my doctor moved out of state and I'm having a very hard time finding a doctor willing to prescribe Soma. If you can help please let me know ## Try another Doctor? ## I have! They said they or their practice no longer will prescribe them. ## Many drs no longer rx Soma due to the high rate of abuse. Asking a dr to rx a drug like Soma is a way to not get it. ## While it is highly abused its still just a schedule 4 medicine. I have a Doctor who likes me very much and knows I have had back surgery and was hit by a Semi Truck last year. I have one of 3 refills left and yeas things are changing and one day I expect him to say no yet that has not happened?

I'm on here looking for a solid doctor from people that have had a good experience, as my PCP keeps telling me to go see a pain management doctor. I'm looking for a doctor that still prescribes 30mg oxycodone with no problems. I have 5 years of medical records and continued proof of taking oxycodone but can only get 15mg which isn't enough to make my pain go away. Please help me asap! Thanks {edited for privacy} ## Hello, Rob! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. Technically, any doctor with their license to practice medicine could prescribe it, but there's no way to be certain they will, even if they are a pain management specialist. The only thing you can do is set ...

I am a long time pain suffering patient that still needs to work. And pay a lot for opana. What Pharmacies in Portland carry Generic Opana ? Actavis brand or other?. Someone please help. I'm currently experiencing severe sciatic pain and knee pain. ## I'm sorry, but there is no listing of pharmacies according to what they do or do not have in stock that I can refer to for you. Since this is a controlled substances that is very commonly abused, the only way to get an accurate answer would be to go into the pharmacies, with your prescription in hand and ask them if they carry the generic. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I c...

I dont have insurance so i cant afford the expensive pain management clinics here. I need a doctor who will write my rx for 20mg oxycodone or other things i need without the usual uptight doctor response of "only once, go to pain management". I've had 34 ortho surgeries and have constant mind bending pain. I take as directed. Just need what used to be known as a "dr. feelgood". Portland, Oregon ## Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not just on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask...

I need a doctor that will prescribe me methadone I currently go to a clinic for that and I own a business and it's too expensive to pay 400 a month and time-consuming I would like to find the doctor in Portland Oregon or Vancouver Washington who would prescribed me the methadone so I don't have to go to the clinic every day and peaid $400 out of my pocket?? ## Are you familiar with suboxone? It's comparable to Methadone, but much, much better. You need to find a Dr. that's qualified to prescribe it, usually a Psychiatrist is who you need to see. SUBOXONE comes in pill form. You take it 1 time a day. It's taken sublingually, (Under the Tongue). It is a VERY long lasting drug. It won't make you feel high, but it will get you "Well" it's much easier to g...

need a new doc for pain rx in portland. Have insurance, injury, but need to find appropriate relationship. ## Hello, Vanessa! How are you? I'm sorry, but I have no way of knowing whether or not any given doctor is going to prescribe anything. Do you have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, having them refer you to someone would most likely be the easiest way to find the help you need. Does anyone know of a good doctor in that area?

I was on a contract with my family dr for over 4yrs he retired and his replacament doesnt believe in them ive tried every thing possible and meds are the only thing thwt has helped I was born disabled and its in my bones and only will be getting worses ## I'm sorry you are in pain. The state I live in is just as bad. I hate to say it but we as a patient have to get a pain management physician. You will also have to have a strict contract with him or her. Unfortunately, pain physicians are being overwhelmed because family physicians will no longer prescribe for anyone. Unless you are lucky enough to find one who does. It took me over 20 years to find a pain physician. My spine is shot but they didn't care. I will warn you though, pain management is expensive. Its well worth it if...

I am looking for a list of Suboxone providers in the Portland Oregon area that accept Medicare as payment. Suboxone for Pain Management specifically. ## There is no specific list of doctors that prescribe it for pain management, because actually any doctor can prescribe it for that, just like Methadone. The specialty lists are just for those that need it for addiction treatment. Learn more Suboxone details here. However, the problem you may run into is if you are contacting doctors and wanting them to prescribe a specific medication, because most doctors will consider that drug seeking behavior. The best thing you can do is find a pain management specialist that accepts your Medicare and make sure that they get a full copy of your medical records. If they see what has and hasn't wor...

