just want to know if pritiq can cause numbness in the feet and toes ## No, those aren't normal side effects of this medication. That could be the sign of a dangerous reaction, or due to some other medical condition that requires treatment. Learn more Pristiq details here. How often does it occur? ## Pristiq can most definitely cause tingling in the legs and toes. I know because I have it now and since starting this poison. ## Yes, with the generic, I have tingling on the bottom of my feet and left hand. Off and on. I also gained weight, have a numb feeling with thinking, shortness of breath. I was used to the original Pristiq. They want over $400.00 a mo...

Is it ok to take cialis once a day 5 mg while taking pristiq 50 mg ?? ## Hello, Jack! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. However, it should be fine, if your doctor approves of your taking both. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Cialis as possibly including nausea, dizziness, stuffy nose and priapism. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been on 50 mg for a while and haven't been doing as good as I once was- my dr wants me to go to 100 mg but now that they finally make a 25 mg pill. Do you think 75 mg would be good? I'd prefer to be on as small of a dose as I can- lemme know guys or girls if anyone bumped to 75mg with success or 100 mg too when 50 mg wasn't working as good. Thanks and all comments would help out a lot! ## Hello, Chris! How are you? If your doctor agrees, there is no reason to go to the 100mgs, trying 75mgs is perfectly fine and will leave you somewhere to go, if you become tolerant to that dosage. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Should I be taking the above medications daily? ## Can I take 50 mg pristiq, 2.5 mg indapamide and 81 mg aspirin daily ## Hello, Jack! How are you? Has your doctor instructed you to take them all? If so, it would be best to follow their instructions, although this combination may lower your potassium level, so you do need to be careful of that, thus, it would be a good idea to eat potassium rich foods, such as oranges, and bananas, as well as having blood work done regularly to be sure. The U.S. FDA lists the other side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation.

Just started last night 50 mg. Took around 8:30 pm. I woke around 1:50am had to use bathroom. Then tossed, turned all night, brain won't shut off. I think I finally feel asleep around 8:30am woke up 9:40 am... could not get out of bed. Made myself get up. Feel weird, tired but awake. I don't like this feeling. I am laying in bed and was trying to nap since 2pm, no freaking luck! I just want to sleep!!! ## I am very sorry about the problem that you're having. However, this does occur frequently, when starting such a medication. It tends to alter how soon you enter the REM sleep phase and how much time you spent in it, which sometimes results in sleep that isn't restful and/or insomnia. However, it usually improves after about 3 to 4 weeks, once your body gets used to the ...

3rd week on pristiq and I'm still getting anxious and puking because of my anxiety. Should I give the 50 mg more time or ask for another solution? ## Hello, Lola84! How are you? It can take 4 to 5 weeks, before this medication reaches its full level of effectiveness in your body, it can also cause some increased anxiety, for awhile, while you're body is getting used to it. Thus, it may be best to give it a couple more weeks to see if things settle down and it helps you, unless your doctor feels otherwise. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am switching from Lexapro to Pristiq with my Pdoc. He recommended that I drop from my regular 20 mg of lexapro to 10mg and go to 50mg of pristiq. He said after 2 weeks drop the lexapro altogether. is this safe? is it too fast? I take 2 10mg tablets. Should I maybe go to 15mg--10mg-5mg-0? How have other people made the transition with minimum problems? ## How long have you been taking Lexapro for? From my perspective I think what your doctor recommend is fine. What's safe for "you" may not necessarily be safe for someone else (and vise versa, because everyone is different). If you're tapering your Lexapro dose down to 10mg from 20mg within 2 weeks, in my opinion, that seems to be a sufficient time frame to re-adjust. If tapering the dose really concerns you though, I wo...

I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety over 2 years ago and was initially put on 50 mg then increased to 100 mg. I felt very stable initially but over the past few months have been having some issue to time. For example when I create a flyer which should only take me 30 minutes and before I know it 2 hours have passed. I also seem to be having problems rationalising things and sequencing. Has anyone else experienced these problems? My doctor's response was to increase my dosage to 200mg. ## What type of doctor are you consulting? Just a general practitioner or a specialist? Learn more Pristiq details here. In this case, these problems could be serious issues that can affect many aspects of your life and work, so I think you'd be best advised to see a specialist, such as a m...

I have been on pristine for many years! My doc had said to go down to 50 mg for 3 weeks then none. I go in to see him in 3 more weeks- I am a mess!! Crying a lot and brain zaps (good term) from other messages. I hope to God this gets better soon. ## Hello, Sue! How are you doing? Yes, if you were on it for such a long time and abruptly stop taking it, then such rebound and withdrawals effects will usually occur. That was still a relatively high amount to have you stop on. Learn more Pristiq details here. The preferred method now is usually to do a very gradual taper, by slowly lowering the medication and starting to skip doses. Did he give a reason he was having you stop at 50mgs? He could have had you use the regular release formulation and just cut them to lower it further for awhile....

I have been on pristiq for about 8 years. I'm at 100 mg and have been for some time. I want to drop to 50. Does anybody have experience with this? Also, I have started losing hair after having a full head of nice hair. I know it's due to the pristiq and/or Wellbutrin (buspirone) I take. Can anybody relate? ## Most medications that have an effect on your body chemistry can cause hair loss, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache mood changes, and weight changes. Why are you wanting to lower your dosage? What condition was it prescribed to treat? Are you on any other medications?

