I have disc issues from L1 to L5 and I was on Oxycodone for 1 1/2 years starting at 5/325 4x's a day and ended @ 30mg 6x's aday so I decided to get off the Oxycodone with Suboxone, started @ 8mg Suboxone 2x's a day then tapered to .25.g Suboxone 1x a day over a 5 mos period, here's the problem in the 5 mos period since I wasn't on pain meds my pain came back full force and I started taking the Oxycodone 10mg 6x's a day for the last week, so I wanted to know if I was to stop taking the Oxycodone would I still go into withdrawal as though I had never stopped, the proiblem is in the last 5 months I lost my job and Medical insurance and I can't afford the Suboxones (oxycodone is a lot cheaper when prescribed than Suboxone ) I need an operation so in the mean whil...

How long after taking 30mg oxycodone should you start to take suboxone? ## Hi Willis, u should wait until u r having withdrawal symptoms, b 4 u start the suboxone. It won't work and can make u feel sick if you don't wait. U don't have 2 b in a ball crawled up 2 wait. But, once u start feeling those withdrawals, u will know its time. ## Yes,Cats right. You gotta be in wds before you take the sub. If you take it too soon you chance whats called precipitated withdrawalls. You DON,T want that to happen. To be safe wait 16-18hrs. ## Hi Jolter, how r u doing, I'm fine. Just tired all the time. Think it's the subs and other meds I take. ## You only need to go into withdrawals then take one Suboxone. Take a second Suboxone the next day and never take anymore. This will get y...

Hello, I have been taking Suboxone for approximately 3 weeks. I was taking opiates, legally, for four+ years but recently I had problems after surgery by increasing my dosages and eventually running out quite often which lead all my doctors to a rehab place. I went through 3 weeks of Intensive Outpatient Treatment which was complete crap but it kept me busy during the morning. I now have an Rx from my PCP who KNOWS about me being on Suboxone and said to stop the Suboxone for a couple/few days and then start the Oxy's. Here's my question: Can I fill the Rx for OxyIR when I'm going to be picking up my most recent Rx of Suboxone tomorrow? I feel like the pharmacy might be thinking it's Doctor Shopping but if they call my PCP, he knows about the Suboxone use. He desperately ...

I've only been taking subs for the last 2 days roughly at maybe 8-10mg for those couple of days. How long should I wait until I take oxycodone to make sure the effects actually work. I have no other history with suboxone and the last time I took any oxycodone was a little over 2 weeks ago. I would say my metabolism is above average. However, I just don't want to waste the 15mg of oxycodone that I do have. Also, do i have any risk of randomly having withdrawals from the oxycodone after taking it this one time? ## Also, I forgot to mention that it has been almost 2 days since the last dose of suboxone(which was about 3mg). ## I'd like to know the answer to this as well as most cases have people who have been on sub for years. ## Finally the question I need answerd... and no an...

I can’t seem to find an answer. If oxycodone now has naloxone in it so that there isn’t an euphoric high, isn’t that the same as the Suboxone? Suboxone has naloxone in it but it must also have the narcotic also, otherwise how would it keep people from going into full blown withdrawals? The new pain pills are the SAME EXACT thing, they stop the withdrawals but do nothing for the pain? So aren’t we as the consumer/patient being misinformed as to the true nature of the new formulated pain pills? I’m in pain but oh thank you I still have narcotics in my blood. Naloxone stomps on the opioid, so what’s the sense??? Wouldn’t it be better to know the truth? Oh and by the way, UFOs exist lol. Loooking for the truth. ## Big Red Balloon, From what I can re...

I ran out of my oxycodone pills and I took some suboxone for about a week and a half so that I would not get withdrawl symptoms. About a week later I started back on oxy but it was the new pills which I did not like so I went back to the Oxy 30's. Now that I am taking them, I feel nothing anymore. No Euphoria, no pain release, no high, nothing. Could you tell my why this is happening? I know I have built up a toloarance because I am able to take 5-6 pills at one time and I still feel nothing. Any advice on how to get back to the day one feeling? Total relaxation and euphoria and most important PAIN FREE!!!! ## Suboxone contains a combination of the narcotic Buprenorphine and Naloxone, the naloxone is used to neutralize other narcotics and prevent their abuse, while someone is under ...

