I took a percocet 10-325 at 9 pm it's now 12:45 am and was wondering if I had to wait full 6 hours or can I take another ## Hello, Crystal! How are you? The Oxycodone in Percocet can be habit forming and, if you take it more frequently than as prescribed, you also run the risk of overdose, especially due to the Acetaminophen in it. Thus, it would be best to not change your dosing frequency, without your doctor's approval. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic that may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm having terrible pain with kidney stones. I have melanoma cancer and a horrific case of shingles. I have been prescribed oxycodone 10/325 1 every four hours. In addition I am treated at the spine and pain center for spinal stenous and osteoporosis. I need to try same dosage every three hours to control my pain because I really struggle that fourth hour with lots of pain. Would that cause a problem? I am male in my middle 70's. ## It would be best not to adjust your dosage, without your doctor's approval. It could create the risk of overdose and/or you may run out early, which may make your doctor think you have an addiction problem, so they might stop prescribing. Hi, I've never looked for help on the internet regarding my medication, but I'm at a loss. I'm a 46-year-old, healthy, strong and fit female. Three years ago I was pushed from the top of a 4-story building, falling 80 feet. Subsequently, I still suffer from severe, chronic back pain. I take Oxycodone 10/325 every 4 to 6 hours to help manage my pain. When I last filled my prescription, 3 days ago, I noted that I am getting zero relief. I never take more than one pill in a four hour period. But that first day I took 4 pills within 6 hours and still didn't have relief. I called the pharmacy to see if the manufacturer had changed and she informed me that it had not. In fact I looked at the pills and they looked identical to the pills I got the month before. I don't think...

I take 60mg of Morphine 3x daily + 10/325 mg Oxycodone/Acetaminophen daily. My cancer is getting worse. Any ideas? ## Hello, Chuck! How are you feeling? I'm very sorry that your cancer isn't improving. Many cancer patients end up requiring a very potent narcotic, such as Fentanyl. It's available in a patch that you wear on your skin and change every 48 to 72 hours, so that may be something to discuss with your doctor. It was actually specifically created to help cancer patients. The FDA classifies this as a This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does anyone else have any suggestions? ## I am so sorry you are suffering from cancer! My father went f...

My Dr, has me taking percocet every 4 hours it doens't help that much I have arthritis had 2 hip replacements but still have so much pain. I see my Dr. next week just wanted a second opinion. Thank you kindly. Jeanne ## This tablet contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen and if you're taking them every 4 hours, then you are taking 60mgs of the Oxycodone and 1,950 of the Acetaminophen in a day, which isn't necessarily a dangerous dosage of either one. What you really have to watch for is the effects it has on you and if it seems to be too much for you. Monitor your side effects, which may include: nausea, dizziness, constipation and drowsiness and if they are very severe, then you'll know if this amount is too much for you to take. Are there any other ques...

I HAVE OA AND need both knees and right hip replaced, I also have bone infarcts in both legs and in 2003 had a car accident that broke my neck c5,c6 &c7 along with damaging L5 -S1 disc herniation effacing the right S1 nerve root. my sciatic nerve is pinched and the pain is indescribable. I tore my ACL,PCL & MCL in my left knee in 2008 and had surgery to repair it. in October of 2013 I tore my PCL,MCL,ACL & LCL in my right knee the doctors did not repair any of this.i was on 1 - 2 10- 325 oxycodone acetaminophen every 6 hours for approximately 3 years and it did a decent job controlling my pain and all of a sudden in the beginning of November my doctor cut my dose in half without telling me why.. unfortunately it wasn't making my pain tolerable and when I asked her why sh...

