Gen Eq: FIORICET, what is this medication and how does it make you feel and what is it for. will it cause anexity? ## I was prescribed that medicine in place of methodone thats all i can say ## This is not a narcotic, so I am not sure how it is supposed to replace Methadone. This is Acetaminophen, with the barbituate Butalbital and Caffeine, it is usually given to help with migraine headaches. Common side effects may include; nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and sedation. Read more: Are there any questions? ## The original question: Does this cause anxiety among some users? ## I have been given this medication for Migraines and I am already taking Vicodin for pain, and it hasn't been helping so the E.R. Is it possible to accidentally overdose on but/apap/cf50-325-40 tab? ## Certainly; too much of anything can be harmful. You can even die from drinking too much water. APAP (Acetaminophen) can cause severe liver damage if taken in large quantities over a given period of time. And this isn't even considered overdosing. It's a shame that they are "just now" informing patients to lower their dose of APAP after all these years, due to people having liver problems and other health issues from this drug. I hope that helps shed some light on how dangerous these drugs can be, before you even begin to overdose. In my opinion, 325mg is definitely a "safer" dose than what is considered to be harmful to your body, so as long as you follow the dosing schedule and administratio...

Do you think taking half a butalb will have any effect? Sorta afraid to take the whole pill... Headache is due to vertigo.. It's hard to read, but I think it's a 40mg pill. ## Hello, Jack! How are you? From the dosages you've listed, this tablet contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen, 50mgs of Butalbital and 40mgs of Caffeine. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, insomnia and nervousness. And yes, you can try taking just half of one, if your doctor approves. Is there anything else I can help with?

Where is the picture? My pill has 503 on other side and 20/25 other side. ## Hello, Doloro! How are you? The tablet with the 5032 20/25 marking contains 25mgs of Hydrochlorothiazide and 20mgs of Lisinopril, which is used to treat high blood pressure. It is not a narcotic of any type. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, dry cough and stomach pain. There is also not Oxycodone with a K 25 on it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What tablet are you asking about?

My generic Fioricet pill has LCI on one side and 1695 on the other. It is round and blue. Is this a good generic Fioricet pill? The price has increased greatly! For many years I only received a round white pill. I want to make sure my pharmacy is giving me a good quality generic Fioricet pill. ## Hello, Fran! How are you? All generics are good quality. They all have to meet the same quality and efficacy guidelines set by the U.S. FDA. There's really nothing to worry about with any generic you receive from your pharmacy. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, irritability and sedation. Is there anything else I can help with?

i have been prescribed butalb-apap-caff 50-325-40 tab as part of an epilepsy seizure treatment. directions are take one tablet every 4 hrs as needed for pain but not more than 3 days in a row. can anyone explain the reason for taking not more than 3 days in a row? ## I can't speak for your doctor and their specific reasoning for it, but there are usually several reasons that these instructions may be included and I can inform you what some of those are. One reason would be the risk of it masking other serious symptoms, for instance, if you're taking so much of something to relieve pain that you're not realizing that your pain is getting a lot worse and requires another look by a medial professional. There are also other symptoms that may be masked, such as worsening seizures...

I have been prescribed this for cluster headaches. I am also a heart patient. This does not seem to do the trick for breaking the cycle. What would u recommend? ## Hello, Mike! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. What medications do you take for your heart condition? Some of them can cause headaches as side effects, as reported by the FDA. So it could be that one of them needs to be adjusted or changed, rather than trying something to treat the headaches. Many of them can also cause dehydration, which can worsen the problem.

Is it possible to overdose on this drug in a way that causes death? What are the symptoms? ## Hello, From what I can gather, this combination can potentially be fatal, but you would have to ingest a very significant amount. A serious overdose of butalbital and acetaminophen may result in toxicity. Toxicity due to caffeine is less likely, due to the fairly small amounts in this formulation. The symptoms of overdosing on these medications are as follows: Butalbital: toxicity from Barbituate poisoning may include confusion, drowsiness, and coma; respiratory depression; hypotension; and hypovolemic shock. Acetaminophen: dose-dependent, potentially fatal hepatic necrosis is the most serious adverse effect. Renal tubular necroses, hypoglycemic coma, and coagulation defects may also occur. Ear...

I am having surgery on my nose and need to know if this medication thins your blood? ## Hello, Jef! How are you? The Acetaminophen in this can cause some blood thinning, but not as much as NSAIDs. I'd suggest checking with your surgeon to see if you need to stop taking it. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, nervousness and insomnia. Did they give a specific list of what not to take? ## Jeff, Hope all went well with surgery, my husband has had a runy nose for about 1 year to 18 months what was your reason for surgery

I have been prescribed both and feel like the klonopin isnt working well when I take them together. ## Hello, Monkey mom! How are you? The caffeine is probably affecting how well the Klonopin works, since it's essentially a stimulant and the benzodiazepine is a downer. Have you tried taking them separated by a few hours? That might work better, if your doctor approves. The Typical side effects to Butalbital, Acetaminophen and Caffeine, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, stomach irritation and insomnia. Klonopin is a benzodiazepine, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

My Nurse Practitioner wants me to take Lyrica 75mg. every day for pain. Looked up the side effects & am very apprehensive about this drug. Is anyone on here familiar w/ this drug? I find 2 extra strength Ecotrin helps just as much & has far less side effects. ## As I said, I am very apprehensive about taking this drug. If Ecotrin does the job why should I take another prescription drug that worries me? ## Well, in reality the ultimate choice is up to you, so it you don't want to take it, because you aren't comfortable with the risks, no one can make you. Ecotrin just contains Aspirin, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so if it works, then there is no reason to switch to something else. However, you do have to be careful how much of it you are taking in a day. Le...

I was just prescribed butalb acetamin caff 50 325-40. I've been having these headaches for 5 months. im allergic to codeine, and i just want to know if this has codeine in it or if it is considered a narcotic. what happens if i take two of these? ## Hello, Mary! How are you? No, those abbreviations stand for Acetaminophen, Butalbital and Caffeine, so it is not a narcotic. This medication is most commonly used to treat migraines. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, insomnia and stomach irritation. And you should only take the amount prescribed by your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

my primary dr prescirbed the "butal acet caff" one in Dec 2013 & then my nuerologist said it had aspirin in it so she gave me the "butalbital apap caffeine" today jan 2014 I take coumadin & my blood work has been messed up since dec. anyone know what is the difference between them ## There is no difference between the two you listed, APAP is just medical speak for Acetaminophen, which is what the acet stands for, not Aspirin as the neurologist thought. As to your blood work, what do you mean by messed up? Is your INR fluctuating greatly? ## I have had 3 cervical fusions for a farm injury that resulted in chronic Migraines. The Butalbital with aspirin (ASA) works exponentially better for me than version with acetaminophen.

My endodontist prescribed this for pain after doing a root canal. Will this be of help under these circumstances? ## Hello, Ronnie! How are you? This medication is most commonly used to treat migraines and tension headaches. The Acetaminophen in it may help with some pain relief from the root canal, but I doubt it will do much. Have you tried it, yet? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, nervousness, insomnia, sedation and stomach irritation. ## Hi! I ended up not using the medication. I had very little discomfort after the root canal and just took a couple of Advil. All the possible side affects kinda worried me also. Thanks for answering. Take care! ## Very welcome! I'm glad you're doing well! ## My pharmacist says this will not bothe...
