If someone is being treated with fluvoxamine and are then diagnosed with graves disease could the fluvoxamine also be treating the graves disease? ## Hi Rhonda, Fluvoxamine is an antidepressant, so I don't think it will fully treat an autoimmune disorder like Graves Disease. It may however be beneficial for treating certain symptoms associated with Graves Disease, such as anxiety and other things relating to hyperthyroidism. I know when I asked my doctor for help he wasn't able to give me things like pain management could. Hi I just moved from Washington State to Portland,Oregon. I am on SSDI for back injury,3 bulging disks and massive arthritus in neck, and 3 in thoratic back, and for Degenerative disk disease.I was going to a pain management center-referred to them by my regular doc,& they had me taking Norco-Vicodin 30 mgs a day. When I came to Portland,OR the doc that I'm seeing now said she's going to "wean me off" of pain meds, that I need to be able to function doing just everyday living things like showering, walking the dog, ect. I asked her then what? After I'm completely off them, she said well U could try PT but U said that hasn't worked in the past-which it didn't the PT I went to actually sent me home saying it was making condition worse/more pain. Just moved to Oklahoma City, OK. and need a pain medicine doctor to prescribe Percocet, Gabapentin, and Valium, which I have taken for three years due to pain from herniated discs, facet disease and spinal stenosis. Urgently need a doctor which accepts cash payments/self-pay until my insurance kicks in six months from now. Thanks in advance for all replies, I appreciate any information you can give me. ## Well, I don't think anyone is going to be able to recommend a doctor and guarantee they'll prescribe those specific medications. The best thing you can do is set up an appointment with a new doctor and make sure that they get a full copy of your medical records, so they can see what has and hasn't worked for you in the past, as documented by a fellow physician. And it is hi...

I STUPIDLY HAD A BOWL OF METHAMPHETAMINE AFTER 8 YRS CLEAN FROM THAT HORRIBLE STUFF. LOL. IT'S BEEN ALMOST 10HRS SINCE.. BUT I'M IN SO MUCH PAIN N AIN'T SLEPT N 48 HOURS.. GETTING PSYCHOSIS LOL.. CAN I TAKE MY REGULAR DOSE MEDS FOR PAIN NOW TO TRY N REST? ..PLZ ANY THOUGHTS... #ASHAMEDOFMAKINGTHATDECISION ## Was there a specific medication in particular that you were planning on taking after the methamphetamine wore off? I only ask because you would actually need to check and see if methamphetamine poses any serious risks with whatever it is that you might be considering. Some things like Oxycodone, could actually be very dangerous when mixed, but without any name to go off of I really can't help you past that point, since drug interaction checkers also require you to be...

Hi, my name is Scott. I've been on roughly 180-240mgs of 30mg roxicodone for going on six yrs now. Several yrs back I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and as time went by things got a lot worse. Well about a yr ago I went in for a doc visit and my doc told me he was retiring. And due to the past, my drug panels have shown up positive for thc. So there wasn't another doctor around that would prescribe me pain meds again. My doc gave me one last script to "so called" wean myself off of them. And I asked him how long it would take for the w.d. to go away? He said at that point oh a couple days and everything will be fine again. Boy was he dead wrong! It's been actually around a yr since he has prescribed them to me and since then like I said earlier I was ta...

I just recently visit pain managment doctor and he put me on some medication that I have been on in the past roxycodone, methadone for the break thru pain i still am in so much pain is there something new out there to try the pain is intolerable.I'm on medicaid and was told medicaid dont cover certain things can someone here in florida please advice me what to do since Ia'm new here from Alaska ## There really is nothing new as far as narcotic pain medications, you are on pretty much the strongest available with the Oxycodone in the Roxicodone. The Methadone is also very strong. And yes, it is also true that Medicaid does not cover some medications, such as the time released Oxycodone, due to the problems with abuse and diversion of it. It really sounds like your doctor is presc...

I am using eptoin 300mg for past 9 months and some times in between i skip taking the medicine. Earlier for few months, every thing was fine, but now a days i am feeling the dizziness full day and some body pains. Because of this, my eyes remain swelled for the full day. My question is, is it because of some side-effect or because i am skipping the medicine.

Sometimes I have pain in one part my head and it increases to be chronic and after sometime it affects my eyes also. It remains the same till I wake up in the morning. This happens regularily every 2-3 weeks and sometimes after 1 month also. Since past 3-4 days I have pain in left part of my upper back also. Are these both related. I have already consulted opthalmologist 2-3 times thinking that headache might be because of eye weakness. Please tell me which kind of doctor should I consult? ## I think you were doing the right thing by consulting an opthalmologist first, considering the location of your pain. I have a hunch that it may be nerve related since you're experiencing back pain as well, but please don't take this as definitive information, as I am not a doctor. You may w...