suffering from cronic headaches and neck pain due to a variety of events ## looking for a new dr. who will be willing to give me the same meds as I was taking before I moved here, they are narcotics that I take on a regualar basis for headaches and neck pain, hydro codone 10 to be exact, where I came from it is tough to find a dr. who will help you, how will I start over in Portland to find a helpful Dr.? ## I'd suggest looking for someone that specializes in pain management and making sure that they get a full copy of your medical records from your prior doctor. In many cases, if you go in asking for a specific medication they will see it as drug seeking behavior, but they can see what works for you as documented by other physicians, they are more likely to prescribe accordingly. I am stuck at a methadone clinic cause my Dr got in trouble for over scribing . I have 2 slipped discs that why I take methadone 160mgs n have PTSD anxiety so I was given klonipin. I need a psych Dr who will help.me out here in Portland Oregon willing to drive elsewhere if I had to. Pls help! ## Hello, Emily! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. However, once you've been to a Methadone clinic and have that in your medical records, you'll have to stick with the clinic. Even if you didn't go for addiction treatment, the clinic treatment is listed in your records and it would be illegal for a regular doctor to prescribe the Methadone for you. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit fo...

Hi I just moved from Washington State to Portland,Oregon. I am on SSDI for back injury,3 bulging disks and massive arthritus in neck, and 3 in thoratic back, and for Degenerative disk disease.I was going to a pain management center-referred to them by my regular doc,& they had me taking Norco-Vicodin 30 mgs a day. When I came to Portland,OR the doc that I'm seeing now said she's going to "wean me off" of pain meds, that I need to be able to function doing just everyday living things like showering, walking the dog, ect. I asked her then what? After I'm completely off them, she said well U could try PT but U said that hasn't worked in the past-which it didn't the PT I went to actually sent me home saying it was making condition worse/more pain. What I need to know

Trying to find a dr. in portland, oregon. ive had chronic pain for over 10 years and my medical wont cover anymore. The pain is unbearable now and I need several surgeries to not be in pain including 2 back surgeries. If someone could please help me find a good DR. that isnt under someones thumb that would really help. thank you ## Hello, Trish! How are you? I am very sorry about the problems you are dealing with, being in pain is horrible. However, if your medical insurance will no longer cover it, that is not going to change, even if you see a different doctor. I mean a doctor can request authorization, but they can't force your insurance to cover anything. Additionally, all doctors are under the 'thumb' of the government, if they are thought to prescribe medications inapp...

I need a Doctor that will prescribe adderall or other ADHD medications in Portland, OR. I had a script before I moved here, but no luck finding a doctor that will let me have my script again. I really need this medication. I do not abuse it, but recently I've had a terrible time with Care Oregon. I'm willing to pay out of pocket, but some psychiatrists still will not even take an appointment with me bc I'm in the system under Care Oregon. In Arkansas, it was no problem. I had medicaid. My medicade was smoothed over due to the affordable care bs and it has been a year of red tape. I'm moving back to California and I am sure it will be very difficult there as well. Anyone know what I should do? I am thinking that I should schedule an appointment with a private practice and...

Is it safe for me to take daily , my doctor wants me to take it for 4 months ## In my opinion 50,000 a day (from dietary supplements) is way too much. My girlfriend was diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency also as she lives in rainy Portland, Oregon. Her doctor suggested 50,000 IU per "week" for a certain number of weeks in order to reverse her deficiency. I know everyone is different, but 50,000 a day seems like a long shot from supplements alone and should probably be tapered down to a normal dose range after the 4 month period is up so it doesn't become toxic in your system (as Vitamin D2 is synthetic). I personally take 5,000 IU of Vitamin D3 per 'day' as that is what I've read in many health magazines to be a healthy dose. If you are able to, I would strongly...

Need to now how save Vitamin D2 50,000 IU is. ## First off, Vitamin D2 is a synthetic form of vitamin D. Want you want is Vitamin D3 if you are choosing the route of supplements. I suppose you can say both are synthetic since they are man made, but D3 is as close as it gets to actually getting sunlight. Do you live in an environment that doesn't provide much sunlight? I live in Portland, Oregon at the moment so I completely understand the lack of sunshine. But if you are fortunate enough to have a sunny environment, take advantage of it for at least 30 minutes a day and toss the supplements. In the world of nutrition, too much isn't a good thing. I think most people would agree that 50,000 IU is about 48,000 IU TOO much! Normal supplements of D3 contain 1,000-2,000 IU. Did you m...

Everyone who is on pain medicine for chronic pain, we need to do something about our medicine being cut to almost NOTHING due to all the people that abuse and combine other drugs and end up overdosing. The ones of us that do not abuse our drugs, we need them to have some quality of life is slowly being stripped from us. We need to get together and find out whom to get in touch with, because WE are being punished for the other's that are abusing them! I could go on an on an get madder an madder, I won't. Does anyone know who to contact? We shouldn't have to suffer because of others abuse!! ## Is there anyone out there live in the portland, oregon area know of a doctor that isn't going by these guidelines of 90 to 120mg max.