Running out of the 5mg oxycodone the Dr. prescribed me 15mg every 3 hours. Now I do have 10/325mg percocet for my damaged back and the 15mg oxycodone was for my urinary tract relocation surgery which I had less than a week ago. My question is, can I take one 5mg oxycodone and one 10mg oxycodone with 325mg Tylenol to help with pain and not overdose? ## In general, that should be safe, but it depends on your overall health, other medications you may be taking, and etc. Have you contacted your doctor to ask what they feel you should do? The FDA warns that Oxycodone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Ref: Oxycodone Information

Amneal's oxycodone, generic for percocet 10/325 is white, oblong, blank on one side, and imprinted with IP 204 (not IP 203)! I usually take Watson or Mallinckrodt, 10/325, (2) tablets every 4-6 hours (240 monthly), but I was given Amneal today when filling my script, and I am not happy! I have cancer, and I also take morphine sulphate 30 mgs as well (1 every 12 hours), and Fioricet with Codeine for severe migraines (as needed)! I do not feel Amneal is sufficient or even close to the chemical makeup as Watson or Mallinckrodt for controlling pain/chronic pain! Amneal does not act the same way on my body, and I should not have to take more for same result! I think when you pay cash for your medications, and have been on the medication for 8 years, using the same pharmacy, they should o...

I have been taking oxycodone every six hours for almost two years for pinched nerves in my neck, arthritis, my lower back, tendinitis, rotator cuff in both arms and meralgia paresthetica in both thighs, but i find it's not really helping like i thought it would. The doctor says i probably need something stronger and maybe even see a pain management doctor but he cant prescribe anything stronger. ## There are higher doses of Oxycodone available without the Acetaminophen, but yes, you would most likely need to see a pain management specialist to see if they can prescribe it for you. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are you on any other medications?

The diazapam is twice a day, which is what most of my meds are.... Except the Oxycodone which is every four hours..... In addition to the above mentioned medications, I am also prescribed: Sertraline 150mg, hyoscyamine 0.375, buspirone 15 mg, ondansatron, zen pep and Omeprozole (sp?).... Are there any possible adverse interactions with taking this many pills daily (or with the types of medication taken)? ## Hello, Pebbles! How are you? The biggest concerns that have the potential to be dangerous are combining the Sertraline, Buspirone, Oxycodone and Ondansetron. All of these can have an effect on serotonin, which could result in your developing too much of it and suffering from serotonin syndrome, which risks being fatal. Additionally, both the Ondansetron and the Sertraline can increas...

I have been taking Hydrocodone 10/325 for chronic pain, 1 pill every 6 hours. My Dr. just prescribed Oxycodone 5/325 with up to 2 pills every 6 hours. Which is stronger? ## The oxy is stronger but who knows your body may b used 2 the vicoden. But if he is allowing u 2 take 2 @ a time it would b better if he would just give u the percocet 10/325 as it would b as effective with 1/2 the amount of aspirin. Try it out n post your feedback. ## Scott is correct, the Oxycodone is actually stronger than the Hydrocodone. To equal 10mgs of the Hydrocodone, you only need 6.67mgs of the Oxycodone, so I'd advise caution when you first take them, you probably shouldn't take 2 of them, until you try one and see how well it works for you. Are there any questions or comments? ## Thank you for the...

I ran 1 1/2 day short on my oxy IR and have left over hydro from dental surgery. And as far as the dose of loracet take as prescribed because to much Tylenol is very bad on your liver. I would look at it like this use your loracet as a get me by until u can fill ur oxycodone. No more 4000mgs of Tylenol in 24 hrs. ## @Dalejrfan, Although only a doctor can legally advise you on what/how much of something you should take, the general adult dosing guidelines for Norco usually recommend 1 tablet every 4-6 hours as needed for pain. I would just encourage you to contact your local pharmacist to verify dosing instructions first. I...

I was wondering how many 2.5 mg 325 oxycodone can I take at one time? I normally use 30-50mg a time each day to maintain my pain. ## Hi Connie, With regards to dosage, it's not really the oxycodone that I question, but rather the acetaminophen; depending on how many you intend on taking. The general dosing guidelines state that a recommended dose of acetaminophen is: 325 to 650 mg every 4 to 6 hours or 1000 mg every 6 to 8 hours. I suppose if you could manage your pain under those guidelines, then in my opinion you should be fine taking "5mg/650mg" every 4 to 6 hours to remain within safe limits. However, if you're used to taking 30-50mg of oxycodone, I doubt this combination would be nearly as potent. Are you just not able to get your scripts filled for those higher dos...