I was severely depressed due to the loss of my husband in May. My doctor started me out on Zoloft but it did work well for me. Had tremors and felt sick. He switched me to PRistiq starting at 50 mg. I was better for awhile but the dosage was not high enough. I am now on 100 mg and doing much better. No bad side effects and I have lost a lot of weight (this started even before I started taking the Zoloft). My appetite has definitely decreased but I do not feel the need to eat more and food tastes fine. My husband dying and being depressed is a terrible way to trigger a weight loss but I am at a much healthier weight for my age and height. ## I am very sorry to hear of your loss, but also glad that you found a medication to help you. If you do need to know anything else about it, here'...

WAS ON PRISTIQ FOR 3 MONTHS AND WENT OFF BECAUSE INS, WON'T PAY. WHAT ARE THE SYMPTONS GOING OFF THE MEDICINE. ## Nausea and vomiting ## i just posted in another forum, but i have now done 2 weeks of 50 mg (down from 100) - i seriously had almost no side effects. The only things i experienced were: 1) very odd, vivid dreams 2) some night sweats 3) first 2 days some zapping in hands and legs with a little numbness - went away completely after 2 days today is the first day with no pristiq altogether. Again no side effects (so far) except the same zapping and numbness i had when i dropped from 100 to 50. I assume the next few days will be the test. I was advised to go to one 50mg every tother day for another 2 weeks but i may just cut off completely now, i don't think I'm too p...

I have been on Pristiq 50 mg now for 9 days and I'm getting more depressed than when I started. Will this pass? ## Actually, that is something you should have been warned about in the drug monograph, if you received one from your pharmacy. Though it isn't common, antidepressant can cause the opposite of their intended effect in some people. Learn more Pristiq details here. I've run into similar problems with everything we tried to use to help some anxiety and irritability that I was suffering for awhile. Have you contacted your doctor? You really need to talk to them to be on the safe side. This just might not be the right medication for you. ## It does get better it took me about a month to feel normal again.. ## I could be wrong, but isn't pristique similar to cymbalta...

I just wanted to tell all of you trying to get off pristiq, its possible. I was on pristiq for severe panic attacks for 6 months. It saved my life. It gave me a chance to slow down my career, gave me a huge wakeup call. This drug put a cloud over my brain. I was not my happy, fun loving self. I was like a step ford wife. You can't wean off this pill. I was on 50 mg. I did every other day for a month. Every third day for two weeks then cold turkey. It really was not so bad. I layer on my couch for three days, cried a bit and watched movies. I'm happily on all holistic medications, no longer a slave to Pristiq. If I can beat anxiety, anyone can. My biggest advice.. Exercise. Next, surround yourself with positive people. Three, talk out your problems. Good luck. ## Fantastic advice...

I have been on pristiq 50 mg extended release for almost 3 weeks now and for the first time in my life my period is late 6 days. There is no way I am pregnant. Does anyone else have this problem? ## Hello, Cheryl! How are you? Antidepressants can interfere with your menstrual cycle, most will lengthen it, it can also make your actual period heavier or longer than normal. You should consult your doctor to be sure, but it's most likely nothing to worry about. Is there anything else I can help with?

I just started Pristiq today. I have depression and panic attacks several times a week. I was previously on Lexapro and Lamictil. I felt The Lamictal induced the panic attacks. My doc changes me to Effexor 160mg. My HR went through the roof, nausea, shakiness. My doc switched me to Pristiq. I feel so nauseated. How long will this last? I cannot wait this out for weeks! I have a life: a family, a job! I've seen mainly bad reviews for this medicine! Feeling frustrated! ## Hey Mama, I was on lexapro too and switched to pristiq. I am currently on day 36 of pristig 50 mg and the nausea went away after about a week. So with that part it'll get better. I too have bad anxiety and actually puke from anxiety but I have yet to puke on pristiq. Anxiety wise i don't know if it's help...

I take 50 mg Pristiq and have been doing so for about a year. I used to take OTC cold medicines to fight off a cold. My question is whether those with Dextromethorphan can be taken with Pristiq safely? ## Hello, My findings state that there are potentially unsafe interactions between Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) and Dextromethorphan. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Talk to your doctor before using dextromethorphan together with desvenlafaxine. Combining these medications can increase the risk of a rare but serious condition called the serotonin syndrome, which may include symptoms such as confusion, hallucination, seizure, extreme changes in blood pressure, increased heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, shivering or shaking, blurred vision, muscle spasm or st...

I’ve been on Pristiq for about a year going from 50 mg up to 100. I’ve been having issues with shortness of breath but it’s gotten much worse and I made an appt with a cardiologist after my regular dr didn’t find anything. I had gotten to where I was seriously out of breath walking from the front room if my house to the back. In the meantime, totally unrelated I have been weaning off of the pristiq because of a severe sweating problem that was no longer tolerable. I’ve realized that after being down to 50 mg, one tab every third day, my breathing issue is much, much better. Could it be the pristiq that was causing the problem and has anyone else had this issue? ## According to FDA reports, Pristiq has been known to cause trouble breathing, as a side effect,...
