I can't believe how hard these doctors are. Is it the doctors or govt. I fly back to FL every month to get my 180 30mg roxi and 60mgs 2X a day. ## It is the government, new regulations were put in place this year that restrict which doctors can prescribe what medications, how long they can prescribe them, how much they can prescribe and why they can prescribe them… and of course, they are all concerning controlled substances. If you are currently living in Phoenix, then no doctor in Florida should be prescribing you such medications and no pharmacy there should be filling them for you. You should live within a certain radius of both the doctor and the pharmacy. Continuing to make this trek to get these medications could cause you to end up getting flagged and that may cause yo...

I.have been in three car accidents-broken collar.bone-broken leg-two knee surgies-torn rotary cuff-torn acl-and missing muscle and tissue in my hip. I am a 23year old female so most hesitate to help and dont understand that it shouldn't matter my age it should matter what happened to me and what works. Please respond with any suggestions. ## Hi pinky, Sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licen...

In addition I have stenosis of the canal that your spinal cord runs thru. at one point 70% blocked.i am in horrid pain, and i can supply all pertinent medical records u made need.Ray G. ## this site is not associated with any doctors and we have no way of knowing what type of patients they will treat, nor what treatments they may provide. Have you tried asking your regular physician for a referral to a pain management specialist? There may also be some spinal specialists in your area that can help. What other types of treatments have you tried?

I have been on methadone for about 6 years and had to start going to a maintenance clinic a few yrs ago after my pain dr lost his license here in Phoenix, Arizona. I tried going to another pain clinic after mine closed but they wanted me off the methadone and forced me to taper off of it in one week and demanded I took gabapentin which DOES NOT work and they didn't care. Anyways, I went to mmt clinic and have been there since but there are so many things wrong with it, I'd end up writing a book. Does anyone know of a pain Mgmt doc who writes methadone scripts in Metro Phoenix area? ## Unfortunately, since you've been going to the clinic, it isn't likely that you'll find a doctor that will take you on. For addiction/maintenance, the current laws will only allow it to ...

Desperately seeking a new pain management dr or personal care provider in the Tempe/Phoenix/East Valley are that will be considerate enough to let me partake in the "mandatory" drug panels by means other than urinary. I am a spastic paraplegic that is incontinent, I use self catheterization which can produce severe discomfort under normal conditions, let alone from a chair or in an uncomfortable position or place. I have actually been hospitalized for a condition which can be brought on called autonomic dysreflexia (AD). I have been on fentanyl and oxycodone for the last 7 years due to a bullet in my spine. My normal blood pressure is 120/80. My blood pressure has been recorded at 160/122 without the dr taking notice that things were going wrong even after my complaints. 160/122...

I currently take methadone for pain but my dosage just isn't cutting it anymore so i keep running out bc the doctor doesn't want to increase it, EVEN THO the label clearly says "if you feel your medication is not controlling your pain, your dose may need increased" due to a tolerance build up. I've been on pain pills for years and have taken a ton of different meds just to find ONE that actually WORKED! It took forever. My doc was retiring and me and his "colleague" did NOT get along, so i had to give a new doctor that would keep me on my current treatment. Well when i called new office and explained to them that i was currently taking 80mg Oxycontin 3x's a day, with 30mg Oxycodine for break thru. So they shrunken me an appt but flat out told me "ther...

My father in law takes 120 milligrams a day or 4-30 milligrams a day and is looking for pain management doctor who is willing to prescribe that amount for him. The only ones he's been able to find only want to do half of that. Does anyone know of any good doctors around there? He used to go to a doctor in northern Az but they quit the pain management program and now he has to transfer to Phoenix. Thank you! ## Advanced pain management in Chandler.

Please please please someone direct me to a doctor who will listen and prescribe the amount of oxycodone my son needs. Pain management clinics are a joke and fall short of what we know will keep him comfortable until they can do the therapy or procedures that may be able to get him out of pain so he doesn't have to take it. He only needs 60 mg a day in 4 15 mg doses. That is what we've found works and makes it so he doesn't get sick from the meds and is out of the considerable pain he is in. He can't work because they won't give him enough to function. I have spent so much money I dont have to take care of him! He has Ahccs healthcare coverage! They only give him 3 10mg pills a day which falls short of the care he needs and is in so much pain. I am at my wits end! We...

I am a T7 paraplegic with severe spasticity and chronic pain due to a bullet in my spine. As of February I have been looking for a Dr that is compassionate and will take me on as a patient. I have been taking a 100mcg/hr fentanyl patch every 72 hours along with 30mg of oxycodone every 6 hours for the last 9 years. Actually it was reduced from a patch every 48 hours and 30mg of oxycodone every 4 hours 2.5 years ago. I left my last pain management Dr after a disagreement with his new Nurse Practitioner and no willingness to help or see me on his part. I am currently in desperate need of a new pain management Dr. My primary care physician chase managed my pain medication for the last 9 months and can not help for much longer as my retirements are beyond her scope of practice. I just moved to Phoenix, AZ and am looking for a new doc with compassion who can prescribe Xanax / Klonopin for anxiety and Percocet for back pain. Any help appreciated. Thanks ## Xanax contains Alprazolam and Klonopin contains Clonazepam, they are both Benzodiazepines, which treat the same conditions, so it is unlikely you will find a doctor that will prescribe both. In addition, many doctors will not want to handle pain treatment and the treatment for other conditions, such as anxiety, because they are not properly trained in handling both conditions. Have you had any luck yet? ## My dr prescribes me 67 8mg suboxone, 1mg klonopin 3x daily and 1mg Xanax for insomnia. ## Xanax is really not a sleeping drug or for insomnia. While the dosage seems acceptable, taking two drugs that are ver...

Hello. Even before Tramadol became a controlled substance I have found doctors are more reluctant to prescribe it and if they do are doling it out as if they were prescribing H. I know it is not for everyone, but it is my pain drug of choice and I've used it responsibly for years. I live in the East Valley region of Metro Phoenix in Arizona and I am looking for a decent doctor who won't be a hassle in terms of prescribing this medication or calling in refills to the pharmacy in between visits. If anyone could hook me up with a doctor who isn't afraid to prescribe like the old days, I'd gratefully appreciate it. ## II don't know why any Drs are afraid to prescribe it. It did fly under the radar for years as far as pain killers go and it was a lot easier to get prescri...

I'm new to phoenix and need a docter that will continue to write me the meds I have been prescribed for 4 years oxycodone and zanax dalid ## Due to the new regulations that have been put in place, if you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see specialists, a general practitioner will not be able to prescribe them for you. For you, that will likely also mean 2 specialist, one for pain management and the other a Psychiatrist for the Xanax. All of these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, irritability, constipation and dry mouth. It might be easiest to find yourself a new PCP and have them refer you to someone. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?
