I'm 35yrs old... for the past 4 yrs now I've been taking 1 25mg arthrexin together with 2 green panados 500mg.. but I have been getting these attacks where I become bed ridden n my hubby has 2 carry me 2 the bathroom as my feet and hands swell up n the pain is unbearable... then I took 2 prednisone with 2 arthrexin n well im not walking normally but I am managing to limp along... I have read alot of reviews here and on other web sites, but all I can say about this drug is...Where have you been...I am taking 5m tabs 12 a day for 5 days and it decreases to 10 for 4 days and 8 for 3 until you're down to one tab. I am taking it for a lower back pain caused by 2 degenterive discs and bone chips. It help straighten me up and eliminated 90% of the pain. My concern is what happens when I have to stop....I love this medication, and it has also cleared my vision where I no longer need cheaters...It works for me ## I have been off and on drugs for Chronic Neuropathy for 13 years.Nothing helps the pain.Now they want to put me on Prednisone and I am afraid of it.Does anyone have any horror stories on Predisone?I need to know before I commit myself to this...Please!! I have been on 15mg Prednisone now for 10 months and my team of specialists want me to quit cold turkey will this cause issues for me? I tried to reduce down to 13mg a while back but suffered severe back oain and confusion after only reducing by 2mg... ## Lani --- i don't think its a good idea to go off Prednisone cold turkey. Your adrenal system needs to adjust slowly -- reducing by 11/2 to 2 mg a week would be better until your down to 5 mg. I have been on 40 milligrams of Prednisone for about 5 weeks now because of autoimmune pancreatitis. In the past weeks I have gained 35 pounds in water retention whatever you wanna call it. I'm so depressed and feel like crap all the time but when I don't take the medicine for about a day I start getting really bad pains in my knees or the back of my leg. The doctor is giving me another prescription to slowly wean 5 milligrams off a week but it doesn't seem to be making anything better. I take three 10mg physeptone daily for chronic pain caused by lupus and fibromyalgia. Recently developed a virus which caused painful inflammation when dry coughing and extra pain throughout my body. I also did not realize I had a temp above 38c. My doctor prescribed 25mg prednisone for a week. I took 40mg of prednisone for 5days without tampering after being on ER due to a feeling of pass out I had. I've been taking prednisone for 7 days (5mg tablets 4 times a day) I started with a chest infection, took two lots of antibiotics which helped a little then I was moved onto prednisone (I have asthma and inhalers weren't working), I'm guessing the prednisone is reducing the inflammation? I was diagnosed with steroid withdrawal after receiving 3 steroid shots. and given a 12 day taper. When I got down to last pill the pain in my 2 shoulders and hip came racing back. Greetings. I am a 67 year old woman destroyed by auto immune disorders that required prednisone that destroyed me further.
