Do you get memory problems eg cant remember what day it is,when did i do that?all short term, time goes so quick ## Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that is used to help reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach to treat or prevent conditions such as heartburn, GERD, gastritis and ulcers. And no, it isn't known to cause that as a side effect, however, it is difficult to say what effect a medication is going to have on any particular person. Have you consulted your doctor? It's very important that you do so, in order to discover whether this is caused by the medication or something else.

We were receiving the Pantoprazole 40mg EC tablets, yellow~oval~w434. The last refill we received the Pantoprazole 40mg DR tablets, white~oval~KU181. These do not seem to be working as well as the original ones. We were trying to locate the differance between EC and DR. We did discover the DR means delayed release, but found no info on EC. Could you please help us figuring out what the difference is?? Thank You ## Hello, Markayshai! How are you? Both abbreviations really mean they same thing, they just designate it as being a time released formulation. The EC stands for enteric coated, there are many that the pharmaceutical industry uses for this. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Fantastic! I couldn't find anything anywhere what EC mean't!! Do you know if different man...

leggs ache, headaches, chest and back discomfort and feel completly drained i just took my first pill about4 hrs ago is this normal ## It can cause some problematic side effects, in some people that take it, but they should wear off after awhile, once your body gets used to the medication. Learn more Pantoprazole details here. However, if they are severe enough to make you really miserable, then you should consult your doctor, there are other medications you can try, so there's no need to stick with one that makes you feel awful. When found to have gastritis, I was first put on Omeprazole and it actually landed me back in the ER due to making my stomach pain even worse. I had to switch to Pepcid for a few months during the initial healing phase. Are you also watching what you eat? #...

I recieved a prescription for Pantoprazole Sodium DR 40mg. But my pill looks completely different from what I've had in the past and is different from the descriptions I can find on what it should look like. I have a white, oval tablet with "97" imprinted on one side. The imprints vary between red or black in the same bottle. What do I have in my hands? Any help is appreciated. ## How did you look for it, did you just do a search for what Pantroprazole should look like, or did you search for that imprint? The imprint is what enables a pill to be identified. If you just search for examples of what it should look like, you'll not likely have much luck, since this is a generic medication and most sites don't list all possible options. It is the correct medication, this ...

Do I need to stop taking the Pantoprazole/ ## Dear mam, if ur on chemotherapy please use the pantoprazole domperidome combination or rabeprazole domperidome combination. Do not use separate meds. is weight gain a side effect of this drug? ## Hi e, Interestingly enough, weight gain is actually considered to be a rare side effect of Pantoprazole. It's not listed as a side effect on any of the government websites, but various other articles state this to be so. How long have you been taking it for? ## does pantoprazole make your breast larger ## A friend of mine was telling me the doctor gave this to him about 12 days ago, and he got a large 4 inch itchy swelling on his forearm. His pinky toe swelled up and is so itchy and red. Anyone had a side effect like this? What could cause this?

I've been prescribed pantoprazole 40mg for recurring gastritis and while I find they are wonderful at removing the gas, hunger pangs and nausea I am still experiencing the upper abdominal gnawing pain in my stomach (albeit to a lesser degree than before, but it is still present everyday). I have no weight nor blood loss and am otherwise healthy. Do I need medication changed or could something else be going on? Thank you ## Well, I myself have a lot of experience in this area, I suffered from it for years and was misdiagnosed quite a few times, until the fact that it was gastritis was actually stumbled upon by an intelligent ER doctor. Anyway, the PPI medications can actually cause that type of pain as a side effect, so that actually may be what's causing it. The same thing happe...

My Gastro doc had me on this (Pantoprazole 40mg) (first Nexium until insurance would no longer pay for Nexium) for 1.5 yrs for ulcers-----He said my ulcers are cured now taper off ------I can't seem to get off this stuff. I continue to have acid problems (lump in throat feeling) like I've never had before in my life. Did I get addicted to it? Does not seem to matter what I eat either. ## Hello, Chuck! How are you? I am sorry about what you are dealing with, I know it can be very annoying, my mother-in-law was just dealing with something similar and she was miserable. But no, it is not an actual addiction, because you haven't been abusing the medication, you've only been taking it as prescribed. The problem you are having is due to dependence, it happens just because your...

I have been prescribed pantoprazole 40mg to take one hour before my evening meal. The pill is small, yellow in colour with no markings. It is manufactured by Teva UK. I have been taking this medication for 16 days now and I'm not sure whether it is working. The reflux, gas and nausea have mostly gone, yet I still feel a dull pressing pain in in my upper stomach area. It is not as frequent as before, but it is still present. Is this normal? Everything I read online says I should be cured by now but I know we are all different and my doctor has prescribed the pills for 8 weeks in total. Does it sometimes take a bit longer for the pain to leave or should I request a change to my prescription? thank you. ## I'm not sure what your read, but 16 days is kind of soon to expect it to wor...

I have been taking pantoprazole 40mg for almost 3 months now and while it helped my abdominal pain after 1 month of use the symptoms are now returning in a milder form. I experience sharp pain in my upper left side ( stomach area), gas and hunger pains that are normally relieved by eating. Lately, the discomfort can be felt on the right side slightly also and in my left side and back. What is going on? Shouldn't the medication help this? ## Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces the amount of acid produced by the stomach, so it can help treat or prevent conditions such as ulcers, GERD, heartburn and gastritis. But it can cause stomach pain and bloating as side effects, so that may be what's causing your problem. Alternatively, you may have something else going on a...

I have taken P-Sesq 3 times a day during my pregnancy and I am more than 16 weeks pregnant. I was recommended by the dr to take it once daily for 7 days. I am taking it with Onset, as Onset was recommended for 3 times a day as well. So by mistake I took P-Sesq three times a day. So is it risky or dangerous or does it have any side effect?

I ran out of my prescription for pantoprazole last night and couldn't refill today. Now I have to wait till monday. I'm taking 40mg twice daily. Should I be concerned to wait that long? ## How long have you been taking it? This medication is generally meant to only be used for a short period of time to reduce the amount of acid produced by stomach to treat, or prevent conditions, such as ulcers, GERD, gastritis, and heartburn, according to FDA reports. It is also available over the counter, so you can pick up a small supply at most local stores to help you, until you can obtain the prescribed refill.