Need to talk to someone very bad. I've been taking methadone for 20 years, in May I started winging myself down. I got to 5 to 10 milligrams then ran out so I started taking 5 milligram oxycodone. I have a few 2 milligram and 8 milligram suboxone. When can I take them? Living in Mountain Home, Arkansas is there any Doctor I can go to that prescribes? I have been shot and have a lot of nerve damage. Also I have not been through serious withdrawal. I think I've been on methadone so long that it has covered my receptors and it is not leaving my body. NEED HELP ## You have to be in full withdrawal, before you can take Suboxone, unless your doctor has instructed otherwise. Taking it before then could cause you to go into dangerous precipitated withdrawal. If you want to check for a d...

I had back surgery and was taking 15mg of Oxycodone and I took 8mg of suboxone for 3 days thinking I would be ok but my back is in so much pain. How long before I can take my medication again? ## Wait 24 - 48 hours. 36-48 hrs is recommended. ## My Suboxone is not covered by UnitedHealthcare community plan wanted to know what would I be put on next for chronic pain besides any other opiates ## I have the same health care and got approved. Your doctor has to have a one on one with the health insurance doctor and if it's in ur benefit then this health care will approve for a short time. My first approval was only 3 months then my second 6 months and at tell end of this 6, going to ask for another approval. As long as you are following protocol and guide lines, (u have to go to out pati...

I took my last Oxycodone on Saturday. I've been taking 30 mg for 5 years. How long would withdrawals last if I take tiny pieces of 8 mg Suboxone? How long will I need to do this so that I don't get sick? Thanks ## I have a great deal of experience with induction phase of subs. If you are on Subutex you can start as soon as you feel a little sick. But make sure you have gone at least 24 to 36 hours. Since there is no Naloxone in Subutex it is not like subuxone, Start with a small piece of sub try that and see if you get relief. If you are ok take a little more until you feel straight. Subutex is alot easier to get on then subuxone so make sure you are really sick or you will go through Precipitative Withdrawal Or Hell as I like to call it. Remember, less is more and the oxys will...

Hi everyone I'm a 25 year old male and have been taking 2-3 30 mg Oxycodone pills a day for the last 3 years. I get w/d after 1 full day with no pills but I 100% percent want to be done for good. I was fortunate enough to obtain 3 8mg Suboxone film strips. I know everyone varies but can anyone give any helpful advice to get me off the Oxys with just these 3 Subs? I don't think ill be able to get more from the person and I don't want to pay all the money for doc visits and a script. Please help, I know I'm ready to be done and get back to my old self. BTW I'm 5'11 and 185 lbs if that helps with the advice of how much to take. Thank you for your time ## Suboxone is not meant to be used with such a mild habit, where you're really just dependent on the medication...

How Long Do I Have To Wait Take Suboxone after taking 10mg oxycodone so i dont go into precipitated withdrawals? ## You have to be in full withdrawal from all other opiates, before you can safely take Suboxone. Learn more Suboxone details here. The precise time that happens can vary from person to person, depending on their own body, how much of the given drug(s) they were taking and other factors. It's a very fine line, because taking it too soon can throw you into withdrawals, but you have to be full in them, before it's safe. Are there any other questions or comments? ## how long does it take oxycodone to be metabolized by the body after taking 10 mgs one time. ## I'm taking suboxone can I take a 15 mg of morphine I took it befor the sub and only asking because I still ne...

Made a mistake and swallowed an 8mg suboxone pill (thought it was my woman's vitamin) with my 30mg oxycodone at the same time! OMG, what is going to happen to me!? ## Hello, Becky! How are you? Wow! I am sorry about what happened and I understand your concern. The main issue here, according to the FDA, is the fact that the Suboxone could cause you to go into dangerous precipitated withdrawals, which could include fever, chills, sweating, rebound pain, and seizures. How are you doing? Did you experience any adverse effects? The Suboxone could also prevent your Oxycodone from working for about 3 days. ## Will not effect you in any way,,IV done it a thousand times,,,but it will prevent the OXY, from working well,,hope this helped

I'm currently on 24 mg of Suboxone after asking my doctor to switch from 50 mg of oxycodone to suboxone. It's just not working for the pain like it did at first. I'm in so much pain all day! She said she would switch me back to oxycodone at 60 mg a day since this isn't working well for me anymore. I've had people tell me that Suboxone is much stronger and that 60 mg wouldn't even be enough. Does anyone have any knowledge on this? ## Suboxone and methadone are two entirely different drugs that do two entirely different things. Suboxone is not for pain management Suboxone is to get people off of opiates for their withdrawal and it’s an agonist antagonistic which means it goes to the dopamine receptors in your brain and turns on the signal that you’re ge...

