My Subutex prescription was different!

I just filled a 3 day supply of my Subutex & when I got home I realized it was a new pill I've never seen before. I did some research & they're from Sun Pharmaceutical Industries. They're white, round & say 460. I'm being told by a friend that the Roxane brand (54's) will no longer be available. Does anybody know anything about this? I'm not a fan of change! LoL. ## Yes, Sun Pharmaceuticals lists this tablet as containing 8mgs of Buprenorphine, which is a generic for Subutex. Unfortunately, I do not have any information on the ones manufactured by Roxane. Have you started taking it, yet? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mout... ...

My husband has been on subtext for almost 8 years when he first started going to the clinic we thought that he was going to be weaned off the opiates but every trip to the doctors he was giving a prescription for more subtext which we are being charge a three hundred dollar visit every month and that doesn't include the price to have the prescription filled which we can't afford so my question is can he safely get off of this medicine? ## Yes, but it will require a slow taper to prevent withdrawal issues, since it does contain an opiate. The FDA warns that suddenly stopping it could cause rebound effects, such as nausea, pain, elevated heart rate, elevated blood pressure, fever, chills, and diarrhea. His doctor should be able to help him set up a proper tapering schedule. Has he... ...

i,am currantly going away next year too lanzaroti off the cannary islands i,am currantly on a regular script of "18mg of "subutex" per day these have been perscribed by my phyciatrist. will i need too take any proof off my docter or phyciatrist or any docters letters too take with me or can i just take them at my own will ## I would suggest contacting a doctor or pharmacy there and asking them what you need to do. It is most likely that you can take a certain amount with you, but after that you will probably need a prescription from a doctor there to continue getting it. Learn more Subutex details here. Most locations have limits, such as your only being able to take 3 months worth of any prescription medication. Have you looked into the laws there yet? ...

You people that are prescribed the subutex that you were asking the chat board questions about: If you are not a pregnant or breastfeeding woman as of July 1st 2015 then you will be prescribed suboxone or something else but never just plain buprenorphine. As far as the orange Halfmoon generic subutex, you take them the same way that you would take any other kind of subutex / suboxone; they are sublingual. ## What state are you referring to in the above comment? I'm a receptionist at a recovery clinic in PA we have not discontinued prescribing subutex. I have faxed or called in a total of 37 prescriptions this week alone. I think people come on the internet asking about different brands of drugs (not just buprenorphine) to see how other patients have reacted to the brand. Pharmacists... ...

Where can we buy Generic Subutex in UK? Please can anyone give me some names and address ## Subutex (and it's generic equivalent) are classified as controlled substances available by prescription only. So I think your best bet for obtaining it would simply be to get a script through your doctor. Suboxone may be another possible option if you're finding that Subutex is difficult to get a prescription for. I'm not sure why this is, but many people have stated that doctors are often reluctant to prescribe Subutex over Suboxone as a first consideration. Do you find this to be true in the UK? ...

If anyone can help me plz just post back if possible. ## I had been calling all these doctors that are popping up on the internet as it takes a specific type of doctor's or a special requirement for your own doctor to write prescriptions like methadose/methadone Suboxone an Subutex an my pain med doctor can only write my pain meds cause he don't have the other license to prescribe those 3 so I heard there is a Medicaid or Medicare website with a list of prescribing doctors that will see a patient with Medic... ...

How can I get around this new law on subutex I've been on it for 2 years and not suboxone for the simple fact I can't afford the suboxone I can fill my entire months prescription for less than 200 now I spend 200 for a weeks supply just because it has nalaxone...please help ## Hi Calvin, I'm a little thrown off by your title and description, because on one end it asks 'how to get subutex' and on the other it says that you've 'been on it for 2 years (and not suboxone)'....If not suboxone, did you mean to say subutex? If I get prescribed the sublingual film could I ask the pharmacy to dispense the generic tablets ## No Nate. They won't switch out. Subutex is a completely different script. ## @nate, It probably wouldn't hurt to ask, but if I'm not mistaken, your doctor may have to be the one to make that request prior to writing your 'next' prescription. Usually the pharmacy will only give you what they have on the shelf at that time unless your doctor makes a point of notifying them on the script that you want a specific form of the medication. Do the sublingual films not work as well for you? ...
