I was prescribed Ozempic for weight loss. 12 hours after taking the first dose, the fatigue and brain fog I’ve struggled with for years was greatly improved. This leaves me wondering if I may have pre-diabetes or even the beginning of Type II. Can anyone advise if having such a positive response to Ozempic could be a sign of this condition? ## I am pre-diabetic. My doctor tried to prescribe me I was Ozempic but insurance wouldn't allow it. I am on Medicaid and as with most things they'd rather wait until there's a problem then be proactive. It sounds like you had good results and so I am encouraged and if I do become diabetic it will be a big help. It's so hard to lose weight with chronic pain. Take care of yourself. Sounds like you are! ## It is possible, but only...

I started Ozempic in October 2021. I was 209 pounds. I am now 134 pounds. I first started taking Ozempic .25 mg for 3 weeks. I really didn’t lose that much weight and no s/e. I was still a little hungry then I was increased to .50 mg. My appetite started to decrease, and I did that for 3 weeks. Then I started the regular dose of 1 mg, my appetite definitely decreased. I started doing portion control. Eat 1/2 wait 20 min. I never wanted more. I always say to myself: you can eat anything .. just eat small amount .. wait 20 min .. still hungry .. you eat .. not you don’t. I never did. There are many times I had no or little appetite. I also learned you better eat because I passed out twice low blood sugar (I’m not Diabetic; I just needed to eat). I always drink a lot of w...

Has anyone been on Victoza (Liraglutide) for weight loss without success then switched to Ozempic? ## Unfortunately, since we are all different, not every medication works for everyone that tries it, and when that happens, you usually need to try a different medication. When will you be starting the Ozempic? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including administration site reactions, abdominal pain, constipation, nausea, and anorexia. I have been on Victoza but my new Endocrinologist is wanting me to switch to Ozempic. However, I have diabetic retinopathy and one of the side effects listed for Ozempic is possible worsening of that condition. Anyhow, I am just wondering if anyone else has switched from Victoza to Ozempic and had any results to share? Also, if anyone knows any updates on the correlation between Ozempic and diabetic retinopathy, I'd be really eager to hear them. Thanks!

I just started Ozempic this week and have been tired in the afternoon causing me to fall asleep for about an hour. I never napped before. Anyone else have this issue? ## The FDA does report that fatigue is a side effect reported in about 11% of people taking it, which is a fairly high percentage, so it is considered a very common side effect, other side effects may include administration site reaction, headache, hypotension, and hair loss. Ref: Ozempic Information Is there anything else I can help with? ## I also have had a nap on afternoon since taking it which has never happened before, I just hope that it settles after a few months

Has anyone developed a sweet tooth while on Ozempic? I fear I have. Also cravings for salty food have increased. I have been Ozempic three months and have loss 15 pounds. ## Usually, Ozempic helps prevent cravings, but some medications have been known to cause unexpected side effects in some people that take them. The FDA lists the other typical side effects of Ozempic as possibly including nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, weight loss, and fatigue. Ref: Ozempic Information Have you consulted your doctor? Are you on any other medications? ## The cravings have gone away. When I started Ozempic, I had recently recovered from Covid. I think Covid dulled my taste buds. So the sharpened taste and cravings may have come from recovering from Covid and being able to taste food again. It may h...

Hi. Has anyone experienced nerve pain with Ozempic? I noticed last week that I was having nerve pain in my cheek, which is not unusual for me as I have neuralgia after suffering an aneurysm. However, now it's spread to my ears, both sides of my face and into my neck. If anyone has had nerve issues, do they go away after stopping the use of Ozempic? ## I took Wegovy for 5 weeks and stopped because it was causing constipation. Now 2 months after stopping I feel like I’m getting pings in my abdomen- maybe nerve pain. I have to take miralax to help me go to the bathroom. I’m feeling these drugs are not all they are cracked up to be. Going for bloodwork and sonogram to investigate. Anyone else having side effects with Wegovy? ## Mirella, have you consulted your doctor? Since ...

After seven weeks on Ozempic the skin on my upper back and sides have become very sensitive to the touch, like a sunburn but no redness. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm on my third week of the .5 dose. No weight loss yet. ## Hello, Christi! How are you doing? Has there been any change? I suggest contacting your doctor to be safe, since there is a warning about Ozempic potentially causing some serious side effects involving pain in the stomach, side, and abdomen. The FDA lists other side effects as possibly including anxiety, headache, constipation, rapid heart rate, and increased hunger. Ref: Ozempic Information ## Yes! This is common now that I am researching it more. Check out other forums. It’s there. Not sure if dose dependent ## My upper back especially feels awful,...

I just started .5 Ozempic and I have no appetite. I also have no energy. Having a hard time focusing. Is this common at the start? ## This is from Medline Plus: "Semaglutide injection is in a class of medications called incretin mimetics. It works by helping the pancreas to release the right amount of insulin when blood sugar levels are high. Insulin helps move sugar from the blood into other body tissues where it is used for energy. Semaglutide injection also works by slowing the movement of food through the stomach and may decrease appetite and cause weight loss." The appetite loss seems like a typical thing but I would check with your doc about the fatigue. It could be your body adjusting, especially if you're not digesting food at a normal rate. ## I have been on Ozempic...

Hey all. I was recently prescribed Ozempic by my doctor and insurance is refusing to cover it. I am going to Cancun next month on a company trip and want to pick up a year's supply. I am finding conflicting information on whether a written prescription is required or not. Anyone know?
