Trying to learn about a new drug I am on ( oxycodone 5mg imm ref capsules ) So far I have not found anything about it . Just these questions. Perhaps I will be have better luck someplace else. Thank you, Jeanie ## Hi Jeanie, The medication which you are asking about is the 'immediate release' dosage of Oxycodone. There are many discussions going on around here about this drug. This is a potent narcotic pain killer and is potentially addictive for the body. Do you think you will be taking it for very long? Hopefully you have a good doctor that will help to wean you off slowly when the time comes. You can read more about this medication on the page for . oxycodone 5mg capsules vs tablets

I was prescribed oxycodone 5 mg capsules (immediate release). The pharmacy only had the tablets. My question is, are they the same strength? ## Yes, it will just take a little bit longer for the medication to enter your blood stream and start working. Usually, about 15 to 20 minutes. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

30 mg oxycodone in red and white capsule with no marking ## Are there 30 milligram oxycodone that come in red and white capsules? ## To my knowledge, the answer to your question is no. The closest match I've been able to locate is a red and white capsule containing 5 mg of Oxycodone plus 500mg of Acetaminophen. Perhaps this is the pill that you're describing? Manufacturer: Teva Pharmaceuticals USA National Drug Code (NDC): 00555-0658 Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns regarding this pill! ## The only way that this dosage in unmarked capsules would be legal in the U.S. would be if they were specially ordered by a doctor and put together by a compounding pharmacy. And since there are tablets readily available in doses higher than the current 5mg capsule on the ... ...

I think i took a white oblong capsule i was told it was outdone instant relief 5mg. I can't remember the exact numbers on them. I know it started with a 0 and had the number 4 in it. I have taken oxycodone before but never seen it in a capsuse before can u please tell me if it was actually oxycodone ## There's definitely not a medication by the name of "outdone", at least here in the U.S. It sounds like they could've also said Oxycontin, which is an extended release version of Oxycodone. But just to confirm, there are in fact Oxycodone (immediate release) capsules. I've seen a 5mg capsule from Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. This one happens to be brown/yellow in color and imprinted with "0554 M 5 mg". You mentioned that the pill started with a "0" ... ...

I have been on Oxycodone 5mg, up to 3x's a day, but I only have taken 2 caps daily. I have had many back surgeries, fought cancer, struggling with Fibro and now docs say I might have Parkinson's... I did manage to order liquid, but it caused More pain.. Can anyone help explain why?? Thank you...I just don't understand.. ## Here in FL, our Walgreens is a co-op, so I took my script to K-Mart and I will have it by mid of week.. So glad I did.. I am about done with Walgreens...ugh ## I'm sorry that you were having trouble getting your medication. However, back order is usually just due to demand exceeding the supply. I'm taking 1 tablet by mouth twice a day of Carvedilol 3.125 mg. and lisinopril 2.5 mg 1 tablet by mouth every day. Is possible take oxicodone 5 mg imm rel capsules for pain? Thanks ## Yes! I was on the Carvedilol and Lisinopril, when I ended up in the emergency room for an attack of gastritis and the doctor prescribed me a few days worth of 5mg Oxycodone to help the pain. The only thing you have to watch for is that narcotics, such as Oxycodone, can also lower your blood pressure, so taking it with the other medications can sometimes result in it dropping too low. Therefore, you should be monitored or monitor it yourself, while using these medications together. Are there any questions or comments? ...

would like to know what is written on oxycodone 5mg. capsule and SEE one ## They don't make the capsules anymore, but they did work really good. ## Hello, Evie! How are you? Yes, the capsules are still made, they are the only instant release formulation available. For example, there is one that is white and yellow, with the marking LV 901 and another that is brown and yellow, with the marking 0554 M 5mg. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Part of the FDA's war on drugs. The only war is being waged on chronic pain sufferers. ## I agree with the effectiveness of OXIR - I was never told that it was not available, but instead the tablet was a substitution. I need to know how much acetomenaphine sp?) is in this capsule (or other similiar OTC). ## Oxycodone tablets do not contain Acetaminophen. I think you are referring to Percocet, which contains both. Is there any sort of imprint on your capsule? U.S. law requires that all prescription drugs have unique letters or numbers (sometimes in addition to a logo) imprinted on the tablets or capsules so the medication can be identified by manufacturer, substance and dosage. These tablets are manufactured by Zydus Pharmaceuticals and they list them as being regular release tablets, so they begin to work about 15 to 20 minutes after you take them. The OxyIR is only available in 5mg capsules. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Has anybody ever seen a small plain yellow 15mg oxy without any imprint on either side? ## Hello, Kiki! How are you? No! The only capsules of Oxycodone that are available in the U.S. have markings on them and contain 5mgs. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Oxycodone or Oxycontin is this time released? Or immediate release? ## There are no generic formulations available of Oxycontin, there are only generics available of the instant release and the regular release. Additionally, the instant release is only available in 5mg capsules. Thus, if you have a tablet that does not have the OP marking and it is from the U.S., then it is fairly safe to assume that's most likely a regular release tablet. This one is a generic for Roxicodone, which is a name brand for the regular release formulation and it contains 20mgs of Oxycodone. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Where did you find it? ## Verwon, I was reading your response to Kiki, and I have a question for you. What is the difference between Oxycodone and Oxycotin? ## Hi Susie, I sort of st... ...

Supposed to b oxycontin?? 20 mg. its a purplr/gray capsule with = = on it,what is it? ## Oxycontin is a time released formulation of Oxycodone and it's only available as a tablet. The only one available in a capsule is a 5mg instant release and it doesn't meet this description or have that type of logo on it. Where did you get it? Who told you it was Oxycontin? Based on your description, I am more prone to believe that it's an over the counter product, of some type. Does anyone else recognize this capsule? ## just a friend said that, she is the one trying to find out ,but i have hunted all over the internet and can't even find any kind of anything matching it it,it's about the size of a tylenol capsule,a dark purple(maybe dark, dark blue) on one side and the other is g... ...

These capsules had no markings to speak of, did you find this to be true as well? ## And to clear this up, in the U.S. there is one dosage of Oxycodone available in a capsule and it is 5mgs, they all also have markings on them. The only other dosages of it that are available in the U.S. are in tablet form, the regular release and the time released Oxycontin. You can learn more Oxycodone details here. Is 20 mg oxycodone time release or not and how can I tell ## If you're prescribed it, there will be an ER on the bottle, what color is the pill and are there any #'s on it? ## The only time released Oxycodone available in the U.S. is the brand name Oxycontin, which has either an OC or an OP on the tablet and would have a 20 on the other and is pink. If that is not what you have, then you have a regular release formulation that is a generic for Roxicodone. Here's a link to learn more Oxycodone details for anyone that may need it.