I was on oxycodone and morphine for 11 years. I am now on suboxone 12mg a day for three months now. I don't want to continue to be on them because the oxy's and morphs helped pain more. not to mention the side effefts of the suboxone sucks. I want to know if I will get sick if I simply stop subs and start back on 4 30 mg of oxycodone and 2 30 mg morphs?! HELP ME PLEASE ## Hello, Leigh! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. Suboxone actually contains the narcotic Buprenorphine coupled with Naloxone, which is used to neutralize other opiates, to prevent their abuse, while someone is being treated with it. Thus, if you took the others, while still under the effects of it, it will negate them and you'd just be wasting medications. This is a narcotic analgesic,...

I have been addicted to roxicodone for a few years now. Are there any alternatives for getting off them? ## Hello, Luis! How are you? Methadone and Suboxone are both treatment options for drug addiction. The FDA classifies these medication as opiates that are most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Suboxone is usually the preferred choice, now, since it enables most people to become completely drug free. You can search for a doctor that treats with it in your area by using the zip code search on the website at Suboxone.com click here. Does anyone else have any ideas or advice to offer?

I am on pain management and take oxycodone 10s and 30s i took a suboxone 8 for 2 days and ran out how long am i gonna start to crash before i can take some methadone pills friend gave to me to hold me till my next script refill ...out of meds is my problem! had a ruff month and took more then i had to! ## Hello, CtJake! How are you doing? All of the medications you've mentioned carry the risk of being habit forming, since they are all narcotics, so you really need to be careful about taking more than prescribed and then adding in others that haven't been prescribed for you. I also do not have an answer for you on when you can take the Methadone, generally the doctors that prescribe Suboxone have been specially trained in its use and would advise someone on that. The calculations...

I have taken 8mg orange suboxone tablet over the course of 3 days. I regularly take hydrocodone for chronic pain and a torn labrum in my hip. My last dose of suboxone was at 9am this morning, can I take hydrocodone tomorrow afternoon? Will it help my pain? I'm showing slight wd symptoms so far but mostly wondering about my hip pain. ## i am wondering the same thing. I'm stopping the 8 mg subs and my sub doc gave me a script for 3 20mg oxycontin and 3 15mg of oxycodone and said i shouldn't have any withdrawal. I'm afraid, but the subs have totally zapped me. Good luck! ## Hi I took a 8mg sub yesterday morning then I took percocet this afternoon. How soon can I take another sub? I have both the pills and script which is better to use! ## It's been 42 hours since my las...

Question? I have been on oxy 30's for almost two years now. My body has built up a tolerance to it now. I used to look forward to taking it because it gave me the euphoric feeling and I was "happy" after taking it. Now my tolerance level is at taking 5 pills or 150mg. What can I do to get my tolerance down. I also have this med called suboxone which I take when I run out. I am thinking of stopping the meds altogether. I must say that I feel better off the oxys. I am not addicted to it but if I continue I could be. The only thing that keeps me from it is I am scared to die so I won't do anything for the euphoria. However, after taking the suboxone, I always feel better. It also provides a euphoric feeling that is great and it works great for the withdrawal symptoms. So I ...

I AM ON 24MG OF SUBUTEX FOR MONTHS NOW AND 3 10MG OF OXYCODONE FOR CHRONIC PAIN. RECENTLY MY DOCTOR RETIRED AND BEFORE HE LEFT HE TOOK ME OFF OF ALL OXYCODONE. I STILL HAVE PAIN THAT THE SUBUTEX DOSEN'T TOUCH. WHAT SHOULD I DO? I AM 64 YEARS OLD AND CAN'T FINANCIALLY QUIT MY JOB BUT I MISS WORK ALOT. MY JOB IS VERY HARD WORK ## Hello, Fran! How are you? Subutex only contains Buprenorphine, not the opiate blocker Naloxone that is in Suboxone, so you can take other opiates, after taking it, as long as your doctor approves. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you spoken to your new doctor about your pain? They may n...

I was taking oxycodone about 90 mg a day and ran out. A friend gave me 3 fentanyl 50mg patches which I use for 5 days, I've been clean now for 54 hrs. Have had sweats and chills some leg cramps and restlessness. As well as diarrhea. About an hour ago I took apprx 1mg suboxone. I am very fearful of precipitated withdrawals. I feel no difference yet. Is it safe to take more suboxone? ## Hello, Storm! How are you? What did you end up doing? Before taking Suboxone, you need to be in full withdrawal from everything else, otherwise there is the risk of experiencing the dangerous precipitated withdrawals. Thus, you may have been taking it a bit too soon. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit f...
