vaginal opening (and a thin layer at that, because it is very potent). You can learn more about this drug on the page for Clobetasol Details I hope this info helps! ## If it hasn't been specially formulated for vaginal use, then no. Using something there inappropriately may cause infections, irritation and other medical pr...

I have seen several posts praising this topical steroid for treatment of incivek rash. It did work great, but now I fear that people in treatment and perhaps their doctors are not being certain that this super steroidal foam could be contra-indicated for the same reasons as prednisone. Prednisone relies on the CYP3-A enzyme for clearance, the same enzyme suppressed by incivek. I am sure that even though clobetasol is topical, when applied on rashy areas it gets into the blood. Question then is does it also involve CYP3-A enzyme for clearance. ## I accidently used Clobetasol Propionate Cream 0.05 in place of my vaginal retrace creme. What will be the reaction?

I was given this tube of cream but, what is it supposed to do? ## I'm curious as to why someone would give you a prescription based tube of cream without telling you what it was. Bad business... Clobetasol propionate cream and ointment contain the active compound clobetasol propionate; a synthetic corticosteroid, for topical dermatologic use. It is indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses. Treatment beyond 2 consecutive weeks is not recommended, and the total dosage should not exceed 50 g/week because of the potential for the drug to suppress the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. Please post back if you have any other questions or comments to add. ## I was given this foam and because my scalp sores are ...