Hi... my husband has been addicted to pain pills off and on for the past 5 years, with things getting really out of hand the past year. Almost 2 weeks ago he went to detox and rehab. He AMA'ed out of rehab 3 days ago because he said he couldn't take it. He is willing try something to help him control his cravings. I've done some reading on Naltrexone and was wondering how well it works and if anyone knows of a doctor in the Houston area that prescribes it? Right now he needs all the help that he can get. Thank you! =) ## Hi, I was hooked on pills and opiates for 5 years. Heavy user. Tried to quit many times. Plus two state run detox. Failed them all. I know everyone gets really sick. I have loose motion from past 2 months, daily 2-3 times and have bubble sound in stomach, i got colonoscopy done but there was not problem, what is the problem? ## What has your doctor advised? Have you changed anything in your diet, either the food you're eating, or beverages? The bubbles sound like they may be due to gas, but there are many things that could be causing the diarrhea. You may want to try keeping a food diary for a few weeks, writing down everything you eat and drink, then when the problems occur. For the past 3 days I've been feeling bad. Started with a sore throat then it was my ear, then it was being being super tired. I wasn't sure what it was bc I been feeling some slight chills as well. There has been a major change of weather so I was thinking that this could all be sinus related. The only thing that seemed to really work was a super hot shower... afterwards I felt perfect but hours later I feel bad again

I'm having difficulty finding a good doctor who doesn't scrutinize or is skeptical to patients for wanting pain meds, Norco 10/325's for pain is what I have been prescribed in the past for my medical condition. Please Help if you can refer me to a good doctor who listens and understands the patients! Thank You! M ## Hi, Eme! Sorry about the problem you're having and that you're in pain. No one should have to suffer. However, doctors have no choice but to be skeptical and scrutinize. If they don't and their prescribing practices are found to be questionable, they risk losing their license to practice medicine. The best thing you can do is to set up an appointment with a new doctor and then make sure that they receive a full copy of your current medical records. If...

Is narcotic pain medicine becoming a thing of the past? Why are doctors across America phasing out the practice of prescribing effective pain medication? Will big pharmaceutical companies ever truly understand what it's like to face the other side of the coin? Lately there's been a musty scent in the air surrounding the use of prescribed narcotic pain medication. Many doctors appear to be running scared as the DEA scours through fields of medical records, inspecting prescribing pads like a mouse scavenges for food in a dimly lit cellar. Should the day come when doctors recommend Ibuprofen to a feeble man who's been involved in a terrible car accident (breaking several bones / requiring extensive surgery), is this doctor at risk of malpractice when there are more effective op...

Last month my cycle was thrown completely off, I started AF exactly one week before it was due and it lasted nearly 10 days. I went to the doctor and I got blood work done and a vaginal ultrasound. Everything was ok, except that the lining of my uterus was super thin. She prescribed me Prometrium to take daily before bed time. The first day or so wasn't bad. I am now on day 9 of taking this medication and I'm curious about a few things. First, I know that Prometrium can cause bloating and cramping, but I'm getting very sharp pains when I have to urinate or go number 2. Also, when I try to eat, even after eating one bite I get sharp stomach pains... Eating is almost like torture the past couple of days. IFollowing my quadruple bypass I continued to take Oxycodone for the past 18 months. Is it ok to stop taking it or are there withdrawl dangers involved? Please note I entered my wrong email adress on my previous question. This is the correct one. ## The question here is what is the strength and how often a day are you taking Oxycodone? I am not a physician but I am in the medical field and do deal with medication on a daily basic. My advise is to talk with you physician regarding this. There is a possibility having taken this drug for 18 months, that you may experience some withdrawl. The other thing is if you are truly in severe pain (because this is the only reason you should be taking this medication). Then you probably still need it. However this drug is highly additive, and often ti...

I have been taking NSAIDS for the past 21 years. The last 10 years it has been Meloxicam 15mg/day. Over the past 7 years I have steadily become allergic to many things. I am now severly allergic to corn, soy, wheat, nuts and mold. My Asthma is now severe. The Meloxicam was no longer able to control the pain from my arthritis so a year ago out of desperation I went gluten free and found that my Arthritis was so much better but I was still going into anaphylactic shock over things I was eating that I had never had a reaction to when I was younger.