Hello. I take 1 pill every 6 hrs and I am still having a lot of pain in my elbows, in my back and hips. Should my Dr. up my dosage? ## Hello, Sharon! How are you? It is entirely up to your doctor. They could make your dosing more frequent, such as every 4 hours, or they could prescribe a higher dose of the Oxycodone by itself, they may also possibly prescribe an entirely different medication. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How severe is the pain? Have you informed your doctor, yet? ## The hydrocodone and oxycodone generics (what’s left that they DO make) are pure s***! May work a little for 30 mins but is 20% filler...

I am on both of these meds do to severe medical issues. I take 40 Mg of opana 4 x daily and 30 Mg of oxycodone 5 x daily as well as Nortriptyline 150 Mg twice daily and neurontin 600 Mg 3 x daily. Needless to say a few different stomach medication due to chronic nausea. Oh and also phenergan pills and injectable. My question is has anyone found anything other than multiple medications to relieve severe chronic pain. ## I also have severe medical problems and nothing works. For two years was on 3Mg iv dilaudid every three hours and 120 percocet 10/325 every month. Zofran for nausea. Is it ok to give her a 1/4 of the Percocet with ( 1 ) mg of oxycodone? ## Hello, Sue! How are you? It would be best not to, unless her doctor okays it, because there is also Oxycodone in the Percocet and you could risk overdosing her. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth a...

I am 80 years old and use oxycodone very sparingly for neuropathy. To help prevent possible dependency I usually take one 5mg oxycodone about four hours apart. I weigh 210 pounds and my prescription allows two 5mg pills every six hours, but that dose clouds my thinking even though it does manage pain better. I usually get by with taking one 5mg oxycodone pill no more than three times each day beginning from about 10am. Getting up each morning is the most difficult; If I take two 325mg Butalbital tablets upon arising I seem to get a little boost, so that I can function enough to get going without too much discomfort. I don't start taking Oxycodone until after breakfast, at least two to three hours after getting up. Only on a rare occasion, where I must be very active through the day ...

I had jaw surgery 10 days ago and for 4-5 days I've been taking oxycodone 5/325 because my incision opened and it is so unbearabley painful. Im Supposed To Take 1 to 2 5x325 Oxycodone every 4 hours. The Pharmasist for some reason Gave Me Hydrocodone 5/325 ...How Many Hydrocone 5/325 Equal 2 5/325 of oxycodone. SAVE ME PLEASE ## Hi, Lindsey, how are you doing? If your pharmacy gave you the wrong medication, you should really go back and let them know, so they can provide you with the correct prescription. They aren't allowed to just change it on a whim, that would require your doctor's approval. And it would take 7.5mgs of the Hydrocodone to equal each 5mg of Oxycodone, so 15mgs to equal 10 of the Oxycodone. The main issue is that you'd also be increasing the amount of Ac...

I am having constant pain and have been on oxymorphone for two days. How long until it takes effect? I'm miserable. ## What is the current dose you are taking of the Oxycodone? You may not be on an equivalent dosage, there is also a chance that the Opana just doesn't work for you. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

I had surgery in May for disc replacement in C5 and C6 and was taking 10-325mg of Norco for pain, on October 12th I had a disc replaced in L5-S1 and my surgeon put me on 10-325mg of Percocet and Valium 10mg. I have been depressed at home and went to my primary care doctor who prescribed 7.5-500mg of Lortab, I was taking the other meds 2 every 4 hours for pain and have been dropped to 1 Lortab every 4-6 hours, this is not controlling my pain, my doctor feels I have been taking the Percocet for too long, 2 months, he also took me off my Valium 10mg and changed it to Klonopin 1mg, half to 1 pill twice a day, I have been in a lot of pain for a few days now since changing dosages and feel anxious and depressed, is this acceptable or should I go talk to my surgeon again and have my meds chang...
